Regarding Baloch Twins - When you’re discriminated against, on the basis of your ethnicity every step of the way, its hard to tell the difference of when the discrimination is of a different kind - and neither should they have to. Whether racial or professional, they weren’t treated equal and that was discrimination. Calling it an ‘agenda’ was so unfair.
PISA should acknowledge its mistake and ensure this doesn’t happen in the future

Amna’s comment regarding Baloch twins was highly insensitive. Amna is no one to decide if anyone felt discriminated. We need to be more conscious with our words when it comes to discrimination.
I agree, the comments Hassan and Amna passed were from a place of privilege. It's almost like when White people in the USA undermine the struggles of Black populations because it hasn't personally affected them or that haven't personally witnessed it. That's not how discrimination works. It's sometimes quite nuanced. I think Amna and Hassan are brilliant, but this comment rubbed me the wrong way.

You guys did highly insensitive conversation about minorities and baloch twins. It is better to edit that part later. I was not expecting this from both of you.
That was really lovely of Hassan to not go for the dinner at Nusr-Et! Just because it is so so expensive! Of course Aamna can afford it and would have taken Hassan for the bday dinner, but was good for Hassan to consider it in that way. We don’t see these kinds of behavior these days; people would order the most expensive things on the menu when they know someone else would be paying the bill.
I can understand having award shows In Dubai or UK or US. There is audience from the sub continent, and UAE has no industry of it’s own. Question is why are these held in Turkey? Would the Turks ever hold their award function in Pakistan? Even if hypothetically speaking, we imagine it happening, the Pakistani public and actors would do anything to get an invite. Did the Turks, or Turkish actors show any interest in getting invited to ours? Did any of those Ertugrul stars who came to, or did business with Pakistan show interest in attending our show? Is our content shown in Turkey like it is in Pakistan?
Instead of spending energy on holding awards functions abroad, efforts should be made to improve Pakistani content and getting it on international platforms. First make your work go international , than hold ceremonies abroad.

@@teadrinker1260 😀 Non of our content is on any international forum , yet they love to have award shows abroad. 😌 Chalo, Pakistanis and some Indians would recognise them in Dubai, but Turks 😂. Even in US , Pakistanis die to attend any Bollywood show, but Indians are not so much bothered to attend a show with Pakistani artists. Pakistanis are happy getting free trips, and wearing gowns. 😂
This is such a solid point. Although I'm from India & as many people out here great fan of Pakistani cinema & television. I really do feel that when it comes to talent and art, they are so good. But when it comes to the other aspects of industry, the are so undermined. And yes, it would be lovely if Paks would believe in their power and give themselves as much importance as they deserve.

BALOCH BROTHERS CONTROVERSY:
I agree that it might not be discrimination based on ethnicity, but something that you failed to identify was their social strata and where they were based out of. Obviously, in a country where people a primarily judged on monetary aspects, it is evitable that an artist who is independent and is based out of Lyari faces discrimination. May be not on ethnicity but on socioe-conomic status as mentioned by the brothes themselves. It is very unfair Hassan and Aamna that you failed to address the socio-economic aspect of this controversy.
My take on Pisa21 was it was boring. No good outfits, performances seemed low, energy felt low and it just quietly went down.
On the contrary, I thought the outfits were some of the best in comparison to Filmfare middle east and IIPA.
So where did shahrukh go? Is he no longer with something haute?

I was not aware of the controversy of independent musicians. I got to hear from you two. I know you guys are not "representatives" of the award show. Since you are kind of speaking for them so I think this is perhaps the right platform to address this. For your knowledge, whenever we address anything to do with the abuse, discrimination or an assult. The first sentence should always start with " If the accuser (in this case the musicians) felt they were discriminated due to the ethnicity; they have our sympathies and support. However we do not agree with this etc etc" now you can give ur side of argument.
The reason is because starting a sentence with denial sounds very insensitive. This is also a kind of victim blaming. How can we decide how other people should feel, if the musicians felt like than am pretty something might have happened or said to them. It could have been directly or indirectly. Just like in the case of women harassment we are trying to prevent victim shaming. Similarly I believe we need to take same initiative for racial discrimination.
Lastly, if we are Completely denying and calling them wrong. We are kind of telling them they don't have a right to go with their feelings. If no serious action is taken for this case, it will leave a negative impact. In the future people will be scared to raise their voice.
Stating on your social media account that you were ethnically discriminated isn’t a mere expression of your feelings but rather a serious allegation and that too without any substantial proof. They could’ve chosen to express their hurt and demanded an explanation. But making such serous statements when you have some influence was highly irresponsible on their part. What Hassan and Amna did was state their shock and disappointment, this is in no way synonymous with victim blaming, especially because other artists also faced similar problems.
@@scimal they have both admitted that Baluch Twins were a case of low priority so excuse a person from a disadvantaged community for believing that it was ethnic discrimination. If this happened in US to a black person would anyone dare to say "you weren't a priority but you have no reason to believe your race was the factor"?
@@aiman_12345 Sorry, but one cannot be excused for making such serious allegations without any proof. Even in the United States making false racist claims can lead you into trouble if not backed by any proof. And the fact that they were informed about the cancellation beforehand yet showed up in itself shows ill intent at their end. All smaller scale artists were low priority, not just them.

However my point is not on whether they got discriminated or not. what am saying is we or anyone has not got a right to say, what the musicians are saying is not the truth. This is because how they feel goes down to how they were treated.

Hassan and Amna I am a great admirer of your work. However, so disappointed with your stance on Baluch Twins and accusing them of playing the “racial card”. I understand as a judge Amna you did have perspective about the show and it’s emphasis on inclusivity and you could have just brought that up without accusing them of playing “racial card”. In fact you could have addressed them directly and told them “I want to assure you this wasn’t an issue of racism”. For people who have faced racism on several occasions, the first thought to any misfortune tends to go in that direction. Having a lot of black friends and as an active supporter of BLM (I work with a BLM organization) I know that small unconnected things can also push victims of racism to wonder if they are being subjected to the situation for who they are. Both of you saying they played “racial card” actually comes from a place of privilege. You have likely not faced racism or discrimination based on how you look and where your origin is from so it is very easy for you to accuse someone like that. I really hope both of you will take time to reflect on what you said. You statement lacked empathy. Meanwhile you both are highly empathetic people and I love your work. As a fan I urge you to reflect.
Iam so happy Mohib mirza won...He is so talented and deserved a recognition...Dushman-ae-Jaan was an excellent series and mohib's acting was excellent too.

One of the biggest issues I felt with PISA was their voting process/website. I tried on three separate occasions to vote, but wasnt able to. Which is why I feel, that the main awards for the best actor n actress, (as amazing as Feroze n Sarah are) wasnt reflective of the best work done in the drama industry for the year. It had to be Yumna and Bilal.

Honestly from what i saw on insta, these awards gave alot of positive vibes! Especially when sonya cried, you could tell how passionate she is with her craft and finally getting recognised must have been so overwhelming. That goes for Sana and umaid jaswal they loooked so adorable and a fun couple . This was all so nice to see:)
Yumna and Bilal desrved an award atleast for giving the best performances of the year but unfortunately bcoz of these nomination process of not nominating an actor in two catogeries felt quite unfair!!! They would have won if nominated in the critics choice for sure

once i saw umair at a resturant, he was there waiting for his friend i was waiting for my friend. There were no one else there except 1 or 2. so it went like 20 mins. that why Alif was not nominated and why Sajjal was not nominated for Alif. Was Alif direction, acting was less than other director or actors.
Every body is so surprised and raising question on the jury. Just by talking confidently or deciding your self what is good or bad does not enough to make you a good judge. Now we mostly see merit being sacrificed and damaging the concept of professionalism and experts in this fielx needed. Any one who is engineer or doctors starts judging the acting . I think they should work in their fields rather depriving veterens , genuine actors who knows acting, to be in the jury.

Alif was already nominated last year in almost all the categories, but majority of the awards were won by Mere Paas Tum Ho. Where as in LSA, Alif was nominated in this year's edition.
All these awards shows a have different criteria for nominations.
I must say that Sana javed looked like a million dollars in that satin Green saree. She is extremely beautiful ✨.

Over all PISA looked good..feroze and iqra were the best dressed celebs but again in performances i wish to see new singers and bands in next year like zeeshan is so good for to give tribute to NFAK songs ,also there should be performances on drama OSTs rather than same old repeated songs of few movies..

I don't think there is any racial discrimination in entertainment industry..look at diversity Deepak parwani, sunita marshal, mahnoor baloch, ehsan raheem..yes its all about big stars or less known stars.

I do respectfully disagree with a fair amount of Aminas views when debating certain topics in the past but i have to say she was the best person to be the jury manager because you can trust her to have the integrity and principles to not do any 'hera pheri' and giving one award to another purely as they have attended the awards. This not only gives value but credibility to the awards and for the winners this further validates their achievement.
Pisa seemed to me better than this year's ippa & Lsa.
I am happy for Sonia. She performed really well in Saraab, bt as the drama was not a big hit she did not get much appreciation. Same for Mohib Mirza as well.

Amna g what happened about Shahveer Jaffrey? He said that his accommodation was not clear so he decided not to go, even though he won an award.
I thoroughly enjoyed the BTS of the PISA trip you both shared with us on your individual Instagram accounts. Felt like watching your family members participate in an event of this sort. The entire vibe was both refreshing and fun.

usually when there is any event or conference for more than 1 day, there is always a plan, which is shared in a timeline manner with all the attendees, now event organizers create their own applications which guide you with upcoming events. that is how everyone is aware of the plan.

Enjoy all the content but you guys were quick to ask/ judge whether it was fair for Yumna to win 2 awards in the LSA but I didn't see a tagline whether or not the PISA awards were fair in the fact that Yumna didn't even get one award. This is the reason critics awards should not exclude someone just because they were nominated for the popular award. There is no denying Yumna's performance was by far the strongest of the year and for PISA not to recognize that shows a big flaw. Totally not on the mark.

Regarding the Baloch Twins controversy, I agree with Amna but the thing is that they had mentioned multiple times in their statement that they tried contacting the management multiple times but they chose to ignore their messages. This was obviously on purpose and this is pretty degrading
In my opinion Mehwish Hayat and Shehryars performance is now boring it was nothing new. Maybe you guys liked it as you were there in that moment but after LSA it seemed repetitive

Hassan definitely needs to check his mike volume. When he suddenly laughs, it’s so loud that it almost catches you off guard. I just have to keep adjusting the volume when I watch any of your shows. The variance in volume makes the show very tacky & tapori types….please do something about it.

The Baloch twins did play the racial card.. Amna explained her "version" of the story and I agree that there might have been unfairness, but to call it that it was based on race is really stupid and disappointing by the people commenting here... every person from lower strata of the society has to go through alot of trouble and challenges to get where they are while privilaged have it a little easy.. but saying its purely due to race is just disgusting.. Pakistanis need to get over using race - thats what politicians use.

I think there should be a brochure with nominations and a brief intro and why that nominee is nominated and in what category with an itinery that would help people understand the facilities available and the help numbers/ contact persons and different arrangements because the awards should be about celebrating the industry, promoting it and ofcourse the nominees need to be promoted
