My father used to work for Lister during the late 90s on the engine design and management program at Lister for the Lister Storm GTS, GTL GTM etc. Tiff Needell used to race with them against the Mclaren f1 and Porsche GT cars. The engines in the Storm were derived from TWR group C silk cut jag engines, and are arguably the best ever sounding V12’s. The lister storm road car equivalent of the GTS also held the record for fastest four seater car for a decade. A lot of history with lister, very underrated! Great vid really reminded me of all of this history!!

@@robertmario2003 no I wasn’t born at the the time he worked there, but I have seen a restored historic, and I have since been lucky to have sat in some other Le Mans cars he’s worked on when I was a kid (creation autosport, Rebellion racing mainly)
As an owner of an F-Type, I don't think you guys realize how loud the car is in person when it stock. Doing anything to the exhaust is pretty extreme and you can't hear it on video. I have aftermarket cats on mine and I'm about to make it even louder with a quicksilver exhaust too.
Agreed I have a 2019 F-type R dynamic, in my neighborhood I turn off dynamic, so I’m not disturbing them. The pops and crackles in 1st and 2nd gear can be ridiculous

what Lister does with jaguars is just out of this world. i got to ride in the lister f pace and i felt like i was going to die.

I honestly have always thought the f types are the best super car for budget out!
I remember seeing an old black Lister Jag XJS 7.0 supercharged 600+hp “Le Mans” at the 1990 Le Mans 24hrs. The lister was parked with a Ferrari F40, between them on Maison Blanche campsite was the cheapest 2 man tent with about 10 (24x dumpy bottle) crates of beer stacked up ready to be drank and the starts of a beer mountain acting as a windbreak. The Ferrari looked all sleek and sexy and the Lister was just a big brute, all big arches and intakes.
In 10 years when all performance upgrades are outlawed we can point back and thank projects like this.
Someone should tell the makers of the vehicles then because those fkers make them go faster every time 😂

Nice video. I was hoping that u would take advantage of showing off the rear fog-light feature. It was the perfect time to see how well it holds up (makes a difference) in that type of weather

There’s one of these just down the road from me. Looks like an absolute beast. Does it have the same handling issues the earlier F-Type had. Seen an unnatural amount of crashed F-Types advertised early on

@@ChefCam Lol, I'm 22.. the insurance is just under £2,000 per year, but only because I live in rural area. In London the insurance would be around £8,000 per year!

My F type is going to have the lister upgrade, it's not 666 BHP, but around 670, not a lot of money if you just go for the performance tune. Don't want any exhaust upgrades, as I don't want to break the cat's

Best sounding is very subjective , to one person it's the low rumble of an American V8 , to another person it's the high pitched scream of a flat plane Ferrari V8 . Some people even like the sound of a W16 , others think it sounds like a tractor . Others would argue over what sounds better a V10 or a V12 . And some are all about the sound of a 4 banger through a fart can exhaust , so you see it's very subjective .

Why has nobody bought this? Not 'hugely' more than a comparable SVR. Is it the worry of the Modifications?
It comes with a 7 year drive train warranty (for piece of mind) from Lister, so I don't think that is an issue. I'm the chap who VVS are selling this for. I believe it could appreciate, as jaguar go all electric, so I might just hold onto it. It's such a brilliant car. Makes anyone smile who I take out in it.
@@matthewbaxter2184 Yeah, I have been well aware of this car, and the green and yellow convertible for months. I inquired on the latter. I do like this one as I much prefer the coupe. Alas, right now, having put 2 deposits down on the new Emira and definitely wanting one I am no position to look at these anymore. I do think it is 5 - 10k over BUT the uniqueness might seduce somebody into snapping it up.
If you look at my personality on my CZcams channel you will see that this is EXACTLY my sort of car!
If this was summer 21 when I next expect a wad of cash I would likely come knocking.

Not a fan of the snaps, crackles, pops, or the lack of a V8 note on acceleration, just a deep whooshing sound.

oh yes. A beautiful, pure NA V8 growl. No fake crackles/pops and no farts when shifting.
4.2 overated in the sound department never mind the pops and bangs on this f type the actual sound of the engine is beautiful. It's very similar to that of the mustang GT coyote 5.0 n/a the engines are related after all.
