I have been a victim of my own demise within the conceal carry market, I have tried many different firearms. M&P’s, CZ, 1911, XD’s, Taurus and some others. For myself, the Glock 19 has met my requirements. All the firearms mentioned are great tools, just not for me. I am 5’11” , 185lbs, I can CCW appendix and carry 2 additional magazines with little to no problems. While the Glock platform has many downsides for others, I actually find it to be versatile because of the marketed accessories and other firearms that utilize Glock magazines. That being said, I run my Glock 19 stock, except for the sights, they’re iron. Don’t want to make this any longer, just a tool that works for me. Great review!! 👍

I’ve been through the gauntlet - started with revolvers - moved to the classics (P226, Beretta 92, CZ75, HKP30) and then intro 1911’s and into Nighthawks and Wilsons after my Springfield and Dan Wesson phases… I still have all of these guns… I then started with Glock and migrated to the supposed Glock Killers (M&P, VP9, PPQ, PDP, P320)… I bought 2 Wilson EDC X9’s - a perfect carry gun… and my final choice for every day carry - GLOCK 19 Gen 5 MOS with Ameriglo sights… The moral of the story is I love all good guns and platforms but the G19 is truly excellent, stands there test of time and is perfectly fit for purpose - that says a lot considering I have $4,500 guns in my collection. Glocks are so simple, so clean and function so well - true classics.

One thing ivee notice with more casual glock owners (dont shoot very often and dont keep up with maintenance or gear) is their stock sights tend to drift off after about 500 rounds or a couple gears. Very slowly, then they go to shoot one day and only then do they noticed their rear sight is lopsided about to fall off. Seen it with so many friends and family members. Ass far as shooting goes i agree the stock polymer sights are great(as long as theyre aligned)

There is a reason the Glock 19 is still the most popular pistol in the world, and it ain't b/c Glock just gives them away. The Glock 19 is the best combat pistol available today due to its size, reliability, support, etc. Nothing beats it! However, I wonder if the G19 would be a good option (in the long run) for a multi-use gun, including on-body IWB carry. For the time being, I'm not looking to carry anything larger than a P365XL or Glock 26, but I'm hoping to eventually get to a point where I can effectively conceal a 19 or something similar.

I have recently started buying Glocks and it's simply because they are so reliable and every small gun store has parts and magazines for them. My 1911's are fantastic but I don't like carrying them because if I have to use it in self defense I don't want my Wilson combat 1911 taken for who knows how long and what condition will it be in when I get it back?
