Have you guys seen the Korean movie parasite? There’s a scene where there’s rainfall, the rich are happy that their grass will be watered and the poor are terrified that their houses will be shattered. That’s what the whole celebrities partying in Canada situation reminded me of. It came across as really tone deaf on the celebrities part.

Omg that movie gave me goosebumps. You’ve compared the situation so well. The ‘donations’ to the flood victims is a side thought as represented by Yasir’s statement about the whole business class issue. Celebrities act so tacky and classless with their designer bags and selfies in business class. Makes them look so tone deaf exactly as u said.

Feroze also had a recent interview where he was questioned about the choice of his characters and their abusive nature. He justified it by calling it "passion play" and comparing it to 50 shades of grey. So he's not being demonized for his characters solely, but because of his own opinions as well. If someone is outright calling violence “passion play” in an interview being broadcasted publicly, isn’t that indicative of their moral compass and behavior?

Aamna dismissing child support claims of him only paying 20,000 was disappointing. He should be able to show receipts to courts, if he’s paid more, which he hasn’t. I know many well to do fathers who don’t pay child support out of ego because they don’t want the mother receiving the money.

With all due respect Amna, both psychological and physical abuse are not 'easy' to prove. The toll it must take on the woman who has to prove this for people to believe her... she'll have to tell the trauma again and again and find/show proof... she'll have to relive it. Please don't make such ignorant statements. Only a victim of such a situation can understand how traumatic this must be for Alizay (especially while caring for the kids too) and especially when people think it's 'easy' to prove. Often it's not even easy for the woman to recognise the abuse at first. It's taken her 4 years for her to take this decision - that shows something.
PS: People who are guilty of sexual harassment usually do it with more than one person so it's a lot easier to back the victim's experience. While with physical & psychological abuse: only the partner would've seen that side. To the world, the abusive person may seem completely normal, even charming on the surface. So no it's not easy to find evidence. A slap may not always leave a mark. An aggressive push won't either. A woman who's been physically abused or threatened may not always have bruises to show. How can someone like Amna become so ignorant all of a sudden is beyond me. The marks of physical abuse fade, especially over the years that you've kept it under cover and psychological abuse can always turn in to a case of 'her word, against mine'.

@@amnajabbar9031 Respectfully, I disagree. Don't get me wrong. I disagree with Aamna on many things such as her take on Ayesha's friendship with Farhad in Habs or with how she dismissed Aliza talking about how little child support Feroze is apparently agreeing to. A father may seem doting in front of others but not be the same behind the scenes. Additionally, even if he was a doting father during the marriage, that wouldn't necessarily be the case during a messy divorce because people often use their children as leverage to hurt their former partner, as their judgement is clouded. However, I believe she meant the victim instead of just women in this case. It's just unfortunate that in Pakistani society, victim has almost become synonymous with women with how often we end up victims. I think she just meant because it is an allegation that can be proven in court we should side with the victim because women have a lot to lose with these allegations so its most likely that they are true, especially given the statistics surrounding intimate partner violence. Worst case scenario Aliza is lying? We sided with a liar. Worst case scenario Feroze is lying? We sided with an abuser. I think I would rather side with a liar than an abuser, and I'm sure Aamna felt the same hence her assertion women (i.e. victims) should be believed. If it was a man alleging his wife of serious allegations, based on Something Haute's past takes, I'm inclined to believe they would have had a similar approach. Sorry for the long response!

Her performance was so measured and the way she changed her entire look in comparison to her other character is praiseworthy. But iqra aziz over Hadiqa Kiani and sania saeed? You have to be joking. First off, where was sania saeeds nomination? Second off, how did iqra win over Hadiqa Kiani when she shouldn’t have been nominated in the first place? Don’t get me wrong, iqra is a wonderful performer. But the main roles in Raqeeb as were of sania saeed, Hadiqa Kiani and Noman ijaz. Faryal Mehmood and iqra aziz were secondary. They did great, but not enough to get a nomination or let alone win over their seniors. I also don’t understand some of these random awards. I understand that there is a lot of controversy surrounding the Hum Awards. I believe the issue here is not about the Pakistan Cricket team going to Dubai or England's team visiting Pakistan amidst Queen's death. The issue is about how the Hum Awards were portrayed by the actors and other members of the entertainment industry. I absolutely agree that the awards should not have been canceled, as it takes months of planning to execute an event so big, especially overseas. But, Hum Network's statement and other actors' comments appeared to undermine the floods at large, although they did state that a portion will be donated, it still seemed like a half-hearted approach just to silence the public. I think the trip should not have been flaunted across social media, as it was. Adding to this, Yasir's statement on how the actors who did not attend the awards were sole because they were not offered Business Class tickets, made it worse.

So when a woman is married and has a child she basically has nothing to gain from leaving she will try so so much to make it work. Proof of allegations according to these criteria have to be presented to the court. Feroze's statement accepts nothing and denies nothing. Every lawyer worth their dime will tell you to keep your mouth shut when the situation has come so far that it is in front of a judge, and his statement smacks of one constructed by a lawyer. And because if ahe has spoken earlier, the same people would have said nashukri aurat didn't even try to make things work. It was her trying to make things work these four years. Having kids even during a chaoric marriage was her very desi way of trying to make things work. Do you guys not know anyone in your surroundings who is living in an abusive marriage and is unable to leave due to their own reasons? Have we seriously become so insensitive? Most of the comments are so apathetic. God forbid it could happen to any of us. So many women continue to live in abusive marriages because they do not have the strength or confidence to leave.
Also if you remember her happy stories, do you not remember her multiple stories that were so telling of her unhappy marriage? It was always obvious.
Honestly it didn't even come as a surprise to me. He has a history of saying insensitive and problematic stuff. He's an openly aggressive person. He has even lashed out at interviewers. He has always been toxic. You guys just didn't see it.
Also just because someone is nice to you doesn't mean that they must be nice to their spouse behind four walls. Ted Bundy was the nicest person, and look who he was in private. There ate countless real life examples, so we should really stop using this logic.
An understanding of the psychological perspective helps you understand a lot. If people are genuinely empathetic, they would read up and know why women can't speak up early and how narcissists manipulate and gaslight.

How can you just assume that someone is a hypocrite if they are criticizing people on dancing or dressing vulgarly? I genuinely get disappointed over such comments. If a person is sinful in private(we all are) thats a matter better him/her and ALLAH but when it is public its starts to influence people and we as Muslims are told multiple times k tm behtareen ummat ho q k tm achai ki talqeen karty ho or burai sy rokty ho. And the person saying such things need not to be cut off of social media. There are ways to be on social media, watch dramas, watch CZcams while not being exposed to vulgar content (revealing clothes+ dancing+ "adult content" etc). Also it's the evil you see vs the evil you don't. Media industry gets easy criticism because they choose to make everything public. On the other hand if a person is sinful in private it's not a Matter anyone can criticize. I agree that people don't talk in a civilized manner they just abuse and pass judgement that you're going to hell or you're not Muslim which is wrong. It must be done in a respectful way and must not be a public humiliation of someone. But you cannot assume that every person talking about following Islam is a hypocrite. And being on social media doesn't come with a condition to leave Islam behind.
Having said all of this. I know people might get offended but I'm glad I was able to say what I feel. No one is forcing anyone to act a certain way or have a certain lifestyle. At the end of the day these are the choices we all are given.

It is a wife's duty to obey their husband and be submissive to their needs? But husbands are not bound to be respectful, faithful, and held equally accountable. How much emotional trauma it is indeed for children to endure yelling, screaming, and seeing their mother being reactive to abuse, and after hitting the limit, they raise their voices and receive more abuse. Most marriages in Pakistan are not safe. Most educated men are not safe partners mentally and emotionally; abuse is not only physical. Okay so Ehd e Wafa was awarded and hum TV skipped the name of one of its main characters Wahaj Ali! It was so triggering for his fans, viewers of Ehd e Wafa and specially those who resonated with his character. Hum TV needs to be called out for this.

Ayeza Khan and Osman highly deserved both the awards.Their work is so magical in #chupkechupke.I have watched Choudhry and sons and chupke chupke umpteenth times and enjoyed each and every time. These are simply love.
