not really, in war thunder flying low to the ground defeats any fox1 , fox3 missile, which is not the case in dcs.
@@vondalo5504 not only that but DCS is almost never 15v15 and there are actual missions like escort this or destroy this ground target
you haven't played on growling sidewinder, have you, lol. Not saying that it's a good server, but there's definitely more , lol

@@CptCrazyWolfMan01It was successfully tested a number of times and it can support the AMRAAM. It definitely can, but honestly I would just rather it stick to phoenixs. The aim54 is buffed on the dev server and it turns much better now
@@christopherchartier3017 ya the aim120 was first tested on the f14 but it never actually got it added to its arsenal the navy decided to buy a new laser targeting pod instead of the amraam for the f14 plus plus it looks like only the top br planes are getting them

120 isn't the problem. The problem is R27ER and it's super strength signal that is impossible to notch.
I have a theory where you notch at 100 or 270 degrees to the attack but it would be nice for someone to vigorously test it

Well that's the best way to do it. That's why pretty much every country besides Russia and China use the Imperial system for aviation measurements. In aviation when people say "miles" they're referring to nautical miles (NM) which is slightly more than the traditional "statute mile" Americans use also in the Imperial System (1.15x a statute mile). Even European and other NATO countries use it. It has to do with the way NMs line up with latitude and longitude. It also helps if everyone in the coalition uses the same system so your pilots can communicate without having to do math in high stress situations.
They pretty much all use feet for altitude too believe it or not. It's Knots for speed, Nautical Miles for distance of travel, feet for altitude, and usually feet for distance to a close object (IE: "something flew past my left wing about 100 feet from me.")
@@TexasGreed i see what your saying and it has sense in it as that it very true but i think for the average player in wt that happens to not be an actual pilot or an American and im sure there are more than plenty, you get people that stare at it like its hieroglyphics as not many people need to know it as a unit of measurement

@@mikeyplayzwrld radar missiles post-70s don't just nosedive into the ground if the target aircraft flies close to the ground though
@@KekusMagnus yes but they still miss most of the time, fox1's require a constant radar lock and as you could guess, the ground clutters up your radar and it gets hard for the radar to keep track of whats the enemy and whats the ground, it probably wasn't as extreme as it is in warthunder(they probably didn't just instantly nosedive like the sparrows do) but it still worked kinda the same way, fox3's will fix that as the missile has it's own "tracker"
