    DIY 6s Li-ion Pack Tutorial
    • How to make 6s li-Ion ...
    Do not listen to manufacture specs or false reviews stating the manufactures specs as gospel. Do your own research or ask those who make those claims to produce a video backing up those statements. 9/10 those camps will not respond or produce an answer, or try to sell you on the next hype. I'm just an end user like you who spends their hard earns and reliy on honest information and not someone heartlessly trying to profit from you.
    From my testing today. I feel that this setup will provide about 15 minutes of real high altitude cruising for long range. 20 minutes if you are just cursing at lower altitudes, but no way will you get 25-30 minutes on a perfect day unless you are flying low, slow, and take ithe average voltage down to 2.5vlts.
    My pack is 400mah larger with more amps than the 8000mah prebuilt pack and they are also 20 grams lighter. So that 40minutes hover time is quite the opposite of truth.
    I don not suggest getting or making parallel packs for 12000mah 6s Li-ion. This is only a single 55amp 4in1 esc designed to handle a lighter setup.
    Enjoy the research.
    God Bless

    So my Flight Time is consistent with KremerFPV. He is a very honest reviewer and I found my flight time to be consistent with his.
    My AUW was 1835gr with an 8400mah li-ion and an firefly X lite attached that also used battery from the FC.
    If other reviewers are telling you exaggerated Flight times, ask them to make video showing their results and setup. So far you have a reviewer (KremerFPV) and an end user (Myself) with pretty similar results and flying

      I love that there are many options for Quads 8" and above. I seriously think people will still fly what makes them happy as it is in constant change. I have had many sub 250 drones, but at the moment, I'm at the 6" and above quads that really brings a smile to my face. I do have a 9" quad. I am missing from my fleet an 8" and a 13". Those are on the list within the next year or so. I intend to enjoy the hobby as it was meant to be. Keep me posted if you do a 9" build. I wold love to see the results!

    Great real-world testing, have you considered trying the 5000mah cells like the Samsung 50E or LG M50LT? they are only 10A max continuous discharge but in a 6S2P config you should be able to stay under 20A. Would be interesting to se the difference.

    • @scottgivens27
      @scottgivens27  Před rokem +1

      The prices are are pretty cheap as well for the 5000mah. I might try it once I do the 5-6 miles flight test. Then I can truly see my overall ave Amp draw during high altitude flying with and against the wind. It takes a lot of amps to just lift this 1835gram beast. It will weigh even more with the 5000mah for 10000mah total. Thanks!

  • @adamlovell23
    @adamlovell23 Před rokem +2

    You should be able to get out further than 5 miles I bet, what kinda amp draw are you getting at an efficient cruise and at about what speed?

    • @scottgivens27
      @scottgivens27  Před rokem +1

      Well I’m confident 5 miles and back as I just did 5.6 miles with a different setup. But I want to test it on 5 first to see what my average voltage is on return.
      Unfortunately on this day I did not have my long range antenna on the RadioMaster Boxer and was getting telemetry lost alerts at close range, which was why I had to waste even more energy going down and climbing back up in altitude.
      From what I remember, my ave current draw was at times reaching over 20amps at 53mph. Then fighting side winds during turns.
      The desert spot where I actually fly long range once I reach altitude, my amps are about 10-14amps cruising 50+
      I feel like I can count on this 8400mah pack last around 16 minutes -18minutes.
      I typically turn around about 3.5- 3.55 volts regardless of my distance

      Agreed, it does better when altitude is reached, going straight, while getting help from the wind stream on the way up, or back. Also not having to dip down and accelerate back to altitude, draws more amps.

      I use these packs every week since this video and they provide plenty of punch to pull out of a bad situation. I'm currently using it on a 9" build and get a crusing speed of 65mph-80mph depending on wind conditions.
      Don't expect to freestyle with them, but they perform well and my goto for long range

      That’s good to hear. I just finished the second pack last night and I intend to fly them on my 7”. I have an Auline 4000mah 35A battery but I plan to fly the 4200mah 45A batteries that I built and was curious if the 10 extra amps were worth building them. Especially since both packs cost the same as buying one of the Aulines. Thanks Scotty.
