- I had to do it!!! I could not find a good used one that was not a trash trailer or just junk. the price of this trailer will be absorbed in the use of it. hay down compost back. every load I take with it will return me 10 fold in fertilizer value.

Very nice trailer
thanks it seems to be good.
Greetings from Brazil , nice combination tractor and trailer, God bless you all.
Nice. The key to keeping one of these alive is to load the front and back first and then fill the middle, watch out for loader operators just wanting to make a big pile in the middle. you should have went with the Keith pressure seal floor, those Hallcos will be OK if all you are hauling is compost or manure but if you haul fertilizer in the future, it will leak like a sieve. Also a higher wall would be more versatile to get more bales. A net type sweep tarp is much better than an old piece of rug, even a 10' x 12' Harbour Freight blue tarp works good. There are also no clamps or clips to hold a sweep tarp on the front. I used cheap jumper cable clamps with the teeth ground down a bit hooked to chains that I would screw to the top steel areas on the front wall corners. A lot on manufacturers rivet spring clamps to the front wall but as soon one bad loader driver dumps a bucket of stuff too close to the front and wipes out the clamps, you are toast. Also if you plan on sweeping it out, a broom rack mounted to the inside of the drivers side door saves a lot of time. I ran a walking floor for over 20 years.
Thanks for showing how those work! I've never seen one actually work before (never had the opportunity) so much appreciated! And congrats on the new purchase, hope it serves you even better than expected
The Dorsey trailer is an awesome compliment to your operation Wes, good on'ya.
Excellent, I tune in to make sure logic and common sense still exist
.
Thank you for choosing Dorsey Trailer!
Congratulations! You are reducing a tremendous amount of deadheading, and increasing opportunities to be more efficient in business. I'm happy for you.
Congrats on ur new wagon!!! Walking floor trailer sure are nice trailers for compost !!
Yes they are!
Great demo and rundown - Keep the videos coming!
I love these trailers, they leave such a neat pile. The guys that deliver chicken litter to us put their truck in neutral and let the walking floor push the truck forward as it pushes product against the pile as its unloading.
leave the air brakes off when unloading it will push the truck ahead for you .
Maybe sometimes.
Yep push him all the way down the hill into the woods. Not sure if he has a big enough flat pad
You deserve a new one Wes, you earned it.
As Long as the axles aren't over loaded you can have the axle up when loaded!
Gongrats on your new beautyful walking floor trailer Wesley...
Dorsey makes good stuff and that compost looks good too.
Thanks for sharing, nice looking trailer. Was waiting to see what you got and how it works. Looking forward to seeing it dump hay and other stuff. Glad to hear the damage to the motor home was not in the stratosphere cost wise. Stay safe, wishing you and your family the best.
Love your new trailer!! Very very nice should work well for you!!
Walking floors are awesome. It really doesn't take long to empty out. Cheers :)
Congrats on the trailer. That sure will pay for itself over tyme.
Love it Wes!
I have one of them on my list for exactly the same reasons why you bought it
Well done that man!
Looks like a good investment, I pulled dump trailers years ago with sand and stone for ready mix and when dumping sand you always made sure you were on the level and you still watched out the back window to bring her down if she started leaning to much. For your needs this looks like a perfect and safe fit. Thanks for the video....
Congrats Wesley !! Hope you have good luck with that trailer
It's always fun when something new is added to the farm.
Nice looking trailer.
That works slick. Congratulations on your new purchase. You really deserve it.
Congrats on the new trailer. We have 53' walking floors at work for hauling chips, sawdust and mulch.
I use to haul a walking floor trailer jus that was 53 ‘ an had 4 axles including a fifth steer axle that lifted .. we hauled garbage from waste disposal site to landfill.. would gross out load trailer an truck well over 100 thousand pounds .. we also hauled topsoil an mulch to nurseries .. u can unload in neutral an it will push hole truck an trailer slowly ahead bit by bit till almost empty .. biggest thing I didn’t like was rolling the tarp due to my bad shoulders .. don’t let the roller get bent then it’s a nightmare to try An roll tarp ! They are great money making trailers 👍 I from Ontario Canada an one of the non rude ones lol 😁 happy Easter 🐣
Great video Wes thanks for sharing have a great day nice trailer
Super trucker dan would be proud of this trailer . Great video Wes !
Tidy trailer pal. They are handy machines indeed. I’ve used one with the exact same flooring over here. Spot on. I used to run around 1800 rpm, they advised a max of 1500 rpm on the Legras trailer I used. The side had doors that you opened so that you could load palletised goods, only down one side with tie downs each side of the floor. Damn handy for reloads. 👍👍👍🇬🇧🇺🇸🇬🇧🇺🇸
That is a very nice trailer. Great addition to the farm. You’ll get plenty of use out of that.
Nice trailer. Looks real handy for your operation.
Hello Wes. Nice trailer would like see unload hay which I'm sure we will. Watching that floor moving reminds of a old Farmer walking with a walking chair. Slow and steady but still gets there. Have a good day.
Very nice trailer. Great purchase for what you are doing.
Very nice trailer. Used one for a year and had 0 problems
That's a real honey Wes! Going to be a real asset for the farm!
Beautiful trailer!
Ran a Dorsey and they are built good. Don't have anything bad to say. Hauled saw dust with a small piece of thick roll plastic in the front worked great. It should pay for itself fast.
u did the right thing buying new it will hold its value u service your kit and so in 10 yrs time ist still worth good $$
Awsome trailer. Congradulations on being able to make such a cool purchase. Glad to see that your doing ok and able to improve everyday even if it is just a little bit here and there. Ive never ran a walking floor trailer and would be interested in videos hauling grain if you choose to use it for that. My only experiance is with dump or live floor trailers so i know what they can do with grain but am very interested in seing what a waliking floor can do with grain, lime, dirt, and especialy gravel since that is what i have my trucks haul when they are not hauling grain. I use mostly dump trailers since they are pretty universal with little wear but am always looking for better options. Im very interested in hearing your opinions on this. Thank you and keep up the videos just the way you have been. Maybe post more of the straw baling vids. Thanks Double B Forages
That walking mechanism looks cool running. And nice rig btw ;)
This man will make this trailer pay for itself quick
Yes it is a beautiful trailer CONGRATULATIONS
We use a lot of them in Oregon for sawdust and bark
Kick ass trailer. Congrats.
Nice Trailer. Interesting how that floor works
OMG Wes that is the most incredible trailer, great price and good looking thing that I have ever seen. Breakthrough to be able to double load. We only have tipping trailers in Aus. Cheers Farmer Boo
Glad you enjoyed it
The only thing you won't like is the couplers you have on the hoses they will end up leaking. If you ever do replace them I'd recommend the couplers that are brass and screw together. Nice trailer man walking floors are great.
Nice trailer Wes! Sounds like a very good investment for your operation, I bet you'll wish you had one a long time ago
Congrats Wesley on your new trailer, was sad to see the Mack go it reminded me of Mad Max 2 the road warrior
That's one tidy bit of kit Wes.
Nice. Hopefully it's everything you expect it to be.
Wes I worked around lots of trailers while working on the CN Railway and I must say, yes it is expensive but you only get what you pay for and that sure is a very well made trailer.
Lots of luck with the new adventure and i am sure you will save your self lots of money.
Those walking floor trailers are nice
I always liked pulling Dorsey trailer one of my favorites
Wow, that thing is real nice !!
Very nice trailer and I hope you crush it this year
Awesome trailer Wes never seen one in action thanks to you I have now thanks buddy
Excellent call going new. Being broke down in the field and fixing something is much different than being broke down on the road. Consider adding a hopper bottom for grain to the fleet also. Spec a 41 or 43 foot Timpte or Wilson with Ag Hoppers and relax knowing you can have the walking floor loaded with bales for the next day while you haul a few loads off the farm of grain in the afternoon.
Congrats on the new trailer!
Looks good, and you'll get those extra years of use over a second-hand one.
Nice rig a lot of them in Saskatchewan Canada. Hauling peat moss from the bogs to processing plant
Sharp looking setup
Congrats on the new trailer
Looks very similar to what I used to build at Western Trailers in Boise ID.
Thumbs up
Nice looking trailer
No doubt a great investment. Better than stock market.
Wes, I thought of a channel that uses walking floors and they haul all sorts of things, flint creek transport. The guy seems real nice and talks about their company and what they haul a lot. Pallets of stuff is one thing I never thought about. Just to give you some ideas of what else you can haul. Even when you don't need compost I bet you could find a back haul of something
Crazy nice trailer and I know you're proud to have it.
Great trailer and investment. Saves tie down time. wind loss, fertilizer cost and fees to move your own grains. Just the savings vs lease makes it a two year pay back before you add in tax savings. Will you buy or lease the spreader this year. With the fixing from last year, get a good deal.
Those are cool trailers. The guy that brings my mushroom compost has a small tarp at the front to clean out the floor as it walks back.
Never seen a trailer like this. Looks good. Let us know how it works long term
I can testify about dump trailers with materials like that because it will stick and will put it on the ground especially if it is loaded too heavy to one side trust me I know from experience it's not a good feeling, good looking trailer.
you could use a leaf blower instead of a broom to clean out the floor just wear a dust mask oh and since your gonna bring compost back you could sell compost too what you don't use on your fields just a thought I'd imagine it would see pretty good and with the red truck and the dump bed you could do small load deliveries as well just a thought
need to weld a deflector plate across back to help protect the lights, helps a lot on ours
congratulations! beautiful trailer! i think "mycelium" is the word you looking for at the end of the video
Most european walking floors come with an internal door that has a vynl mat on it similar to ur carpet idea but its fixed to the door . And the door plus mat clean the box out very well . My last walking floor emptied in about ten mins i hauled scrap metal . Lime . Plasterboard that was broken up for recycling and anything else i could get in it . Palleted stuff is easy to load in and out as is anything u load in them . They the best self unloading and loading trailers they have replaced a lot of tipping trailers in europe ours have chassis rails but i think the titan one is frameless . Like urs .
Awesome job wes
Bloody nice Wes
I would think a belt bottom trailer would work better for corn and your spent but not for hauling hay, nice trailer!
Keep an eye on the valve body under the trailer. The delivery company we had at the mill used live floors and the seals on the body would go out often.
I like your new trailer.
Like the new trailer .
I've replaced floor pieces like that. I work at a trailer manufacturer that builds aluminum and steel dump trailers along with flat beds and drop decks
Nobody has mentioned one of the biggest benefits of this trailer, No More Strapping loads down :) That's got to be worth quite a bit just on it's own
ive been waiting for the video of the trailer
For the same price as a new trailer, you could have bought a used trailer and rebuilt it a couple times and still wished you'd bought a new trailer instead. I hope this Dorsey gives you many years of solid performance.
I doubt it, he said used trailers were way over priced, and parts are not cheap plus the time
I haul mushroom compost all the time in a dump trailer. It has a liner and we sprinkle a little sand on the floor first. Always open the tarp before dumping. No issues. Washing out afterwards takes awhile.
Every time I bought a can of mushrooms they were grown in Pennsylvania, the other day bought three cans and after I got home I noticed on the can "Product of Poland", I didn't even know we traded with Poland. I don't have anything against Poland but would prefer to support American farmers so in the future I'll check the label closer. Get that pesky air leak fixed Wes, they drive me batty too.
Buy fresh they will always be grown in the usa
We have a guy bring sawdust in a walking floor and he loves it just be sure it’s not in gear with a load on it or you’ll be buying doors for it lol and be careful with grain you get really heavy really quick
Pulled on for years,
KEEP IT GREASED WITH GOOD GREASE, I USED LUCUS RED & TACKY.
I hauled wood chips, they liked to get hung up.
Super Trucker Dan Channel is an OTR, owner-operator. He bought a Dorsey, & they offered him a sponsorship. If, yes IF, you feature the Dorsey Trailer predominantly, it might be worth a conversation w/ them. Dan bought his, paid retail, never expecting a factory contact for promotional opportunity.
Wes wont blow smoke up their asses about the trailer, so I doubt they'd want a sponsorship
@@The_JEB From What I have seen w/ the Dorsey products, Wes will benefit regardless. Glad he chose a US Made product. 🗽, Ignored the 27% exchange rate.
I prefer his method, research what is out there, work out what he needs, then be objective about what it is like to own. While I'm sure sponsorship would be nice, probably wait a few months for his review.
@@bedeorama9881 Nothing wrong with video on the go. If any issues arise, viewers learn first hand how they are resolved. If Wes is willing & the company agrees, there is no reason to postpone. Not building a rocket to Mars here.
Should paint the front fenders on the tractor black, would look so good with that trailer.
I thought of that.
@@onelonleyfarmer id say do it, gunna spend a lot of time pulling that new trailer, might as well do some easy work to make the tractor match. easy as in dont have to paint the whole body to make it match and look good. Im just talking from a design perspective, i know you gotta get shit done and probably dont have the time.
Looks great and you did a good job going over it and showing us. Check out Super Trucker Dan, he has a Dorsey flatbed and loves it and has some sort of a deal with them
I will check it out
Nice trailer!!!
Nice trailer, Wes.
That trailer is pretty cool
Thanks for showing how it works, I was about to CZcams it 😂
Few improvements, if you will. To me they lift the wrong axle, it should be the last one lifted so it would be more agile.
And there should be a rubber flap on the rear attached on just the end of that floor hinged, and when you close the doors lift it inside to lean on the doors. It could be just enough long that it covers that rear end/lights etc when you open the doors it falls out first..
Hi from England. The white stuff like spiders webs in the compost is called mycelium. Love watching your videos and listening to your political views. We have similar problems here but now we've left the European Union we can control our own borders again. The new trailer looks awesome. 👍
