- First few days in my manhattan apartment did not go as expected. I really wanted this fresh start to be smooth but it was a complete opposite. Issues still continue (part of the next vlog) but things do eventually get better.
In this moving to nyc alone vlog, i basically just clean (like seriously just clean non stop), unpack, organize (kind of), clean again and try to settle in my new home in Manhattan (still can't believe it!!!)

Thank you for showing you cleaning before you organize your stuff. In other moving videos I never see them cleaning and it really bother me. I know in some apartment they clean it but I think it's better to clean again just to be safe.

I relocated to New Mexico last year. I had rented my apartment online and when I got there, it was so filthy. My swiffer pads looked exactly like yours. I ended up having to move again in October due to a large rent increase, and I have to say my new apartment was so clean. It was so refreshing.

Those floors look like they haven't been cleaned in years...I'm so sorry! When you get settled maybe consider getting your floor steamed. And you can always still get your apartment professionally cleaned lol good luck!
When I was mopping, I was shocked 😳 thank you so much! Once I settle in, I’ll most likely get it professionally cleaned. My friend Ashanti came to help me with deep cleaning (it’s part of the next vlog) 💖

Super excited for you! Not all of the apartments are dirty. I moved to UES and the apartment was incredibly clean, also have never had problems in the entire building or maintenance. I just say this to give you hope that there are good landlords out there! Either way your apartment is looking amazing and congrats on this new chapter!

I’ve hired a cleaner for every nyc apartment I’ve moved into. They are never cleaned prior unless it’s a luxury building.

Such a cute first apt with a bedroom! Living the dream! So exciting! I always clean my new apts no matter if they say it’s clean. Hopefully next apt you can clean before moving in so nothing is in the way.
When you can, watch Adriana Greaves vlogs. She has a studio apt close to Lincoln Center. Her apt is big for a studio, and she also sections out her areas.

Love these pink curtains. My living room/kitchen doesn’t get any light. Hopefully in the next apartment I’ll get to experience the pink glow :))
There was food still in my kitchen pantry when I moved into my apartment in LIC. And there was so much grunge in my bathroom tub after I chloroxed it THREE times 🤢 Would def have paid for a cleaner in retrospect.

Please buy a real mop and bleach and clean again! I hate that you had to struggle to get it clean. I’d rather you not get sick from anything you’ve uncovered by cleaning with the pads. ❤Positive vibes for a smooth 14 months and positive energy for a healthy year! ❤

Bleach will disinfect but doesn’t actually clean. Need a good soap to go with the mop and bucket. Those swiffer cleaning pads & Clorox wipes are for touch-ups, not a full cleaning job. Not that this will help Tisha, but for anyone else who sees this.
I think it depends on the Landlord and the Super. because When we move everything was spotless and it was my husband and I first apartment. But you did a good job cleaning it. the satisfaction after is great! I hope all good smoothly with your move. I will love to meet you and welcome you to the island :) We are neighbors even though I live in Uptown Manhattan. Best of luck :)

Not them leaving all that junk under your fridge 😂 you definitely moved into a place that may not be the best, including the super, which sucks. (I’ve been living in nyc all my life, mainly the Bronx) most Supers+Landlords usually just paint over dirt, hire cheap workers, and do the bare minimum to spend less money on their part. I wouldn’t be surprised if you keep running into problems as time goes on. But there’s always a positive side to things, so I hope everything goes well from here on out ❤ I love your videos, I feel like they have a more realistic side to people moving here compared to other content creators who make it seem so great and easy. Also what moving company you used? Or did you ship everything over using what?
So disgusting 🤦🏻♀️ 😭. After that I was checking each and every corner of the apartment. Super has been responsive and very helpful. Can’t say the same about the management. Thank you so much ❤❤❤ yeah I really thought my move would be the same like other move in CZcams videos (esp since this signified a fresh start and i think I romanticized about it too much prior to the move). I tried my best to document the experience. I used Vector Movers. This is my second time with them and they were really good!!!

I’ve been living in NYC all my life 55 years and I must say that your whole personality and characteristics is very positive considering the condition of that apartment. I am wondering if you viewed that apartment before moving in. I’m also wondering if you were so eager to move to NYC that you excepted anything. And secondly, every single appliance in that apartment should’ve been replaced before you move in. The electrical should’ve been checked and the smoke alarm should be replaced.. that stove and that fridge should not be your issue as far as cleaning because it should be new. Long story short your landlord is going to be an issue because clearly they don’t care about their tenants. They only care about renting their unit. For you to be paying 2350 you should not have to do anything in your apartment should be luxury . Don’t get too comfortable in there. There are other apartments in NYC for less than you’re paid with in a heck of a whole lot better condition I would check out this person’s video. (Cash Jordan), and reach out to him. I’ve been watching his videos for quite some time, and he knows where the good deals are. I strongly feel you’re being ripped off. Welcome to NYC.

After touring 13 apartments, I thought the apartment was a good deal because of the storage space, 1 bedroom, big windows and high ceiling. I was definitely eager and had blinders on when I signed the lease. Initially, I just assumed that they would clean it prior to handing over the keys. When I got the keys, I noticed that they hadn't cleaned it...didn't think it would be a big deal. Just didn't realize how dirty the apartment was until I started to clean it. I wanted a NYC experience and I guess I got it 😅
@@TishaShrestha don’t stop there for that cost 2300 you can get some thing a heck of a lot better and much cheaper. Reach out to that guy “cash Jordan” he shows good deals daily find a real estate agent. I really feel you’re getting ripped off you really are.

You did good. Most supers in NYC are slumlords. It’s a cruel, hard fact. Yes, you can get something cheaper and more modern, but it’s either further out or in an unsafe area. Lessons learned for the next apartment.

My friend ended up helping me with the deep cleaning 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽 Lesson learned to set aside couple of days for cleaning before actually moving in. Good luck to you and your sons with the big move!
I cannot believe you had all that cleaning to do and paying that kind of rent. You should be able to deduct at least $800 off. If they had to hire it done it might even be more. Your so positive. Its a cute place. ❤

I think you can get rid of the sound from your radiator by ‘bleeding your radiator’! The sound comes from the air in your radiator wich isn’t suposed te be there, so you will need to ‘bleed out’ the air. There’s probably videos on youtube explaining how to do it! :)

A spin mop would be helpful
please get an actual mop and bleach down the entire area (including toilet seat, touch surface areas, etc.) the place looks filthy!! I’m so happy you got to move, I hope one day I do the same!!

Sorry to see ur experience. May b they have taken this advantage seeing u single woman. We live in Manhattan, too, all the apartments they handover in clean condition. But there are some border areas around Manhattan where these kind of experiences in expected however u haven't specified ur locality n street number.

Regardless of all the issues, I still really like the apartment and really hope it is smooth moving forward🤞. Which border areas are you referring to? Since Manhattan is too costly people are bound to choose certain areas for affordable prices. Still prices are always too expensive in terms of quality n services.
