    FIRST!!!!.... And if you have good ideas what we should implode next please let us know. Our vacuum pump is quite large and it took only about 30 seconds to implode this barrel so I can go even bigger than 200 liters. Or if I get heavy enough weight to lake I could maybe try some under water implosions :D

    This was interesting for a couple of reasons. First, I wasn't aware such a small pump could do this. Second, I realized that when the barrel crushes, the pressure inside is made similar to the outside pressure. So now, since the pressure inside the barrel is "normal" again, that little pump can suck out more air, and when some threshold is reached, the barrel crushes again. This can happen again and again until the pump cannot suck out enough air to reduce the pressure to the next crush level.

      @m4xwellmurd3r Před 7 lety +15

      InCrIpTiOn physics hasnt changed in 30 years. it hasnt changed ever. the hyperloop wont work because the math says it wont. the math has always said computers can work. weve had computers for decades. before digital computers we had mechanical computers. computers have always been an issue with the actual technology, not fighting physics.
      the hyperloop is doomed to fail for too many reasons. its like solar freakin roads.

    HMM. Could you get a glass vacuum bell jar, fill it with thermite (bell jar upside down), pump it down, and then ignite the thermite with a plasma spark? I really want to see the thermite burn in vacuum (of course the rust is the oxygen source, or you could add barium nitrate to make thermate for more O2) and then melt the bell jar and then watch the melty glass get sucked in by the vacuum. All in high speed video.
