Well done! Thanks for making this video! I just saw the new one and was debating whether I should purchase it given that I also have the old one. I will after watching this video as the upgrades are significant enough for me to want it.
Good choice! I am really happy with the upgrade. I already sold the old one. It's a night and day almost.
11:27 Dang! A filter for your filter. And then another filter!
Yeah :-). Something like that :-)
Great comparison, very well done! FYI: I know that it is popular in Britain to refer to these devices as "Hoovers". The device is a "Vacuum Cleaner" , where "Hoover" is a brand name for a manufacturer of vacuum cleaners. I suppose it is similar to calling a "Tissue" a "Kleenex" {as we do in the US).
Yes, I believe you are correct. Hoover was a well known brand here. I am from Poland originally and I use both terms 😉. It's similar with Sellotape and duct tape as well. Another example is Tupperware. Tissues are never called Kleenex in the UK - I have not heard that, but the brand is known to people. And thanks for the compliments.
Just picked up the new 1gal $50 and the 3gal $99 vs. M18 Packout 2.5gal $179; they're all on sale right now. I'll adapt them to fit my packout cases, home owner, not a pro so this will be handy around house, car, and remodels.
Sounds like a good deal. Here in the rip-off UK this is unheard of.
nice review
Thanks, buddy. What in particular did you like about it, if I may ask?
I bought the newer version a couple weeks ago. Great vac. One difference with the one here in Canada is that there is no cover for the battery.
I didn't know that the bottom links plate came off. I don't use that system so good to know. Thank you
Thanks for the info! That's a shame about the battery cover. Also, it's no good removing the bottom part as then you end up with pointy plastic parts sticking out at the bottom. All the best ;-)
@@KamilsTechTips Ya, I took off the bottom yesterday and saw the points so I put it back on. Still a good vacuum.
Yeah, a very good one. And that Link System might come handy one day ;-)
Super, bardzo mi pomógł Twój film, dziękuję.
No to fajnie.
No to gratuluję jedynie słusznej decyzji ;-)
Great job on the comparison. Has anyone found a good bag filter that fits yet? I just purchased the new 3 gal version US model. Sucks that ours does not have the battery cover like yours does. I will be getting the pool socks though.
Thanks. I have not heard from anyone about any good bags. The battery cover is not a critical items, so no sweat ;-) .
To use as a wet vac on the 11l do you just take filter out? Cheers
I should imagine. There should not be anything else. Just remove what you do not want to get wet.
Great review, any chance you could do a review using it to clean he car or maybe wet vac carpet stains? really tempted as this is on sale at the monent.
Hey. Not right now - busy with other things. But it's definitely better than the old one. For the old one check the video by Project Farm - great test.
@KamilsTechTips I've never owned one but ordered the new style vac lastnight as it on sale, hopefully good enough for hoovering the car out.
Definitely good enough. It's a nice work vac - it can handle dust and water, so a car will be easy. Good choice, buddy.
The new one mounts to the new toolboxes.
Yes, the Link system. I think I mentioned them.
Thanks for reviewing the comparison.
I like the background musics that you've put on the segments "Summary" and "Design", would you mind writing the name of those instrumentals please (if anyone knows, feel free to write it down :P )?
Hey. You're welcome - my pleasure. The tracks are: Gift Shop Theme (Royalty Free Music - Stream Beats), and Fun-Hip-Hop_AdobeStock_601103020 - I hope this helps. Cheers!
@@KamilsTechTips Thanks for the references :)!
My pleasure. I know how annoying it is not to be able to find the tune we are looking for ;-)
hello can you please share the dust bag you used? I bought the 3-4.5 gal dust bag from ridgid but it doesn’t work :/ thanks!
I used one for Henry, but it's not a good fit either. I could not find anything good. Just check the size and shape and hope for the best.
thanks for your reply
Let me know if you find something suitable. Cheers.
there must be possible to make a 3D print to make vac bags fit more neatly ?
I guess it is possible. Are you up for the challenge?
@@KamilsTechTips Currently renovating so my place is trash right now, I do have a 3D printer and tested one of those 3 gallon items on thingiverse, I did not have any success with them, problem is the bag slides off. i seen other vac devices that has some interresting locking mechanism, i think all you need are 2 rings, one small and one longer, so will look at that, also wonder what kind of bags would fit best, I have the old version
Ok, so if you have any luck, it would be nice to see a video of that. Also, maybe a simpler solution like duct tape? It is kind of funny and cliché, but there are so many things a duct tape can sort out! Keep us posted, buddy.
Has anyone attached an extended hose on it? It looks very short even when it's pulled to its max 👀 i'm also thinking of getting a makita battery to ryobi tool adapter so I don't have to invest in more batteries. Wondering if the newer model would be problematic since it has the waterproof plastic case over the battery. Hopefully it still runs without the case being closed 🧐
You won't fit an adapter and the battery, but you could remove the cover and fit it, or at least keep the cover open - then you can have a battery with an adapter.
Regarding a hose, you should be able to fit extensions to it, either fining ones that fit or using some kind of adapter. For handheld applications the hose is long enough. For workshop applications you could use an extensions.
@@KamilsTechTips ah okay, what size diameter hose is required if I want a longer one if I want to use it for larger areas like the garage using a floor attachment like normal house vaccums ?
The nozzle has external diameter of 30mm and it gets a bit wider with distance, so you can wedge something over it. I hope it helps. @@dotdot2723
@@KamilsTechTips Yeah it does, thanks!

Not at the moment as this is just a hobby. But maybe soon.
how about car cleaning? wtf, just a lot of trash info and did not show how it works.
There are lots of other videos showing how it works. It's a vacuum cleaner - you know what to expect, so I just discussed what is relevant.
And yes it's very good for the car too.
