    I've owed one since a tornado came through and damaged my fence about 4 years ago. Because of that storm and 2 others since, I have run several hundreds of screws with it and it's outstanding. Even this weekend as I used this adaptor, it continues to amaze!

    Great video, I have this bit holder but I do prefer to use my Wera Impaktor Tri Torsion bit holder as it holds the screws well plus when the screw hits home, the bit holders sleeve retracts back out of the way. It also prolongs the life of your impact bits compared to other holders I’ve used.
    My current bit holder is 5 years old and still going strong with weekly use. Wish they could invent a bit that lasts that long....

    If you buy the 60pc makita xps set it comes with a PH2 like that. Super strong magnet. My FIL said these are meant for screwing drywall so you don’t push the screw to deep and crack it: but I still use it whenever unless I’m trying to dig screws in.

    I have one of these. They're very useful, but they do also attract all the metal shavings if you strip a screw head slightly. I guess this is good for cleanup, but also means you have to get it all off this part afterwards.

    I have two of these Makita adapters. I also have the Dewalt equivalent. And then I have 2 different Dewalt magnets for their 2 inch bits - .......My name is Beto and I have an addiction to magnetic bit adapters.
    The Makita is by far the best one. It holds the screw "real nice like". Its a bit bulky and wide, but it does exactly what its advertised to do. And if its a tight space, you can remove the adapter if you just want to use it as a standard bit holder or back-out a deep screw; which you cannot do with the Dewalt.

    Every review should say whether the bit holder holds the drive bit in place with just the magnetic force or whether it has a little springy C-clip embedded inside of it that also helps hang on to the bit. The ones with the C-clip are far less likely to have the bit pull out and remain stuck in the head of the screw as you pull the drill away when you are finished driving the screw into the work piece.

    • @ToolReviewZone
      @ToolReviewZone  Před 4 lety

      All of them have been magnetic rings so far good 'un👊

    • @goodun2974
      @goodun2974 Před 4 lety +1

      @@ToolReviewZone , ultimately, holding the bit in place strictly with the magnetic force just doesn't work for me; I gotta have the C-clip! I'm okay with having to use pliers to remove the bit (especially the short bits) from the holder; it beats pulling the drill away and having the bit stay in the head of the screw! The plain-jane Dewalt bit holders have the C-clip and the strongest magnet of any bit holder I have tried (and I've tried many!). I only use the sliding-collar bit-drivers for special circumstances, as the increased diameter of the magnetic collar gets in the way...

    I thought these were a new idea from the past few years. Obviously the popularity of impacts has skyrocketed lately. So the ¼" impact side is new...But when my machinist grandfather passed away a few years ago, I got all his old tools and there was a whole set of different screw-driver tips with magnetic tip shrouds like this. All his tools are very old...so the idea is an old one that's been resurrected lately. It's fun to use his hand drills sometimes, even though an impact will do it 100x faster.

    Very good product, I also use Robertson bits and screws that hold pretty well without a magnet. I was screwing down a subfloor at my daugter's house on Long Island. I purchased T25 floor screws at Home Depot there and could not do the job, screws could'nt stay on the bit. I had to come back to Montreal and I got 500 square bit floor screws at Home Depot here, went back south of the border and did the job in half a day without issues. I was very disappointed with those star bit screws, they don't hold any better than those "%±!*& Phillips headed screws.

  • @KEPKE
    @KEPKE Před 4 lety +1

    I hate this bit holder (still use). It's good if you don't want to screw deep.. but! Screws are holding not on bit, but only on magnet, when trying screw on angle and push screwdriver on wood, screws are droping like beans. If you screwed to deep, you need to remove holder, faster is to change all bit with holder or screwdriver. For basic tasks use metal part only. And yes, its holding on bits smallest part 2:16, so screws and bits are damaged in process.

    Just recently got a combo pack, a drill and impact two battery and charger with Makita box set. I've been having my eye on Makita for a while I'm new to the game, did a whole lot of research yada yada yada. I have a project where I was going to be using a lot of my time drilling and such so I made up my mind to get the drill and impact, after purchasing them I was looking for bits and stuff and came across this on Amazon and I was going to get it automatically then I talked myself out of it. I kind of didn't understand the benefit of it, the videos were just advertising that it was for sale really not really too much of it in action so I couldn't bring myself to make the purchase, even though it was very well priced considering the price of the drill and impact I bought. Your video has encouraged me to go out and get this bit right now and I'm looking forward to using it and I will be using it so thanks a whole lot for your video and your content and obviously above all your channel. If you take a look on the Wera Impaktor Bit Holder you'll realise how primitive this Makita Bit Holder is.

    I have that sleeve & it's almost too strong of a magnetic force. You can hardly even pull the bits outta the sleeve
