@@nstivachtis That's a good question; I have my stock tightened down and fixed in place to reduce movement. It's possible that the cheek rest would restrict full movement of the charging handle, but Luth-ar addresses that in a faq on its website. I am not affiliated with the company in any way, so do your own due diligence when considering the product.
Rifle stock changed over from LUTH-AR rifle length to Fab-Defense - RAPS rifle length. FAB-Defense has adjustable carbine stocks for ARs. Just a better stock.

I'm sure you can coat them just fine. I did the 6.5 Grendel using Alumahyde from Brownell's and it's held up pretty well so far.
Try the Luth-AR stock. It has an adjustable cheek rest height, flat base to sit on a rear bag better, and isn't all that heavy.

IT does NOT allow the charging handle to reciprocate. that is why i am here watching this video lol
