  • If pain from arthritis of the facet joints in your neck or back is limiting your ability to participate in activities you love, Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA) may offer relief. RFA is a minimally invasive procedure that interrupts the nerves sending pain signals to the brain.

This procedure was a miracle for me. I have never had relief like this. I will get this procedure done as needed till I die.

I just had my first test injection, yesterday. It helped so much! I need one more injection, to see how my body reacts to it, then I get my ablation. I'm extremely hopeful that it will help alleviate a lot of my pain.

Thank you for posting this video. I've had arthritic neck pain for over a year, serious enough where I can hardly sleep and have given up on most daily activities. I have gone through physical therapy, acupuncture, massage therapy, opioids and steroids and was turned down for surgery. Even though an MRI quite clearly showed the problem in the facet joints, no one ever mentioned RFA to me until I read about it online and got hooked up with a pain specialist. I'm having the procedure done in one month and am eager to see how much relief I get!

no you are just a puss, I have had it done in my neck both sides many times with no anesthesia. They always joke about how I am a beast and can take anything. In fact I just got it today and Gorman joking said Im either immune to pain or dead inside, I am a little of both. I get this done about every 8 months on my neck. It is easy peasy and I LOVE it. I even love when he shoves the ablation into my spine I can feel it and man it feels good.
Dont let them grift you out more money suck it up and be strong and get it done with just the local.
My doctor was talking cars with me and as he mentioned his R8, his Porsche and Bentley ya screw these guys they get enough money I will take a fewm in of pain for 2k off my price.

Beware everyone, the initial test procedure was nothing less than miraculous. However when my facet joint ablation was performed, over a year ago now, all it did was make the pain and discomfort much worse and pain killers no longer give me any relief. Please beware of this intervention, I thought I had nothing to lose...but it can make things worse, it seems permanently.

I've had it done 3 times total and I was awake for all 3. Wish I hasn't been for one them, because the numbing medication FAILED and I felt everything on one side. It was horrible. Dr was totally freaking out.

I just had this done this morning in my mid-back. I had six needles total. I was fully awake. It was extremely painful because it's so close to the nerve. Fortunately, I can tolerate a lot of pain, so if you don't have a high pain tolerance, I would suggest you ask for a little something.

    • @tncorgi92

I am definitely getting sedation because every time I had an epidural injection I had what I think is called a vasovagal reaction; nausea, plummeting blood pressure and dizziness. They had to stop the procedure a couple of times.

❤RFA is unfortunately temporary and many find these last 10 months and since RFA denatures the protein, the pain nerves grow back and in some cases with even more pain. Orthoscopic (tiny cut) plasma or laser medial branch “permanent” ablations offered by some surgeons offer highly long term solutions. The truth is, no one wants to come back for this if they were given the choice. Secondly, all these added surgery’s add human risk each time they are performed. Why be a human pin cushion? Granted, I will acknowledge people should follow through with physical therapy for the best results. Videos by Dr. Ara Deukmedjian at Deuk Spine in Florida; Dr. Dan Lieberman in Pheonix and Dr. Tony Mork in LA are examples of a more permanent approach in contrast to old RFA methodology. Get fixed, not poked...

I demanded to be put to sleep as mine was in my cervical spine on multiple levels with a max of only 3 he was allowed to do. Great pain relief but doesn’t last. I had it done several times and still had to take pain meds and have trigger point steriod injections in my traps because of spasms that would still occur at times which caused occipital neuralgia headaches which are the worst headaches ever. Like a nail being driven in your eye socket and more. I don’t wish this health condition on anyone. I’m only 46 and have had it since around 9 years

Have you ever seen someone getting the ablation in the Lumbar area of the spine ex: L2, L3, L4 Loose control of thei bladder due to the procedure? I have seen a few people reply that it happened to them, My surgeons office said it was a possibility.
Is it possible to become paralyzes with the ablation? Also, therapist said it may sometimes weaken the muscle that goes around your body that you use in exercises to strengthen those muscles. A few of my vertebrae collapsed exercising to help me walk and stand better.

Exactly how much pain do you feel from this procedure? I have 6 shots coming up and what I'm concerned about is the pain vs. the outcome? My doctor is very informative with me. But my fear of increased pain is making me wonder. Is it worth it?
