    Do Not: 1. Operate the floor with the doors closed.
    Do Not: 2. Stand behind the trailer or in the discharge area when the floor is operating.
    Do Not: 3. Make adjustments to the unloading mechanism with the floor operating.
    Do Not: 4. Operate unloader when protective covers and screens are not in place.
    Do Not: 5. Go underneath the trailer when floor is operating.
    Do Not: 6. Leave the trailer unattended while the unloader is in operation.
    Do Not: 7. Enter the trailer while the floor is in operation.
    Always:
    1. Disengage the trailer from the (P.T.O.) hydraulic power unit before service and maintenance.
    2. Shut off the power supply before going underneath the trailer.
    3. Stay away from any oil leaks when hydraulic pressure is high.
    4. Shut off the hydraulic power take off unit (P.T.O) before moving the trailer.
    Operation of your KEITH® Running Floor II® Unloader
    UNLOADING
    1. Before beginning to unload, make sure the trailer door is open.
    2. To unload with your KEITH® Running Floor II® system, pull the control valve handle all the way out.
    3. Make sure that the ball valve, located between the pressure and return lines, is in the closed (run) position. This ball valve is used for the emergency shut-off.
    4. Engage the P.T.O., then bring the tractor engine up to the predetermined unloading RPM. Your trailer floor should now be operating.
    5. To stop the floor at any time during the loading or unloading process, switch the ball valve to the open (stop) position.
    LOADING
    1. To load with your bi-directional KEITH® Running Floor II® system, simply turn the control valve handle parallel to the ground and push it all the way in. Then follow instructions 3, 4 and 5 listed above.

    Just learned about the "walking floor" today... I was looking at trash getting dumped at a recycling center and wondered what type of "ram" could possibly be pushing the entire length of that very long trailer? The trash just kept coming out like a cartoon or something! Was thinking maybe a giant "balloon" or inflatable bladder was in there or something. Thanks for this. Another guy's demo video eventually got me here...

      Glad this helped explain WALKING FLOOR technology! No giant balloons are ever used in the making of our videos! ;-)

    Assuming the semi and terminal ramp was leveled and the terminal had room behind the gate. Would this system be strong enough to self unload a full load of pallets (EUR 120x80)? Or lets say you can only unload with forklift at the back (I assume these have side door system, but looking past that). Does the system have an easy "stop and go". Could you without too mush hassle have the system push pallets to the back, wave after wave without making it so it just pushed the pallets off the semi?

    • @KeithMfgCo
      @KeithMfgCo  Před 3 měsíci +1

      Yes, the WALKING FLOOR system is strong enough to self unload a full trailer of pallets. The ideal use of the WALKING FLOOR technology is with bulk materials. While it does provide flexibility in what customers can haul by allowing them to backhaul pallets and/or bales, we would not recommend a WALKING FLOOR system for a trailer exclusively handling pallets. For that purpose, we would recommend our Freight Runner system: czcams.com/video/2Phec-vuYFc/video.html or Pallet Walker system czcams.com/video/qyhKrdsC7uM/video.html. Please let us know if you have additional questions that we may answer for you.

    In the event that the system becomes pressurized, is there a safe method to discharge the pressure?

    • @KeithMfgCo
      @KeithMfgCo  Před 3 měsíci

      Thank you for your question. KEITH systems are designed to self-relieve the pressure as long as the pump is off and there is nothing blocking the path to the return tank. If the system is off and it is pressurized, (which our service department says would be unlikely and has never seen before), you could crack a fitting to relieve the pressure. Should this happen, we strongly recommend that you contact our service department to determine the cause.

    I know someone who transports these trailers. He says you have to keep the handbrake off because unloading pushes the whole truck forward, and it makes unloading easier if you move to give the "cargo" space to land.

    • @KeithMfgCo
      @KeithMfgCo  Před 7 lety

      Hi, Charlotte. Thanks for the comment. The KEITH® WALKING FLOOR® system works using the
      principle of friction, so you are absolutely correct. During the discharge of the
      load out of the trailer, material can build up on the ground. At this point, the
      pile on the ground must be pushed away from the unloading trailer or the
      trailer must roll forward. In most cases it is much better to allow the trailer
      to move forward, as this allows the load to come out of the trailer much
      quicker and it also reduces the chance of material to be pushed under the
      moving slats of the WALKING FLOOR® system.

      Thank you for the question Matt. Yes, it will empty the entire trailer. The floor slats of the WALKING FLOOR system run the entire length of the trailer. Thanks for visiting our CZcams channel, Apurva.
      When operating the WALKING FLOOR® system in freezing conditions, we recommend the following:
      Stop all three cylinders at the beginning of the unloading cycle. As soon as the unloading starts, the floor slats will move together to the discharge end of the trailer, freeing the load from the side walls.
      In very cold climates, KEITH also recommends using 3.5” bore cylinders, as opposed to 3.0”.

    What can this do that a dump trailer can't do?

    • @KeithMfgCo
      @KeithMfgCo  Před 9 měsíci

      In general, a WALKING FLOOR trailer will have a higher capacity than a standard dump trailer. Examples where it would be more advantageous to use a WALKING FLOOR trailer include in areas with trees and/or overhead utilities--there is no risk of hitting them because the trailer is unloaded horizontally with no tipping required. Trailers can unload indoors with low overhead conditions. You can also unload on uneven ground and next to other equipment without the risk of tip-overs.

      Jon,
      Thank you for viewing our KEITH WALKING FLOOR system on CZcams:
      The KEITH WALKING FLOOR system was actually designed to Save Money. If you have a need to unload large volumes of any kind of bulk material there is not a more cost effective way to do this. Most WALKING FLOOR trailers haul large volumes of material, up to 150 cubic yards. A typical KEITH WALKING FLOOR trailer can easily unload this in 5/6 minutes, very efficient. Also, most WALKING FLOOR equipped trailers are set up to unload in any location, no additional equipment needed to assist with unloading.
      Thanks

      Thanks for viewing our video, Soul Brother.
      KEITH WALKING FLOOR systems actually unload relatively quickly. If set up properly, a WALKING FLOOR system is capable of easily unloading bulk material in a standard 45’ trailer in less than ten minutes. One of the main reasons that so many companies own trailers equipped with KEITH WALKING FLOOR unloaders is the diversity of the trailers-the ability to haul a variety of products, increasing profitability. The WALKING FLOOR system is capable of transporting both bulk material and palletized material. This cannot be done with most standard curtain side trailers.
