Wrong. About 18 months is more like it. You can find videos about holstein beef farmers on youtube, so I don't know why you guys always pull this one out as the "gotcha" question.
Dairy Queen I have a relative that worked in the industry he told me the facts. And even the RSPCA info states the facts. I’m referring to the dairy industry in general. Around the world millions of baby calves less than several days old are slaughtered as surplus to requirements every year.
@@aussie8114 So? Bull calves only have so many uses. The main one is to be turned into food. That is just how it is. If that upsets you, too bad, go chew on a celery stick. If we were talking wild cattle here, most calves would be eaten by a critter of some sort within days of birth so the bull calves of domestic cattle wind up where they would have been were they wild animals that never saw a human being - in a stomach somewhere.
@@aussie8114 Neither, you're an idiot. You get your facts from someone else instead of going to see the truth for yourself, you believe someone else completely and have no proof they weren't exaggerating, and even if it were true you'd hold every industry the same way just because of someone else's word who only worked for maybe a few farms at best which doesn't represent every other one in the US. Yeah, that sounds logical *sarcasm*
Feeding up to 3 pounds of dry matter leading to 2 pound daily growth! Great results!
Thanks for the value information
What age do you start giving them dry feed with their milk?
Are your calves weaned before they are put in the group pen? If not do you have a problem with them sucking on each other?
Very very nice system
Good video . any chance you can mention about the size of the building and also size of every pen for 20 calves, if possible thanks
They mentioned 60 square feet per calf. For 20, that would be 1200 square feet, so 30x40 would be an example.
nice
very humane! Love it!
July Mays they are sent to slaughter after is that humane?
@@lilevex7861 that's perfectly fine

Ok but what do you do with the male calves. Slaughter them when they’re a few days old. Am I right or wrong?

Why you separated calves from their mother. It is heartbreaking.
It's better for them
Of course they separate the calves from their mother.
