- On 1st August 2010, a 000 call was made from Mount Druitt in Western Sydney. A little girl had been tucked into bed by her mother the night before, but as morning broke, she had vanished. The call to police that morning would be the beginning of an investigation into one of the most shocking and appalling crimes Australia had seen.

I really hate those pat answers that people give, thinking they're helping: "God's will" "Gone to a better place" "All in god's plan/hands" "It was their time" -- just awful things to say. That little girl's honesty is awesome.

Yeah. I have never understood that "they're in a better place now" nonsense that people always use. I understand that, for the most part, they're just trying to help but... that kind of rubbish doesn't help anything.

But the POS, self centered, abusive monster is too self righteous, too worried about what everyone would think of her giving her child to someone else and MOST IMPORTANTLY She needs to “be in control”, “only wants their child there so they can abuse them and it’s a way of thinking she is in control and has all the power. They both should have been put to death immediately after the guilty verdict.
16 to 22 years for her child’s life and burning body. This kind of evil can’t be fixed. Life should mean life.

A lot of people suspected Christie from the beginning. Crocodile tears, making no effort to look for her daughter, her nastiness towards those trying to help. Terrible to think what this child went through

The way she started the emergency call was a big red flag. Instead of saying "my daughter is missing! I need help. We cant find her anywhere", she says 3 or 4 non-urgent things before saying her daughter is missing.
People seeking true help normally get to the point within one or two sentences.
The first minutes of this video say it all: “Have you checked all the unit?”…..”I’ve just gotten up” and several sentences later: “She’s not here. I’ve looked everywhere.”
And that press conference. The guy literally never made eye contact. And the mom didn’t say anything but incoherent rambling. If your child is missing I’d want you to hear every word that comes out my mouth CLEARLY
I can't believe the mother wasn't arrested at the hospital when they saw a cigarette burn on Kiasha. Wtf is wrong with people allowing her to keep her daughter. A bruise could be explained but not a cigarette burn.

her life might have been saved then, if some action was taken. Why on earth did she not hand her little girl over to childrens services? After all ,she had called her father and said she was going to hurt or kill Kiesha? And he just stays quiet? What a terrible group of people. Many people failed this child, but the parents are responsible, not anyone else. I will never understand how a parent can do this to their own child.

Kiesha received more love from total strangers than she ever did from those monsters that she called 'parents'.
I knew it was them from the 6 minute mark. During that appeal for news of her whereabouts, Robert said “She WAS always happy…”. You don’t use past tense if you still believe they are alive. 101 of guilt in interviews! RIP Kiesha, you deserved so much better!!

My mother died in 1997 and I still sometimes refer to her in the present tense. This immediately jumped out to me as well.
Can’t believe they had the audacity to ask to go to the funeral. Absolutely no shame or remorse. All the obvious signs of abuse were there and it’s crazy she was able to get that baby back. I really hope the police can pursue Aidens case and give this soulless monster more time cause she truly doesn’t deserve a second of freedom! Rip baby girl 💗

The Authorities in Australia refuse to do anything to protect children being abused. This is a rampant issue here- all the talk of cyclical abuse in this story is because even with authorities KNOWING a child is being harmed- just like they knew in this case- they do nothing. This case is not rare here. On top of that, after years of torture, then murder, then burning and hiding the body of their SECOND child dead in their care- the parents got ridiculously light sentences as is also the norm in Australia

One of the biggest problems is the department is under-funded & under-staffed!
Social-welfare workers are under-paid, overworked & then burn-out, so they leave, meaning that cases are shifted to other staff-members. It's no wonder abused children aren't receiving the attention they need!

I am a Foster mother for teenagers, and through the years I have heard so many terrifying stories. It is also a very huge problem in the USA, and sadly it will get worse now that so many women do not have access to legal, safe reproductive care.

The most infuriating part is that the courts rightfully so, gave custody to the dad. But then reversed that decision for no reason. Courts notoriously side with mothers even when they have evidence that the "mother" is a monster. Had they left her alone with the dad, she'd be alive today. Poor baby.

This whole case is beyond disturbing. So many people failed this child. Not all people who are abused go on to abuse others so the judge siting that as a reason is just a cop out. Allison wasn’t watching closely . If she was as close as she says she was to this child, then she saw signs of abuse. I think she likes the spotlight and I think she failed this little girl too. This should never have happened if people were responsible and did their jobs . So utterly ridiculous and angering . Rip sweet Kiesha. I’m so very sorry you were betrayed by SO many. 🙏🏼💙

I agree. Allison couldn’t possibly have been ignorant to the abuse. She seemed to thrive on all the attention. Her grief seemed very contrived. The sad truth is that nobody cared about Keisha. Not a soul in this world.

the moment the mother start speaking to the emergency operator u can tell with utmost ease, that this is the voice of guilt, not panic.
Imagine being the neighbor and defending them so fiercely, only to find out she was helping them. I cannot imagine.

This makes me so sad. I never comment but as someone who struggles with mental health and struggles to just look after myself in general I made a decision long ago that I wouldn’t have kids. If I can’t give everything I have to a child I wouldn’t bring them into the world. It’s not fair to them. I wish more people decided not to have kids when it’s clear they aren’t fit or ready to be parents. RIP Angel ❤ So proud of Alison.

I did the exact same thing. I couldn't provide for myself and the last thing I could ever ever do to my own child is being them into a world of poverty and hardship. This life is for the people with money and family and I wasn't lucky enough to have either of those two things. Poverty is poverty. And there isn't one excuse for people who knowingly cannot provide a great life to their own child and still go ahead and have one. I'm happy with my decisions. Kids need us to be able to provide. The World is too harsh for battling generation after generation.

If only more women could realize that not everyone should have children and that not everyone should have more than one. Children are crazy expensive. I married at 25 I thought he was a good provider and would be a good father and husband. I was so very wrong. I was played and struggled in a bad marriage for 14years. He was perfect until my youngest was born and the the cracks started to show. The night we left it was me, a 5yr old and a 2yr old and the cloths we were wearing. I knew that night 1. We would not go back. 2. I was done having children as I knew raising the 2 I had alone would be hard and financially almost impossible. And 3. I would not even think about dating until my children were grown and did not need or want lol my full attention. Now I have zero desire to date. I'm very happy and content and I cannot think of a single thing a man could change. I won't waste my time or his. I have so much respect for you. I truly hope your life is happy and full of love and happiness.💜

It's been a tough life but I'm glad I made my life the way it is without children lord knows that I'm a very good example as to how hard it can be. The family knew, the friends who came over their house knew, at least some of the neighbors noticed. It took a village to fail this child.
This little girl didn't stand a chance. The horror that was her life started with the horror that was her mother's life. So tragic.
Aidan died, numerous red flags, like what is actually wrong with authorities? Kiesha attended school 4 times, 4 times, and tbh nothing was done, this little girl was physically abused on a regular bases, not allowed to go to school, as teachers would see, and action would be taken. The amount of people who can not have children, would make caring, loving, compassionate parents. I'd still fight to the death for my child, she is 26. rip Aidan, Kiesha, and Chris
Authorities get absolutely dragged when they take children away from parents, especially ones like that mother in this one.

It's not surprising they think very long and hard before removing children considering the terrifying history of abuse by Catholic institutions and care facilities in general and the literal extermination of aboriginals by the government in Australia. Then there is the forced removal of aboriginal children for forced conversion to Christianity and Western upbringing which also led to brutal abuse.
Aboriginal children have gone through hell at the hands of white Christians and so they think very long and hard before taking their children away. A lot of the cyclical abuse in the aboriginal community comes from years of abuse by white Christians. They brought alcoholism, drug abuse, sexual abuse, slavery and mass extermination programs to the aboriginal people of Australia.
You can imagine that they don't react well to whites coming into their communities and taking their children "for their welfare" as every time they have said that in the past those kids face hell on earth.
Chris does not deserve to be resting in peace, he was as bad as the mother!

What really breaks my heart is when they show pictures or videos of young victims, who are born into terrible situations. They are trying to be happy, no matter the hand they were dealt. They didn't deserve what happened to them. What greatness, and true happiness could they have achieved in life, if given the chance?
Maybe they'd end up like their parents or they'd rise above. Who knows? They could've done anything and didn't get the chance. Even when born in shitty circumstances, one deserves a chance.

If CPS is anything like what it is in QLD. You can report, report, report, report , they do not update you, if you don't see the kid or aren't allowed too, you have absolutely no knowledge of what's occurred. There's also the fact CPS seem to sit on their hands a fair bit depending on the case.

@cocean158 I don't think you're grasping what occurred. There were reports, and CPS did nothing. Also , when you've made a report and the child disappears and CPS aren't allowed to tell you anything, is your first thought the kids dead or CPS have done their job for once.

The fire department (CPS) shows up, verified your house (your grandchild) is indeed on fire then leaves without doing anything. You get in your car and go to work like you do everyday. Why are you shocked when you get home more than 8 hours later that your house has burned down?
@cocean158 how do you even get to that analogy? They specifically said family, friends, and school teachers reported it (numerous reports) . Family members are limited in what they can do regarding information and permission. Concerned family are more often than not cut off from the family members once they voice their opinion or note an injury. It's avoidance.
Also, CPS seem to meet repeat complaints with the look that they're investigating, but nothing ever seems to culminate.

I lived with a lot of stress as a young mother and know what that can do, but if you're at a breaking point you walk away, never ever take frustration out on anyone, especially children, animals, disabled, elderly, anyone who is vulnerable. That is inexcusable.
Count to 10 walk away.
When I used to get angry & frustrated with 3 small kids - I'd go downstairs to chill for 10 mins. I would never have allowed myself to lose control & hurt my children. I still tell Mum's to this day to make sure your kids are safe then remove yourself for a break - it works.

I was shocked by the friends and family who ignored the abuse that Kiesha went through. Too many people were aware of what this child went through; including both sets of grandparents. So many people knew of the physical, verbal and emotional abuse, including the mother's best friend. She had been missing for a month at least and none seemed to be interested including those closest to her. What those people were interested in was getting in front of the newscameras
Yeah. All those weeping neighbours and friends beating their chests after the child was found murdered. Where were they when the child was alive and suffering torture at the hands of her mother? They are hypocrites and they should hang their heads in shame rather than showing their faced on TV. Disgusting.
What about all the teachers, as well as hospitals, not to mention the CPS, all of them let that little girl down, CPS were even told by the child that her mom had burnt her with a fag and she was sent home with her. I think everyone let this little angel down, people with more power to protect her than the neighbours.
The video said family and teachers reported injuries many times. Keisha only went to school 4 times. She didn’t have much contact with teachers.
What baffles me is why CPS didn’t do anything when they found her bruised and cigarette-burned!

I had a very similar childhood to Kiesha, I am 42 and I still flinch when people make sudden moves, I scream when I bump into people and any unexpected noise startles me. It scars you for life and you never heal. I hope this doesn't sound mean, but Kiesha is in a much better place now. As a young child, I believed all the torture was my fault, and I would pray to God every night to let me die so the pain stops. My heart breaks for Kiesha and her little brother, and all the innocent, defenseless children that fall victims to these monsters. May her abusers rot in jail

Her voice on the emergency call varies , going from crying hysterically to being suddenly coherent when answering questions. She didn’t sound like a distraught mother to me, she seemed to be garnering attention.

I feel like Aussie is sometimes like New Zealand when it comes to sentencing. NZ has only given a life sentence once that i can think of - to the mosque mass shooter. Murderers dont get actual life in NZ, and obviously not is Aussie.

There's nothing where we go when we die, but it's the most blissful nothingness. No stress, no fear, no discomfort- no sense of self or others. It's absolute peace- like being in the cosmic womb. And maybe, someday, we are reborn from there and given life anew.

She’s in strict protection, she won’t ever cross paths with regular prisoners, she will only be around other strict protection inmates.
Strict protection is specifically for high profile cases, it’s not like regular protection.
On the last few years of her sentence she will be moved to a unit in a minimum security prison or department of corrections unit in the public where she will get a name change, go shopping, have overnights at her family’s house, go to the cinema etc and will be released with department of housing home and a brand new name.
I’ve seen it happen with other kid killers, it’s disgusting.
Back in the day officers would give them a touch up but these days everything is recorded and too risky for them.

I knew that the mom's crying was more a wailing sadness over her role in this child's probable death, rather than a panicked response that any loving parent would convey in an emergency. While everyone grieves differently, panic is pretty much uniform in parents of a missing child.

His stuff is even better than JCS and Matt Orchard combined because he was a prosecuting attorney for many years and has access to documents (and knows how to sus out the missed evidence) that absolutely prove guilt/innocence. This happened about 2 mins from where I lived. The outpouring of grief was felt throughout the area. The amount of gifts left for Kiesha was just amazing. This beautiful little girl was dealt the worst hand with the mother she got. When the news broke that her mother and step father did it, the community was devastated. During the case and after it was done, the worst thing was all the abuse Keisha has suffered throughout her short life was horrific. There is a special spot in hell for those two evil people. RIP Kiesha and her dad. At least they are together again.

@@lauriedavidson1585it's not fair. The foster care system is overwhelmed and understaffed in USA, UK, Australia. People would rather spend thousands of dollars on fertility treatments than thinking of taking in a child from the foster system. It's their right but it's still part of the problem in my opinion. Because of the lack of reputable reliable safe foster homes, CPS is more reluctant to remove children unless there's a Chinese parade of red flags in their face

Kiesha was failed by the system. It's crazy to think if the police and services had taken her father's reports seriously and given him custody as originally planned, she would've been alive

In the 000 call made on 1st Aug, some time after Kiesha's death and disposal, Kristy states she has a 3 week old baby. So she killed one child within days of bringing a new baby into the world?! Cruel, twisted, unnatural.

I remember this case so well. Every time I heard a news update or thought of that little girl I would burst into tears. I have never been so affected by a news story I have no personal connection with. If only she had the outpouring of love shown after her disappearance and passing in her everyday life. 😢 I’m crying again.
Albert said what everyone was thinking. Kristi was pissed she didn’t think of the flea market first, so she could pocket it all of course. That poor child looked like she had already lived 10 lives. She looked so worn down and sad.
Seems insane to think none of her family knew what was going on in all her six short years alive. It's not hard to say let me take her, you're not coping. It breaks my heart to think no one stepped in to do something in one of the best places to live in the world and that her reality was so deplorable and hopeless. So sad she never had the life we all take for granted. If you see something that makes you wonder, say something, do something. Don't let this happen. This is the worst of humanity.
I feel so incredibly bad for Chris he lost 2 children and then his own life so tragically I just hope he gets to be reunited with his babies now. And the fact the keisha was given back to her mother when he initially got custody and he wasn't informed of that fact makes my blood boil, such a preventable death

Living in Sydney, I remember this case very well and still think about it. The thing that struck me most about photos of Kiesha was she only ever smiled with her mouth. Not her eyes. I’ve never seen a child do that before. Her ‘home’ life must have been hellish. 💜

He kind of had to cognitively learn facial expressions instead of intuitively picking them up... almost as if they're a foreign language and his accent is still a little off.
Kieshas extended family all seem so loving after her death. I can’t help but feel sceptical and angry towards them though, she was beaten her entire life. The odd occasion she went to school the bruises were spotted straight away. Her body had clear signs of long-existing injuries sustained over a lengthy period. Her abuse was visible. Her mother clearly acted with resentment towards her child. How did none of them see the misery Kiesha was going through? They must have. And in that case, how could they be so complicit?
If a child I knew was clearly hurt by her mother, even a child I had no relation too, I could not sleep until that child was safe. I’d make sure that child knew what was happening to them was wrong, they do not deserve that and Id be on at the authorities every single day. And this was family. How do you not turn to that mother and tell her if she doesn’t stop abusing that child you will harass her all the way to jail? It’s all very well to say you love her, but love is wanting to see someone safe and happy. Where was that when Kiesha was alive? Especially after they knew one child died under her care already. The mother was clearly willing to pass her on, as her family how did no one step in and offer to take Kiesha in?
Everyone just sat there like statues with their mouths zipped? Rest in peace angel. It hurts to think of the things children go through with no one to help them. 💔
Infuriating isn’t it. She went to school 4 times between the start of the school year in early feb and was reported missing in august. The school went to the house 7 times and didn’t think contact the police and welfare services was necessary???? So many failures of protection in this case it’s unbelievable.

These deadbeat dads & their families always do that shit... don't see their child for years & then do sad interviews saying how much they loved their baby. Her father said "Me & my family were left to deal with all this[the funeral]..." That funeral is the only thing he'd ever done for his daughter, aside from child support (which probably was taken whether he liked it or not)

“A little nudge”? It’s hard to imagine the life that little girl was forced to live…🙏🏻The first red flag was the emergency call…She’ll be out of prison way to soon to live a life, something she denied her daughter.
I can't help but be incredibly frustrated with authorities. She said she didn't want to care for Kiesha and even said that she would kill her. She was found to have injured Keisha on many occasions, but was given a slap on the hand. Kiesha's dad voiced his concern for his daughter. All of these warning signs were dismissed or, at the very least, overlooked. And then, of course, there was Aiden. I appreciate that Kristi was abused as a child and how that can impact her ability to parent, but there are ways to prevent pregnancies. I don't know Australian law, but her sentence is ridiculous. I hope Kiesha's sister is in a safe and loving home.
From her first phone call she was asked if she’d looked for Keisha and she said she “No I’ve just got up”. Then she said the opposite a minute later. Straight away I commented accusing her of murder before I knew the story. Poor police work not to notice that.
You need to take into account the long and brutal history of abuse by whites against aboriginal children. Aboriginals do not want their children taken by whites as white Christians raped and abused them on mass in the past.
As for the sentence. The USA is a prison state which locks up more of its citizens than any nation in history. With 4% of the global population, they have 20% of all prisoners on earth. Yet, they have by far the worst crime of any developed nation. So mass incarceration and brutal slave labour conditions are not working in the USA. America believes in locking up citizens forever in brutal conditions. Other nation want to protect society and rehabilitate.
I don't think Americans are in any position to lecture other more peaceful cultures.
@@AnyoneCanSee I appreciate that, and with all respect and sincerity, my comment has nothing to do with anything other than the fact that this woman said she did not want her child and thought she would kill her, the history of abuse that was not taken seriously, and the fact that it resulted in the death of an innocent child. It wouldn't matter if she was white, Asian, or any other nationality; the warning signs, and words, were dismissed by authorities.
I imagine she only had the kid cause she was too dumb to figure out how contraception works.
Some agencies have the default mindset of family reunification but that is just wrong. It should be whoever can best take care of the child. Maybe a parent just needs a little extra support and reunification is possible, but no amount of support was going to help this situation. She didn’t want this kid and wasn’t mature enough to manage her own trauma.
After Gabriel Fernandez’s case this angel’s death has affected me deeply. What a tragic life this innocent child had to endure.

One of the worst child torture cases in Australia, yet this isn't a one off. It happens far too often, like the little girl from Hawkes Nest in NSW who was abused and neglected by her entire family. She was found dead, mummified, socks infused with her skin and ants crawling all over her.
It's only going to get worse with the current financial and housing issues.

I had an abusive mother who smacked me around, withheld affection, and humiliated me in public, and she excused her actions by saying she was just 'teasing' and that I my reactions to her 'teasing' were exaggerated. People took her at her word and I never got any help - not even from family members. To this day I have NEVER harmed a child even though I know I have a temper around them. I chose not to have children because I can't guarantee, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that I would be a good parent. This is always an option, and when these sickening abusers whine about their upbringing it disgusts me. If you have a temper around children, Don't Have Any. I know it can be a tough choice but look at what could happen. No child will ever suffer just because jerkweeds who don't understand my circumstances tell me I have a duty to my parents and family.

Here in Australia, i live about half an hour away from where this little girl lived and died.I remember seeing the first (and only) interview with the mother and stepdad, when they claimed she had "disappeared". I said they were as guilty as sin, it was obvious. One of the worst parts of this case was that in the months leading up to her death, the mother and stepdad had several large payments go into their bank accounts which they refused to explain. Everyone in the country was watching when the police made their statement that they had finally
made an arrest.
