Obviously this game and Ohio State will stand out the most, but let's not forget their perseverance in the Nebraska and Penn State games, having a lead for most of it only to see it evaporate and needing a late score to take back the lead. Win or lose in the cfp im finally happy with an end to the season as a Wolverines fan. They established an identity and, with the exception of the MSU game, a bit of consistency. Fairly mistake free QB play. They finally feel like they matched their production to their potential instead of flaming out at the end of the year like they have so far under Harbaugh. Proof that this team can finally win those big games that have eluded them over the past few years. I could’ve cried from pure elation after the final whistle in this game. At long last we’ve arrived in this new era of college football. GO FUCKING BLUE 〽️

@@milkschalklate exactly! It just feels like a huge relief to know we can actually compete at this level. Plus the end of this season will have to be great for recruiting in the future because Harbaugh finally got the Ohio State sized chip off his shoulder. Hopefully those kids who were/will be on the fence will see this success and help contribute to it in the future. I think Harbaugh HAD to have this kind of season this year or his future would’ve been very shaky. I’m just glad to be rewarded for sticking with this team and getting to see them reestablish themselves as real competitors.

Amazing how this is only the third 12-win season in school history for the winningest program in college football history. Shows you how many seasons weren't 12 and 13 game seasons back in the day.
For many years, the Big Ten only allowed one team to go to a bowl game.
The college football season used to be a lot shorter.

Should keep in mind the age of their program when talking about them being the winningest program in history. They are one of the 10 oldest programs in the country and almost none of the ones older than them really compete nationally today.

As a buckeye, I think bama is going to be the only competition you have, and the only way they win it (bama) is if Hall uses his legs. Your line's are playing dominant football, and bama has struggled all year on the offensive front. I hate to say this, but TTUN is the most complete team in the nation right now.

Is it just me.., or have our TEs and WRS been making some crazy sweet catches the last few games ? Not really one guy dominating a whole game but it seems there’s at least two random catches from different receivers every game that are one handed , or diving , high pointing etc etc . Love that! I'm an Alabama fan but I'm very happy for Michigan and to see them get things turned around up there. Been a long time since Michigan was in National Title contention and it's good for College Football to see them back in the mix.
If not for that bullshit against State this would be Michigan at number one pretty much undisputed and they would get to beat up on Cincinnati. Either way this is way beyond where people expected them to be so I'll take it.
On the upside, Michigan State is a 10-2 top 10 team. Not a bad loss at all!

Iowa fan here. This was easily the most pathetic game I have ever seen. Iowa was never expected to win this game, and absolutely nobody talked about them. They only made it here through a couple of scrappy games they weren’t meant to win. This game was their chance to prove that they were a legitimately good team. Instead of putting up a fight, Ferentz’s coaching let out a whimper. Hats off to Michigan for nuking a baby. Iowa will forever be ignored until Ferentz changes the way they play, and I doubt that will happen anytime soon.

Iowa has only been playing these little collages like Kent, that's the only reason we have most of our wins, then we face an actual team like Wisconsin or Indiana. bam we lose.
It doesnt matter if you lose, losing only shows you have something to work on. Can't expect a team to show up and play but atleast you guys made it this far.
UM fan here and I agree, Ferentz has to change philosophies because I think the players and the toughness is there. I wasn’t comfortable until way late in the second half. This game scared me a week ago and I think the coaching “mindset” is what did them in.
As a Nebraska fan, this was glorious watching Iowa getting their asses kicked up and down the field, congrats Michigan
I had such high expectations for Harbaugh when he was hired. I thought he'd be the one to knock OSU out of the top spot in the Big Ten. I just didn't think it would take this long to get it done. Congratulations to the players and to the coaches for winning the Big Ten and good luck in the playoffs. Go Big Blue!

It's going to be interesting on the new top 4 positions, will they keep Georgia in the top 4, and which spot. In my opinion they should make Alabama and Georgia rematch in round one. MICH and CIN should play in the 1st round. the SEC should not have a chance for a SEC National Championship game.
This. Michigan has a national following. The committee needs to not worry at all about ratings and be more concerned about whether they want to stink up the CFP matchups and create unnecessary controversy, or just once and for all decide the ALA/GA SEC title game result is a fluke and have them go Rnd 2 right away and let other schools be represented properly. I am just annoyed at GA's performance today. The SEC actually hurt themselves with this crap.

Being a Buckeye fan, it’s good to see that Michigan is for real. I mean we have to let them beat us once in a while or else there’s no rivalry and they’ll want to stop playing us. As I said when I watched Michigan beat OSU, that was the biggest win in 20 years for Michigan, so it’s been a long drought. Anyway, congratulations to Michigan.
