There needs to be laws against officers instigating people to physical contact. If the bystander had just touched the officer, he'd been charged with assaulting an officer. Yet the officer pushed the bystander several times without justification or any retaliation, doing everything he can to get this bystander to react, and then charged the innocent bystander with Resisting. Terrible cop!!!! Should be charged with Assault himself!!!

Heading should be "Black Man Wins CA Lottery". That is the great thing about cops in general, they are so predictable. Whip out your phone to film an arrest, they will jump you. They don't care, their unions lawyer them up, and the taxpayer foots the bill.

Cop was 100% wrong. But the video appears to purposely cut out seconds earlier where the guy was in street recording. And he does slightly impeed the officer from getting to the scene. Cop should still be arrested for assault but i don't think its as simple as randomly attacking a black guy.

@@Winser22 - The big problem that cop will have... will be explaining to a judge/jury WHY it was ever necessary for him to exit his vehicle on the driver's side... then run around the BACKSIDE of his car in order to get to a crime scene that was IN FRONT OF HIM AND ALREADY UNDER CONTROL by his fellow officers. Where did he learn the "life-saving" technique of running behind his own squad car TO ASSIST fellow officers in distress, that are just few feet IN FRONT of his vehicle?? Do they teach that at the Police Academy?
Police Skills 101 >> Drive at High Speed to the crime scene >> Exit your vehicle >> Immediately Run a Football Route behind your own vehicle >> then BEFORE even knowing who is a suspect, or who is a perpetrator, or who is a witness, or who needs help, or who is a victim... just SHOVE the first guy you see BEFORE rendering ANY aid to your fellow officers, or to any victims.
Is that what they teach in the Police Academy??
If the Cop thought it was an "emergency" why is his first instinct to RUN BEHIND his own vehicle, when he could have easily exited his car and walked STRAIGHT AHEAD to help his fellow officers?? And when he gets done explaining that... he will have to explain why he thought it was necessary to PUSH a bystander who was already on the sidewalk & out of his direct path by the time he finished running around the back of his vehicle.
      Think about it...
His fellow officers are in trouble.. but he has the time to respond to a WISE CRACK that a bystander hurled in his direction?
That is literally what we all see in the video.
So it means the wise crack was more important to respond to immediately.... than the AID his colleagues might have needed??
Is that what they teach in the Police Academy??
That guy needs to find a different line of work. Because he is not suited for Law Enforcement.
His "rabbit ears" are gonna get himself (or his partners) severely injured on the job one day. Or maybe worse.

The upstanding citizen has no right to be in the street to film. The officer was wrong to use the language he did. The upstanding citizen's use of words likely to provoke a violent reaction as well as indicating resistance to a lawful order definitely merited additional attention from the officer.
This article wrongly attributes the actions of the officer as a negative response to the filming when there's no evidence of that. The officer was doing his job making the scene safe for officers, the suspect, and Innocent bystanders as he should although his use of foul language was inappropriate.

What? The guy is standing on the pedestrian walk. Did the cop wanted to drive into that sign pole, or what? How he was in the way, when the officer had to get out on the driver side, than run around behind the car to the other side, to get to the scene, that is in front of the car? Is he summoning something by running aroundin circle or what is the purpose of this action? Could you elaborate that?
