HEY YOU ABOUT TO POST SOMETHING STUPID:
Yes, I know my hands are large/fat. It's because of a heart condition I suffer from called Congestive Heart Failure. Here's a link to some information about CHF: cle.clinic/2TdS2Ux
One of the symptoms is that it causes fluid retention, mostly in the hands, feet/ankles, and face..

Interesting video, thanks, Paul. As Ascania links to the pdf manual below, that frequency counter can be calibrated with the pot on the back, if necessary. A nice swag bag, there.
Thanks for the info!
This type of frequencymeter is suitable for use in radiorecivers. They can subtract intermedate frequency.
Look fwd to seeing tests with the current reader
I have a frequency counter like that. My unit is good to 2400 MHz. After messing with the menu buttons, I was able to make it match to the readings that I get on my Protek B2000 frequency counter. I have it monitoring the output of my RF generator. The display on mine is also bright blue with the illumination set for 5.
Re: Frequency Counter... Maybe you already considered that possibility...
I think I see some trimmers of some type in the view you provided.
If so... Maybe they are for calibrating it?
Hope your well 👍🏻
I believe those are carbon/clay composition resistors. Resistivity is controlled by clay vs. carbon content.
TCXO is temperature COMPENSATED crystal oscillator; they vary the crystal's voltage to shift its frequency back after a temperature change. We can expect about 0.01% from TCXO and you demonstrate about 6-8 times that. I suspect that the compensation is not correctly calibrated. Try heating/cooling the crystal a bit. Personally, I would spring for temperature control -- assuming the counter is stable.
If those 50 ohm resistors are wire wound, they will not work for RF applications.
Nice haul, especially the resistors that look like the old school US color coded. Thanks and ☮️
The title made me think of the song "Slow hole to China" by Clutch, and so that's cool, good song lol. that's all
Are they calibration trimmers on the frequency counter? Maybe they need a bit of a tweak. Best wishes Paul.
Goodie box!
Looks like a random number generator !!!
12:04 VCTCXO does not use oven and can be quite small in SMD form factor; typical applications are mobile telecom (cell phones) ... newer MEMS VCTCXO can be even smaller; OCXO uses oven and is definitely not on that board. Great video! Some instructions may be on CZcams...
Great point!
@@learnelectronics I looked at the manual for a visually similar frequency counter board (PLJ-8LED-H) and it specified the vctcxo as a "5032" package. Taitien TLEARKJATF-10.000000? I can't read the print on the chips in your video ...
There are at least two variations -C and -H on the frequency counter so possibly infinite clone variations. This vid shows oscillator and trim pot: czcams.com/video/MGNRo2G30xc/video.html
In the description under this video is a link to the manual for the fequency counter: czcams.com/video/dqqkkShhiBI/video.html
Maybe it helps
Great video. Shame frequency counter is trash ...
What would be an ideal price range for a 5v 1F super capacitor?
