Since discovering the clearance section at my local plant store, I ONLY buy from there. You get amazing deals, can sometimes find rare plants and rescue them from being thrown away and since they were so dirt cheap you won't be so bummed if they die.

Some of the name tags on the plants are incorrect. They also get rid of them because they probably just got a new shipment in and needed room. Sometimes just a bit of a health issue they will get pulled
At times they get in really different types of plants you may never see. I got a mistletoe cactus and it is really something to see. I paid full price because I knew it would be gone before there was ever a mark down. I also get the Orchids before they get tossed.

I'll have to go to Lowe's or Home Depot and see if there are any plants on clearance. The new arrivals are hard to resist, though. Those Schumi Red Peperomias are nice, but I like the green version (Emerald Ripple) better. The last couple have been tough to keep alive. One thing that worries me about the plant is there are all these stems growing out from one "trunk" that's in the soil and it seems like the stems make it too top heavy, or maybe there's not enough soil (support) around the base of the plant. I have a Watermelon Peperomia that I hope will survive. The leaves look great, none have split. Seems like a common problem because the leaves are round and domed. As the leaves grow bigger, some will split at the edge. I want all my Watermelon Peperomia leaves to look nice, but even at the plant nurseries you'll see those plants with a few imperfect leaves.

I am on the hunt for that agleonema! It looked like the frosted ghost...but their is another one floating around now that is inbetween a golden bay and frosted ghost! Everywhere but here is that pale silver one! I have to be patient :) thanks for your videos....oh that one lipstick plant is way easier...my twisted one is harder...mine still alive....under strong grow lights....and I heard the varigated lipstick is easy...but same as you....way way harder....but grasilis would do fine for you!...glad your friends rescued some cuties!
