POV: What Kind Of MTB Should I Get?

- Easily one of the most difficult decisions someone can make in their entire life: What kind of MTB should I get? The answer involves all sorts of factors. What kind of riding do you primarily do? What kind of bike suits the trails near where you live? How often are you REALLY going to ride the bike park so do you need that 170mm sled? For some people, they want a bike that is fast and nimble for miles of singletrack, while others prefer a big squishy mountain smashing enduro machine for full send mode. But what if you like all the riding and you have all the trails near you? In that case I’m sorry I can’t help you. You’ll need all the bikes, just like Jeff and Liam.

hardtail, fun, fast, reliable, easy to work on, simple and agile.
And affordable
@@jimmychucksluckfluck8805 dude what💀
@@jimmychucksluckfluck8805 please don’t
Hardtails suck. They don't work well.
@Pranish gaming that's not even a brand. Not sure what you are talking about, but hardtails in general tend to get stuck on heavy roots and full suspension goes over it smoothly. Full suspension is way better.
POV: I’m broke as hell and a college student 🤦🏼♂️
Hardtails are for you bro! Used market is getting better, see you on the trails!
You can also find hard tails on pink bike
I’m 14 and I’ll be able to get a £7000 in a year and a half because I’ve been grafting for ages 😂
@@andrewsouthern3517 how di you do it
Market place you bum!!! How you think I'm still at this at 42!! Cheap rides bro 👌 x
I like Hardtails, they are fast-rolling and very agile.
Is it normal that the rear tiee bends or becouse its old?
@@anasr9626old😊
Hardtails keep me honest.
Enduro FTW
Body you totally right specially when you're riding it in streets also it's the best for hills climbing
till you bend your rim doing jumps like I did 😭
130mm trail bike, enough travel to throw it around and still ride comfortably enough
Agree
yep
My bike like that too
I have a cube 120 pro i added a better front suspension and its beautiful its agile light weight and it its smooth like butter the travel I run is 140mm but that's because I do enduro.
Endro and Hardtail are soo hard to choose between
Gostaria muito de saber valor dessa laranja ai loca 🙏👊🤙 enfia para Brasil
Yeah exactly…
got both :D
I like the 130mm the most. You can ride most of the trails with very good stability. You can do climbs too just look for lockable rear shock.
Do you know the name of the first MTB bike in the video?
I would definitely recommend the 130 mm travel trail bike. It'll feel like a dream
Why not full enduro? Whats the difference, im trying to buy a bike thats gonna be good on the mountains and rocks
@@igorantic2155because the trail bikes lighter and more playfull
@@igorantic2155 enduro bikes are mostly for descending. you can climb but they are alot harder to climb vs an xc bike
Full on enduro for sure! 🤘
Buy a Santa Cruz Bronson. You get the best of both worlds, Trail and Enduro with 29 upfront and a 27.5 rear mullet.
fr 150/140 trail bike best of both worlds
@@xxsanjeetxx8249
Have you ridden the recent Santa Cruz Bronson 2022 or 2023 models?
The New iterations are insane and not many come close for an all round Trail/Enduro.
Love my Bronson. Matched with the We Are One Triad rims, it’s awesome.
Well I race enduro so I think I know my answer…
Hardtail of course
🤣
I got an enduro and I would acctually prefer my 500€ hardtail :D Unfortunatly it got stolen :/
😅😅😅😂#mountainbike
Same.

I've got a 130mm trail bike( rascal ) It's perfect for 80% of what I ride, and can get away with riding 100%. Still, I occasionally want just a bit more stability, especially on super steep or bike park terrain. Just ordered a 160mm enduro ( transition patrol) to fill that last 20%. It's the biggest slickest bike I have ever ridden, so I am excited to see how it goes. Should be here this week!
Hey man, i wanna hear your thoughts on the bike. Whats the difference between 130mm trail bike and 160mm full enduro bike? Should i buy full suspension bike or should i keep riding hardtail bikes? They dont feel very good on the rocks and mountains
Depends on what you ride on most frequently. each type has their uses which will impact the rider experience.
Full enduro ofc 💯
Full enduro
full suspension, its good at trails and it’s smoother than a hard tail and you get more specially designed full suspension forks ik it’s slower but it’s honestly more fun to ride
Light weight DH bike or enduro 👌
Just buy all of them
Full enduro.. take what you've earned 😎
Go with an all-mountain with at least 150mm travel in the front and reliable brakes. Make sure it’s upgradable too, for a bash guard with a chain guard or other accessories
It depends. What kind of trails are you riding and in what part of the country?
Riding mostly XC singletrack in the Chicago metro area? Hardtail or an XC full sus can be a blast.
Riding north shore in BC? Maybe skip right to the enduro bikes.
Enduros are fun because you have so much travel and can do big drops and huge jumps
I would get full enduro
Depends on if you are new or experienced… If your new don’t buy and full suspension… Hardtails are perfect for beginners and intermediates. Same for the pedals don’t buy a clipless pedal if your learning, (clipless means the ones with clips and flat pedals are the flat ones) buy flat pedals if your new and or learning but don’t creep away from not using the flats…
Short travel bike, they're most fun
Ibis for the win
What are the short travel bike? Noob here sorry
@@Simplicity1207130mm or less of travel, like 120mm
Agree
130 trail bike... always... so capable!!
What hardtail is that? Looks awesome
Pretty sure its the Yeti Arc
Hard tails for the win!
I ride Commencal Meta 2022. Smile from ear to ear every moment I’m on it👌
for me full suspension is the best and easiest for jumps, manual and every other thing that you need to get your front wheel up for
enduro for the win!!!
Trail hardtail.... i call mine a
Hardtrail
Love that.
Riscoe
The most expensive one you can afford.
Reliable, good suspension not too cheap and the best one that fits you😊
Couldn't agree more!
full enduro bc travel
Full enduro
Full enduro👌or 180mm trail bike also👌
I have a trail/enduro 140mm and i use it everywhere from bikeparks to local jumps.
same
What bike?
its a canyon neuron 5 but modified @@smoothyodaproductions4373

HT FTW!
Trail Bike!!
also him having all these because hes taking photos in a forest :
i prefer freeride but if its your first mtb you will have to try more categories before you find your favourite
Trek fuel ex 8
I have an old XC hardtail, I am retiring it with a trail hardtail in the next weeks (waiting for my bike to arrive). And I am planning on also getting a full suspension right in the borderline between trail and Enduro (150mm to 160 mm in the fork) so for me... 2 bikes: a capable hardtail in downcountry category and a very capable trail full suspension that is almost there with an enduro.
I picked a trail hardtail or downcountry bike because the hardtail part of it allows me to be more efficient while pedaling and climbing, but the slacker geometry and 130mm fork allow for more fun facing down.
And I am picking an all mountain full suspension because it is capable of enduro trails, but it can still be used for light trail rides or to have a spare bike in case someone needs one or the other is out of service for some reason
Depends on your skill level, where you ride what you like to ride.
Trail bike is going to be most functional for the widest array of terrain both up and down.
As someone who rode hardtail up until my first fs in 2019 a 120mm, it's a lie that hardtail climb better. That's ridiculous outside of smooth road the trail bike, even on mild fire roads with some loose rock thrown in is much easier not having to babysit the rear wheel for traction and for steep punchy climbs on hard pack? Again, the grip of fs let's you focus on pedaling up rather than worrying about spinning out. I am doing climbs that before I knew guys were doing but simply could not get the traction required. Much better climbing bike.
Not a huge fan of climbing but most of us are having to ride to the top and spending way more time in a ride doing that VS the downhill so why not make it more enjoyable. Climbing a technical section can be really fun. Looking back and thinking I just road a bike up that is pretty rewarding. Also, a lot of people don't have "mountains" but have hills or simply forested trails in this terrain a lighter bike is going to be more fun.
Enduro gets all the attention because it's the more exciting one to film. It's the bike people do the real crazy stuff on that makes it on video. It's exciting dangerous and "sells" the sport like no other but not everyone has that skill level or willing to risk their bones doing it.
how long have you been riding for and what you will be doing are all factors of what bike you should get and also your skill level and how often you will ride and how much you are willing to spend
Depends where do YOU ride
I just got a liv hardtail tempt 1 I love it!!!!!
I’ve had the same thing for about a year now! It’s been amazing so far!! (Way better than the Walmart bikes I grew up on lol)
ALL MOUNTAIN 140MM - 150MM
I'm on a salsa rangefinder hardtail right now, and love it. So much fun.
Handrail bc u will get be better as soon as u get a double sus and u will have more skill before the double suspension
Bro hardtail solos🔥
A custom frame with custom geometry to fit a 300 mm suspension front and rear
If you like to go fast hard tail they are all good on a trail
As a former elite hardtail xc racer, all i can say is my new stumpjumper expert 130/140 is all sorts of fun. I flipped the stem for negative rise and put on a flatbar and that thing rails the xc courses too. The dropper post allows you to really get low on your bike in the turns like a contorted monkey :) ! Really this is the bike to get and now is the time price wise...so it's time to get the best bike now. These deals are not permanent.
I think a 140mm full sus is a great all-arounder. something like the evil offering or a scor, which has adjustable geometry so you can make it an enduro bike.
I have a short travel duel suspension and I'm loving it is so fun to throw around on the jumps and it can take a serious beating I took it on a double black trail yesterday
Enduro. More travel more fun.
The black one is my dream bike
I've been 5 years on my hard tail bike, it's a very nice to handle and control, great speed and performance. It has lived and i did thousand of kilometer with it, i wanna go on and start getting myself in trail and enduro. So I'm getting myself a 140mm trail bike
I recommend the 140 mm pivot shadowcat
Full enduro! 🔥🔥🔥
i think you should get full suspension or Hardtail
I’m on a hard tail with enduro forks. I wish I could get an enduro bike full suis or downhill
Without hard tali’s full suspension won’t even exist
i think a good hardtail and a trail/all mountain 140-160 travel full sus are best for the average mtber. allows ya to try 2 different types of riding. good deals out there for both
I'd pick hardtail-cheap, simple, and fun
Well depends but I like hardtails
Buy a wr1 arrival. Linkage kits and whatever suspension setups you want, you've got 3 bikes.
Trail: Can be used for xc by locking susp. and Can be used as endure if Fork is upgraded to 150 mm travel.
Hardtail with a decent travel fork. Fun, simple, and surprisingly capable
130mm trail bike, my 120mm trail bike feels like a hardtail but rides like a full squish it’s awesome
Without a doubt enduro. I've been day dreaming of owning one for a decade
Pov: you already bough't them all before the video
Full enduro obviously, a bike which can handle any trail u want.
I recommend hardtail
people only have ONE bike? that's wild.
Love my Rascal… punches way above its weight… only thing holding the bike back is me 🤣
Tbh if you don’t mtb often, go for the hard tail, but if you ride it almost every day get the second one or the last one
you must get all those bike. 👍
Rigid fork, hardtail and singlespeed.
*Light
*simply
*fun
*cheap-low services
*good training
*best fusión rider-bike
Yes. I have a hardtail that’s becoming a gravel/mixed-terrain & a short travel trail (2019 Evil Following MB). Would love to have a Revel Ranger, Guerrilla Gravity Shred Dog MX and some gnarly enduro; either a high pivot or also a Guerrilla Gravity.
Get hard tail if you’re looking for a cheaper option and just riding around the world if you are riding down the hill jumps then get full suspension
I own both a hardtail & an all mountain enjoy both hardtail keeps me on my toes more confident on the full sus . A honest comment it all down to personal preference & what we can afford
I personally like short travel full suspension for XC riding. Pls don't bully me.
We won't bully you, that's a great choice :)
Full enduro super confortable and heaps of travel to play with
hartails are cheaper and more “snappy”, but not all that good on difficult rooty climbing and bumpyness, full suspension has more grip and comfort. personally im a mixed trail rider, so i own a SC 5010
Hard tail! They’re amazing and teach you so much
decent hardtail for the dirt jumps, street, flow and not super Chunky trails. and an enduro bike for everything else, races, day at the park, and some of those harder less forgiving trails.
I should get a trail bike with 130mm travel
Get yourself full suspension EMTB! I haven’t had this much fun since I was a little kid 😊
I got a trail bike but it has 160mm up front and 150mm at the back...seems more like an enduro! Also have an XC hard tail for a different sort of riding experience. Hard tails are still fun!
Wait for the new pinarello mtb line up! I am getting few of them. 😊
I like only DH/FR Full Suspension bikes ❤
My favorite way to get somebody into mtb is a short travel trail bike like 120-130 mm
i wish i could get one of them 😅
Full suspension
Trek remendy 8
im going with a 27.5 inch full supention bike
Depends where you Ride
Hard tail, stoic 4
Get a 27.5" Enduro Hardtail with about 150mm up front. It will do really good on rough terrain but can still handle Dirtjumps. And if you build it up like a slopeduro it's the BEST. Something like that Nukeproof Scout or something
Depends what you are into. But if your starting out a hardtail for sure
