you are correct slot cars are alive in NZand have been since the 60s sorta went underground in the late 60sbut many home made tracks were still around like my own then up graded or rebuilt when the hobby took off again in my opinion because the new manufactering made the cars look so realistic Keep up the good work Jimmy a great video
Uncle Jim is a Rock star
You made me smile Rick.... Thanks for that. Please go back and share the video with your friends, and don't forget to subscribe my friend.
Thanks for the tips, you have a awesome layout!!!!!
Thank you
Can you make an episode on how to build your track lighting towers? They look so realistic. Please include how you power the light towers. Thanks so much as your videos are so helpful.
Thanks for your comment John. If you rescue the latest LK video on details part 2 you can get a more detailed look at the light towers. I'll tell the guys to highlight how it goes together for you. Go back and forward our videos to more of your friends because the guys plan to do more in the future.
I have built 4 wood routed tracks but still learnt a lot from these tips. Watching this video is inspiring and has me thinking about getting back into the hobby. I always enjoyed the track building process more than the racing. Thank you 🙏
I say go for it John! Your fifth track will certainly be the best, given your experience. Try the Ac2car system this time and you will get much more racing in a given space. See www.ac2car.org for how to details. And, stay tuned and share this video with others. Thanks for your comments my friend.
agree with Jimmy@@jimmyattard1446
I’ve always want to build a track and I’ve bought books on it , but I’ve always been put off by the lack of “real racing “ . Thanks for sharing , you be should putting all this in a book / how to manual . I would certainly buy a copy all the best from down under au
Dave I love hearing from you guys in Australia! Hope you do build a track one day. Stay tuned and share this video with others. Thanks for your comments my friend.

slot car inside deluxe! realy nice informations! thanks! merry christmas🎄
I'm glad you liked the pointers about creating your own wood slot car track Kit!
Kit, Please go back and share our LK channel with your friends. Your comments are greatly appreciated my friend.
Thanks for another great video. Lots of great information -the apex discussion was worth (much more than) the price of admission alone! And the banking of corners -I've used superelevation on the sub-base under the turns of my HO sectional track layout and it makes a huge difference. I keep the track flat where I want "hard" corners but it is amazing how a small increase in the height of the outside of the track raises the speed at which de-slotting occurs. Thanks Again!
Great info! Thanks!
I inherited a lot of older (new)1/32 analog Carrera slot cars, dragster parts, plastic model kits etc and new track pcs, I wanted to build a nice track, but will most likely sell it all.
But I have to say, your track makes me want to dig my stuff out.
Thanks for the tips!
Beautiful track!
Thank you!
I'm really happy that you found the tips interesting Little Viking! I wanted to make designing and building your track as hazard free as can be. Thanks for your comments my friend.
Thanks again for sharing this. 👍👍😎
You are very welcome Dave....So stay tuned and share this video with others. Thanks for your comment my friend.

Excellent advice !...Ive built two wooden tracks prior and still learning...hey Im thinking of trying MDF this time around ...is MDF a good investment (its certainly cheaper)
great track tips friends
Hopefully Rusty you get a chance to build a track of your own. It's not as hard as it sounds. I'm happy to give you any advice you might need. Stay tuned and share this video with others. Thanks for your comments my friend.
@@jimmyattard1446 yes I have a track but not a nice as your it's on my old channel Rusty racing 67 not Rusty racing 67 2022
Hi Guys, thanks for the great content. I'm in the process of planning my track. I would love to make it as intricate as yours, but space dictates otherwise. I have a table 5m x 2.5m (16'5" x 8'2.5") that will be hoisted to the ceiling on 4 cables. I'm very interested in the 1/32 scale specs (ie. lane widths, minimum radii & banking) as well as lane changing. I want to use the Carrera Digital as a basis to build on (for the ability to rum 2+ cars on a two lane track). Is this a mistake? I have taken onboard many comments in this video regarding track specs (ie. lane separation, etc.) and will be redesigning the layout to optimise the space. Thanks.
Great videos. How does the lap counter work for 2 cars in the same lane?
Good question Seth. The lap counter can ID an A car from a B car by each cars polarity. Stay tuned and share this video with others. Thanks for your comments my friend.
Great tips! Will there be (is there) a video addressing how your lane change feature in the hairpin works?
Yes WB, please go to the other segments of the Lunch King channel to see the video dedicated to lane changing. If you haven't subscribed please do. Please go back and forward it to your friends and family.
WB go to the Lunch King channel and there you can find more info on the lane changing feature of Northline Raceway. If you haven't subscribed to Lunch King please do. Please go back and if you enjoy the track and racing video, forward it to your friends and family.
Interested in building a wooden track , been doing research. My question is if I use copper braid is there a specific type of router bit that cuts slot & recess for flush fit braid, or is it 2 different bits?
Great question Ken.... The copper tape I used sits right on the track, but copper or steel braid must have a 1/16 deep recess routed into the track. First the 1/8 slot is cut around the track, then a unique bit that follows the slot is used to indent the braid. Stay tuned and share this video with others Ken. Thanks for your comments my friend.
How does the change lane actually work ?
In the next few weeks Rob, the guys are planning a segment highlighting lanechanging on my track. So stay tuned and share this video with others. Thanks for your comments my friend.
This track is BadA**! I would love to see an explanation on the slot layouts. What is going on with three lanes close to each other and three farther apart from each other. I'm not grasping the intention of the design. Thanks
Jim go see the two intro videos the guys did at the Lunch King You Tube channel. There I explain the. Fact that each cat has two slots of its own. One on the outside and another on the inside of the roadway. One switchig area is at the hairpin turn that allows your car to stay in one of your two slots or switch into the other. If you haven't subscribed to Lunch King please do. Please go back and if you enjoy the track and racing video, forward it to your friends and family.
I must be missing something. I've watched several of these videos and have yet to see any cars moving around the track. How many people do you think are going to watch all these minutes of just talking and no action? It makes no sense
Ok. Thanks. I couldn't find them by going to the channel. I must have hit the wrong line when I entered it
I watched three video's and never saw the cars running on the track! just talk, it gets boring after a while!
Racing is soon to come, our latest video on Lane Changing features the cars running in a small race. Thanks for watching!
JRX2 go to the LK You Tube sight and subscribe. There you will see 4 different videos of cars lapping Northline. When you go back, forward our videos to more of your friends because the guys plan to do more in the future.
i love your set up ITS AWSOME i know its none of my bussiness how much do you think you have tied up in it and im sure its worth every nickle THANX E
Thanks for your kind comments Earl. Because 99% of everything on and under TBE track was scratch built by me, and the fact that I've been collecting scrap materials for it the past 40 years makes me believe that it only took about $300 to build the track. Please go back and forward our videos to your friends. Thanks again my friend!
