The problem. Is that the pipe you're using flexes. If you used a pipe that was hardened and a quarter of the length it woulda worked better. The flexing of the pipe doesn't transfer the energy correctly. If you'd have bent that pipe into the golden ratio it would have worked immensely better because of the load distribution. Or oil quenching the straight pipe. Milwaukee makes impact wrenches that'd get it out as well, use heat on the bolt. Cheers

I think that this may seem somewhat British to you Jonnie Foreigners but if you switch the light on you camera and point it at the target before you light everything else, perhaps you could run in different directions as it would make no difference to the result. Just an idea.

Can you put one of the energetic ones like copper into a pipe bomb or something? Could also line the fuse with a tube and have it terminate in the centre to make it explode evenly. Bonus points if you press it all together!

If you want to do more stuff like this, there are calibrated burst disks for measuring blast pressure (or you could probably rig up your own out of any sufficiently consistent household aluminum foil with a little testing). Put them in various places around the blast and see if a person standing there would survive or if the overpressure would turn them into jelly.
