I was almost 11 at the time and there with my grandparents - by the way, my first concert ever. That's how I got to know Nightwish and especially Floor. The funny thing was that at that time my great heroine was the warrior princess Xenia. When Flor entered the stage at 'Dark Chest Of Wonders', I actually thought Xenia was coming on stage. I'll just say this much - my grandparents never had so much trouble keeping me under control as they did that night and the next day my voice was completely gone. Since that night I'm a hardcore fan of Nightwish and Floor.
What a touching story from your childhood, I reacted in a similar way when I saw Michael Jackson's concert at five and he sang : "I 'm bad, I'm bad...!" , I thought that he was a Viking warrior and a rock star all in one and became enamored with rock and metal music assuming that his long hair represented the genre😂! Thank you for sharing this sweet anecdote from your life! Children are so pure and their limitless imagination opens invisible doors to the truth.
Well, this was the 13th song in the set list. By this time in the concert, she had won everybody over. When most people (including me) had bought tickets for this concert, Floor was not the lead singer - Anette was. Wacken sells out around a full year before the concert. Wacken itself is a tiny town with around 9000 people and they get free tickets. The rest are sold. People going to concerts at WoA have to find lodging outside of town and transportation to the concert. We waited to see who was taking over. We knew from the past that Floor had been considered, but After Forever had collapsed and Floor was experiencing "burn out". However, she was largely recovered. When Tuomas called to ask her if she'd be interested in filling in, she was at her sister's wedding. Floor is a confident person by nature and had opened for Nightwish with her band. Although she wasn't a permanent member of the band here, they were strongly leaning that way. She repeatedly showed reliability and professionalism and the band was very happy with that. She was ill during the BA concert (and it was massively hot there).
Thank you , Jeffrey! I was not aware of a detail about Anette and appreciate you filling me in on the info about Wacken event.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts buddy, it is interresting to know how it was back then (when i even didn't know Nightwish existed)...
This was song 13 of 15. Her night was almost over.😊 she said in an interview that this was the largest audience she'd ever sang in front of. 82ooo this night. Considering she'd only been in the 10 months at this point, she did great!
Yes, she did fabulous, it's a real-authentic talent that cannot be faked!
Hello Elena.
I have some info on Floor Jansen for you here.
She is married to Hannes Van Dahl, drummer of the Swedish power metal band Sabaton. Together they have a daughter. ( Freja )
Floor Jansen is a soprano, with a range of more than 3 octaves (C3 to F6). Re-singing style ranges from opera to screams and grunts. She usually sings in English, in addition she has also sung songs in Dutch, German, Spanish, Finnish, Latin, Italian and Swedish.
Jansen was the singer of the Dutch metal band After Forever from 1997 to early 2009. From 1999 she studied at the Rockacademie in Tilburg with classmates Jacqueline Govaert and Danny Vera, where she graduated in 2003. In addition to her activities at After Forever, she gave singing lessons. She plays guitar, piano and flute. On May 5, 2010, she presented her new band ReVamp, which was disbanded in September 2016.
From 1 October 2012 Jansen replaced Anette Olzon as singer of Nightwish during the Imaginaerum World Tour. On October 9, 2013, it was announced that she would be the group's regular new front singer. In 2015, Nightwish released the album Endless Forms Most Beautiful with Jansen as lead singer. Nightwish's second studio album with Jansen as front singer, Human. :II: Nature., was released in April 2020.
Greetings from the Netherlands.
And currently Hannes and Floor are expecting their second child ❤
@@bettymajoor Yes I know, but I don't have a name to put it there yet.
But that comes later.
Thank you for an awesome overview of Floor Jansen's life/musical journey! I've been a fan of Floor Jansen since the start of her journey with Nightwish as well as a fan of Nightwish since 1998. Warm greetings to you from USA!
Good job , Floor was fine here when she was real sick it was in the South American tour in Bogota Columbia . I'm guessing you saw Floor's reaction to her singing this .
Thank you, Robert! I heard her talk about it on Best Zingers show/interview in Dutch (2017) with English subs. I appreciate the info!
Surely there is no one left in the universe who has not reacted to GLS?
😀👍
I keep thinking that myself, I hear an alien in the Andromeda galaxy hasn’t heard it yet, but that’s just a rumour
I believe the Mandalorians don’t listen to music.
@@iczero1224 nope - Floor is from the Andromeda galaxy - everybody knows her there. They sent her to the Earth to ensure that the sun raises every morning - and to show us what real singing means.. 😂
@@kimfabritiusdetengnagel2038 yes indeed!!!!
Welcome back to the Nightwish Army!!! YOU ARE NOT READY FOR THE NOTE!!!!!!!!!!!!
To hear how she felt herself performing at Wacken she made a video reacting to herself singing this at Wacken. Lots of technical info and some memories of her starting with Nightwish:. czcams.com/video/QW_3F186_5Q/video.html
Thank you, I appreciate it!
FLOOR JANSEN THE G.O.A.T
This is song number 13 of a fifteeen track set
Floor is one of the most laid back people I've ever seen. Then she walks on stage and a switch flips. In this documentary, you can really see her human side, as well at 8:10 she's fidgeting then blasts on stage like a force of nature. czcams.com/video/B3NIfu0qvtg/video.html
Yes, I agree, she is such a genuine and warm soul!
Fantastic reaction love and respect from the UK 👍👍👍👍👍👍🌟😀😀 amazing channel 👍
Thank you so much for watching and your kind words, I appreciate your support!
Hi my friend a new wave of music that's starting to get big views is beatbox acapella. 1 for your list ( show go - silver) it's amazing what sounds the human voice can make love and respect from the UK 👍👍👍👍👍👍🌟😀😀 amazing channel 👍
@@jukeboxdave6026 Thank you, I appreciate you suggestion and will definitely take a look!🥰
👍❤ Are you sure that Floor was ill during this performance at WOA 2013? In the interview I've seen, she told that she was sick during Nightwish's South-American tour in 2018.
Exactly!
I heard her talk about it on Best Zingers show/interview in Dutch (2017) but I always trust the Nightwish Army loyalists with these important details, thank you!❤
@@reactwithelena Floor wasn't on Beste Zangers in 2017, but in 2019. So she was speaking about the South-American tour in 2018, just like I told you.
@@tarmotyyri6733 Thank you for clarifying!
@@reactwithelena My pleasure.
Small correction: Floor was not ill during this performance. That was in latin-America. This is in Germany.
Thank you, Ronald, appreciate it! I see this from the previous comments, the confusion came from a comment I misunderstood during a Best Zingers interview.
Hi Elena, i love to see your reaction videos of Nightwish. For me they are the best band in the world 😍 I also have another recommendation for you. If you like surprises, then try this masterpiece of our Dutch genius Arjen Anthony Lucassen with 11 awesome singers (I won't spoil who they are, but i think you will recognize some of them 😉): Ayreon - The Day That The World Breaks Down. Here is the link to the video: czcams.com/video/oFuMKdrzPqU/video.html
You will be blown away by all the talented musicians and singers! You won't be dissappointed....I PROMISE! Hope to see your reaction to this masterpiece soon and for now....Greetings, stay safe and lots of love from The Netherlands, Martin.
Thank you so much for watching and the link , Martin! I've only heard of Ayreon in name but haven't listened to their music yet, I will definitely check it out! Warm greetings to you from USA♥.
@@reactwithelena Thank you Elena. Can't wait to see your reaction to Ayreon. Looking forward to it 😊 Keep up the good work! Warm greetings from The Netherlands ❤️
Thank you, appreciate your support!
i concur
@@helli0n824 Thank you!
Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment and warm wishes and support for my channel! I truly appreciate it and please stay tuned for more incredible Nightwish and Floor masterpieces to follow! Welcome and warm wishes from USA ❤️.
Nightwish , Wacken , Germany :)
hi elena, why just listening with one ear to this iconic masterpiece?
Hi CoffeineNightOwl, it's a personal sensory preference. When reacting to music I need to be able to hear and control my own voice-volume and hear what I'm saying as opposed to having the sensation of having both of my ears stuffed with earplugs!
Yes, I think Floor took what was already an awesome, epic song and made it even better. No disrespect to Tarja; some Nightwish songs I still think she does better, but Floor really owns GLS!
I can only assume you have watched Floor's own reaction to GLS as you have muddled up some of her dialogue. She was not ill at this concert. She was in fact ill during the 2018/19 Decades tour in South America. This was only ten months after she was brought in as a temporary replacement and shortly after she and Troy Donockley were asked to become full time members of the band.
I heard her talk about it on Best Zingers show/interview in Dutch (2017) with English subs. I appreciate your clarification, Clive!
@@reactwithelena Not wishing to be pedantic but Floor was on Beste Zangers in 2019. LOL. She also appeared on the show in 2021 singing Euphoria from home as recovering from a gall bladder operation.
@@clivematthews5296 LOL, Indeed! Wow, I was definitely not expecting some factual and unexpected medical information regarding a gallbladder trouble with Floor! Clive, it is truly the pedantic and detail- focused-folk, with their perpetual thirst for factual information and vast knowledge who keep us, artistic and hedonic connoisseurs and the rest of the world grounded!😅😄👏God bless!
@@reactwithelena oh it's only Floor. As a singer of musicals, rock bands and occasional operettas for over 50 years, I find that she is so versatile and empathic that I was hooked. She recently had an operation for breast cancer and is currently several months pregnant but still performing at full blast and just released her first solo album. Astonishing.
@@clivematthews5296 Floor is a very genuine and special soul indeed and I'm so glad that her cancer battle is now at its healing stage-as I wish and always pray for all the people in the world who are suffering from this terrible disease! I hope that she will continue to delight us with her music for many years to come.
🤗🍒🤘🏻😘
I love you rocking but i'm immediately annoyed not having your other headpiece on!!! you need the whole experience!! :D
This is done for my own sensory comfort and the obvious technical reasoning. When reacting to music, I need to be able to hear and control my own voice-volume as well as what I'm saying as opposed to having the sensation of feeling like both of my ears are stuffed with earplugs! I do get the whole experience as my music is cranked up really loud😃.
You can't go wrong with Nightwish.
Consider watching more of the Dutch symphonic metal band EPICA (with one of Floor's BFF Simone Simons), who celebrated their 10th anniversary (2013) with a one-night-only event, dubbed Retrospect. The band was accompanied by the 70-piece Extended Reményi Ede Chamber Orchestra and the Choir of Miskolc National Theatre, playing an unforgettable 3-hours best-of set.
Watch *_"Unleashed"_* : czcams.com/video/rxd6sxLxdys/video.html
Btw. You've already watched EPICA with APOCALYPTICA with the song "Rivers".
Thank you for your comment and suggestion! I've been a fan of Epica and Simone's vocals for years. "Unleashed" is an absolute masterpiece, so is the "Kingdom of Heaven" part 3, Omega Live, one of the best productions.
💞🇫🇮💞🤘
So Elena I take it you have heard this before , is that why you were only using one ear bud .
It's just a personal sensory preference😃. Also, when reacting to music I need to be able to hear and control my own vocals and hear what I'm saying as opposed to having the sensation of having both of my ears stuffed with earplugs!
The drummer is an insomniac prone to migraines and there were a couple others sick at this concert. Keep in mind this song was 3rd from the end in the set list.
No, nobody was sick here. Only Jukka the drummer had problems with his insomnia desease. In Bogota 2018 Floor, some members and crew were sick
Thank you!
That was the thirteenth song of the set.
🤩👍💥💯🎼
🤘😎 🇫🇮 💙
Was it really this performance, she was ill? I thought somewhere in latin Amerika. But i do not know acactly.
Thank you, Ricardo! My viewers already made a correction regarding this confusion: It was , indeed, during the South American Performance in Bogota, Columbia, and not during this performance at Wacken, Germany.
You been there?:)
Nightwish is Symphonic Metal
Want more like this.
I recommend Versailles Destiny the Lovers
Thank you for your suggestion!
Please react to "Dimash Kudaibergen" singing OGNI Pietra from the Arnau Concert. It's mind blowing. This guy has an 6 octave range and he is trained since the age of 5 years old. Never heard a voice like this.. All the best from Germany 🇩🇪 Petra
I love Dimash and have "Ti amo cosi" reaction on my channel, many more to follow!
