Have you seen the Watch Onn. 4k Pro Streaming Device? Who would have thought that WAL-MART would be the one trying out new formats for a Google TV streaming box? I JUST GOT THIS and am planning a full review but I wanted to give you guys a glimpse of the unboxing and 1st look at the new box.

The fire stick killer has arrived. I dumped my fire stick for the ONN 4k. No regrets whatsoever.

Not if you care about audio. While the Fire Cube or Max aren’t perfect (as of the last LonTV review that I saw) they are the next best thing to an nVidia Shield.
Good stuff. You could compare and perform usage tests on this 4k pro device with the previous $20 Onn offering and the Amazon Fire Stick.

Got it two day ago. Pretty snappy, like hooking up internet to usb hub, works great without touching any settings. I did not get the remote with backlit option
I don't get the 12 inch restriction. Mine is behind the TV because I had no use for the voice commands. So far, it's working simply fine.

I love this new onn pro 4k if sideloaded right u can just talk to this box and say hey google open up this app or turn tv on off great n smooth running ,love the storage i put about 60 apps on my box ,no buffering, sharper picture i love this new box been using the onn puck is not bad again if sideliaded again right .
There's fairly recently been shootouts between streaming devices to see who could actually passthrough hi Res music from Amazon music and apple music etc through streaming and most of the devices couldn't, including Amazon music Atmos through the firestick only works with the echo studio,, the shield can use everything from local storage but not music streaming from Amazon music in hi Res, have you an avr to see if this works with music,if it does it'll be a real game changer and the firestick you're stuck with the firestick internal Dac, no passthrough

Likely an individual streaming service or network issue. Doubt that's the box itself causing the buffering

I haven't explicitly tested that but it should be able to. I'll test tomorrow.
One biggest pro for me is the 32gb storage n 3 gb ram n all the 4 k licnecs for netflix n disney plus so u csn watch that stuff in 4k but its best specs for the $50 bucks device ever made period it be the new king budget device
Agree 100%. This thing feels as snappy as my Nvidia Shield

So far I am super impressed. Barely had much test time on it though. My main android box has been a Shield and that thing has been king of Google TV for years. Wondering if this thing can replace it. 😲
The star button is where the tv input button was to change tv inputs
Ahhh, that makes sense. I never used that button before so wasn't sure exactly what it was. Interesting button to replace with something else.
The star button is called the magic button. You can use it to customize your favorite app; only one app e.g. CZcams, Netflix etc and you can also use it as an input button for your tv.
You can use button mapper to customise any button to open three different apps, short press, long press and hold button for the third app.
Actually hard to believe you can't install sling tv cause it's in the Google store and can install it on the lower priced onn Google tv devices you have to be able to install it on the new one also
Just sideloaded and it works great. Kinda of a PIA that you have to sideload it. Hopefully it's just a kink in the play store that will be fixed. Who knows!
Does this device have the Tablo app?
As long as it's in the Google Play store, you can install it

Sideloading of apps works as expected. Just sideloaded the SlingTV app and it works great.
Nvidia shield is still the king of streaming devices
Shield is an amazing Google TV device... especially considering how old it is now!! Shows what a powerful processor and some decent specs can do.
One biggest con i know about there three random chance at 3 differant remotes its wild tho too
There a remote with a blue free tv button in middle of the remote n backlit feature as well n there black original remote no backlit is sad n there original remote white color too so its random wat remote u get in a chance

I am very disappointed with this box, because Sling TV can't be installed on this box and I use Sling TV to watch live TV.
No Sling?? I haven't tried that one yet, but why would that be restricted? Is it not in the Play store?
After set up go into the menu and find About. Click About. Go to android tv os build. Click android tv os build About 7 time or until you see " you are now a developer". Click back once you'll see systems . Scroll down the you will see Developer options. Click on developer options. Scroll down to "windows animation scale". You will see 3 animation scales. Set them to .5x . This will speed up any android device by double the current speed. This works on Google phones, watchs and anything else Google. It will not damage you device.
Sling is available,look in the Entertainment section
@TimTrozzo65 just tested and in the Play store it def says that the sling app is incompatible with this version. 😢 Not sure if this is a sling issue or something specific to device. Will try to side load

You're right - can't find audio passthrough settings anywhere in the audio settings. :(

Just a budget supermarket brand. Longevity will be an issue. I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole.
I totally understand the skepticism but I've been testing and using other Onn Google TV models for over a year and they've held up. Hard to argue when they're the only ones innovating right now in the Google TV space.
I had mine easily over 1 year and 6 months and so far it has been working great,I even added 512gb of storage and side loaded many different apps. I love it.👌👌👌
