The most frustrating thing for me, is how I can go hours and hours without thinking of it at all. Then, the second I stop and try to tell myself “Look, it’s all in your head. You forgot about it and lived life normally nearly all day. You’re fine!” it starts again. I KNOW it’s in my head, but when the pain or whatever starts, there’s nothing I can say to make myself believe it. It’s too real, and it’s always when I’m alone.

I have a feeling self talk is the biggest step in this process, it’s so hard to self-soothe when you genuinely are scared and start the domino effect of this condition. I always try to treat myself as the child version of myself, mainly so I practice compassion more than anything. It’s difficult but worth it

I’m 17 and struggle everyday with health anxiety. Any body pain I feel I think the worst thing it’s so exhausting. No matter what I do I always convince myself I’m physically ill and I’m so terrified all the time. It has changed my life entirely because my brain convinces itself that I have cancer or something else that is also serious. I pray I won’t feel this way forever and I hope any of u that struggle with this feel better. We got this. ❤️

@@v-logs1695 i know the question wasn’t directed at me but i struggled with health anxiety a for a long time (and still kind of do) and these are some things that helped me: i started doing yoga and meditating to calm myself down, i read or dance or sing or whatever i feel like doing when i’m anxious, i go on walks if it’s too bad and it helps a lot, i also write about my anxieties, that was probably the biggest game changer for me. if i feel any symptom i think “if this doesn’t go away in 1/2 weeks i’ll talk to my doctor but i’ll try not to worry in the meantime”, this “postpones” your anxiety, if it’s a “real symptom” (couldn’t find a better word for it) it might persist, if it’s just my anxiety it’ll, most of the time, go away when i’m relaxed. also, NEVER google your symptoms, if you are seriously worried talk to a trusted medical professional, google will only tell you you are doomed because that’s the kind of answer that gets the most clicks. if you can, you should also try to talk to a therapist, talking to mine about this helped so much!

This is me also. I just turned thirty two months ago and think this is a worse age crisis like I’ve never expected. And I’m convinced suddenly that every bite of food I take will help or cause an attack. So I barely eat. But when I’m having a good day and distracted and dare to eat something fried or sweet, it will trigger the anxiety again and I spend all night thinking an attack is coming. I’m afraid to take the stairs or do push ups in case it triggers something, but also not exercising causes it too. There’s no way to win and it feels awful.

Being a cancer survivor spiked my health anxiety, but I found a few things that work fairly well:
    - Daily journaling about my worries and perceived symptoms
    - Mindfulness Meditation
    - Annual physicals for nothing in particular
    - Checking back with symptoms I've documented and seeing that they have no gotten worse (usually they've disappeared)
    - Noting the correlation of health anxiety with just overall stressors in life (one tends to lead to another)
    I hope that helps!

I’m 24. 3 years ago I had a bad panic attack while my buddy was driving me home so we go to the ER. Hot flashes, my entire body went tingly. I couldn’t move my tongue or my hands. I thought I was having a stroke.. I get hooked up to an EKG at ER and nurse tells me I have a cardiac arrhythmia. This freaks me out. I see a heart doctor two weeks later and he says I’m completely fine, that my test looks normal, just anxiety.. ever since that day I’ve had severe anxiety. Lately it’s my left side of my head and neck that hurt, I feel like I’m going to have a heart attack or an aneurysm. It scares me so badly and I feel like I bother everyone in my family too much about it. I seem to have something different wrong with me every single month. I pray that I can get through this and live a great and healthy life rid of anxiety 🙏 I pray for everyone in a similar condition

I’ve suffered from health anxiety for years but was able to manage it. Recently it’s gotten unmanageable and I’ve been struggling. But a few days ago I just got my first huge panic attack where I became extremely dizzy and I thought I was going to pass out or die. Because of that, it spiked my anxiety even more and I’ve struggled every day since then. Getting dizzy at random times and being scared to leave the house or drive. It’s gotten better slowly every day with mindfulness and meditation, but it’s been debilitating these last few days. I found these videos from your hypnosis on health anxiety and they’ve really helped. Thank you!

Excellent. Love the forms. When I first started watching your videos A couple weeks ago I was a full-blown hypochondriac with agoraphobia. Now I’m just a hypochondriac with a touch of agoraphobia. I watch your videos as a reminder to slow down and realize that progress takes time. I had a setback yesterday I started googling my symptoms again. (PVC’s are what set off this anxiety disorder). I still have the PVCs but I’m learning to live with them. Can you please do a video for people like me whose anxiety was triggered by a real health condition? I was fine before the PVCS. I was even fine for a couple weeks when I started getting them. Then I went to the wrong doctor and they told me I could die which set off what they call panic disorder. I saw the cardiologist and he told me I was having PACs and PVCs and I wasn’t likely to die but by then the mental damage had been done.
I feel like a lot of people are like me where they actually do have real problems or had real problems and fear them getting worse or turning into something more. Sometimes self help videos dismiss it all as anxiety but what do you do when it’s really happening and you’re worrying yourself sick?

Hi Ashley. Im glad you are making progress. Safety behaviours creeping back are really common. It happens to everyone. Don't see it as a failure but just a learning experience. I have had others with health conditions ask for a video on it so I have added it to my video ideas list. I have lived with PVCs and PACs for 15 years. Im quite relaxed about them now but it was scary at first so I understand how it must have felt when the doctor made that stupid comment.

  • @PolliNinjaShorts
    @PolliNinjaShorts Před 4 měsíci +1

I read some comments and from this I understand that the symptoms are very similar. I had panic attacks which I actually already had but they got worse after a month of ear infections. I went into a strong depression for 3 months and stopped eating, I lost 20 kilos in 3 months. As someone has already written, I too was afraid of eating, I was afraid that I was allergic to some ingredient or that I would suffocate. I didn't do physical activity for fear that my heart would speed up and I'd have a heart attack. It all stems from the fact that I saw my grandparents die before my eyes, both young, my grandmother from an aneurysm (I'm terrified of it) and my grandfather from cancer and low self-esteem for which I think I'm weak. But something changed in me, I thought I couldn't stay this long, that wasn't life. I went to a psychologist, now I wake up early, I have my routine, I journal regularly and I have good habits with a healthy diet. Even today I suffer from anxiety, and when I have some symptoms, even just fever or red eyes or burst capillaries (I work a lot on the PC), I get scared. But now there are no longer those strong panic attacks, little by little I'm taking my life back. However, I understood that everything is linked to the fear of dying and the awareness that we are passing through here. But precisely for this reason I want to live a joyful existence and not be a slave to fear. It's a lot of work on yourself but it has to be done, otherwise you can't live anymore. So I'm sending you lots of good vibes, let's actually strengthen each other! We are strong, we are healthy, we are safe and protected! So much faith in ourselves and in the universe.

For me, there's not just an anxiety cycle, there's also an on/off cycle. For several weeks the whole system is switched off and nothing I do or think will be a problem. Then it will kick in and hang around for a few days, listening to everything I say and think and using it against me when it deems appropriate. I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy though I can sometimes think my way out of what logic tells me is false illness.

The anxiety cycle is just accurate af and is what I'm feeling right now. I know I'm stress, there's an upcoming licensure exam and I moved in a new place in which there's going to be a lot of adjustments. The thing is whenever I'm feeling some symptoms like headache or some stomach discomfort, i couldn't help but think that it might be something serious and my heart palpitates and i get more anxious, then my breathing increases thinking that i might have breathing problem, till i feel like I'm gonna have a heart attack and die any moment or something! 😵😵😵
What made it worse sometimes is the fact that I'm working in healthcare so I don't need to google symptoms cuz i know what they are and I'm already thinking a worse case scenario! 😵 I know symptoms that needs medical emergency and i know I'm not feeling those, i know that I'm just over reacting and it's jist my anxiety but it still SUCKSS cuz i can't help it.
I think it triggered when i almost lost my dad 2yrs ago of covid. I was far away and too anxious of what could've happened and I'm not there. Then it came to me that what if i got sick and die and I'm not gonna be with my family. My health anxiety just grows from there. I used to have health anxiety before but not this worse. Sometimes it just creeps out just out of nowhere then boom! My day is ruined, so as my sleep!
Thanks for this video like it literally shuts my anxiety down. I was anxious since yesterday and it's suffocating. I'll try to do these exercises!

I have illness anxiety I hate the thought of being ill, when I am ill I mainly get on it with, but for some reason before and after I worry about getting colds or bugs. It started off as a thought probably 15 years ago and it's manifested itself into something huge, to the point I'm turning 40 this year, it stops me doing things, possibly why I've never had kids, as kids tend to get little bugs etc all the time. Starting to feel like nothing will help, this is also after therapy.

Thank you so much for this video! It explained to me a lot. A month ago I was diagnosed with kidney cancer. Since then, while I've been waiting for surgery I feel anxiety. At first, I had a lump in my throat. I knew it was caused by stress. But now I have also fog or dizziness (I'm not sure) and GERD symptoms. I'm aware it is caused by stress, but I didn't know what should I do with it. So I was just googling my symptoms again and again)) I hope all these will go away after the surgery, but I'll try to use your advice as well!

Sorry to hear about your illness. I can't imagine the anxiety a diagnosis like that can bring and anxiety can bring all sorts of symptoms. However be sure to discuss any new symptoms with your doctor. I know its really hard, but do your best to stay off google as it feeds anxiety which creates more anxiety symptoms which then causes more symptoms. I wish you a speedy and full recovery.

Where will I be in 5 years if I don’t change the way I manage my health anxiety?
How does my Hypochondria affect my relationships?
What would life be like if I didn’t have health anxiety?
What does my health anxiety prevent me from doing that I would like to do now?
Also thank Martin for the link to the health anxiety thought record. It was only when re watching this video that I noticed that this sheet is slightly different than the thought record that I usually use. I printed it off and put in my binder of Anxiety Attic worksheets to pick from daily.

I am in healthcare I see things all the time they say that people in the medical field are the worst patients lol. I have severe medical anxiety I saw my best friend die from cancer since then I haven’t been the same . I had a gastritis flare up after 18 years which of course will trigger my anxiety thinking I had stomach cancer gave me a trip to the er with my bp at 180/120. Yep anxiety will numb your face make you feel like your having a stroke . My anxiety made me discover a week after being in the hospital and I had microscopic hematuria in my urine not visible to the eye but on the urine test and I’m not supposed to have blood as I don’t get a period anymore . Now the dr wants me to have an ultrasound and again I’m here thinking it’s bladder cancer it never ends . I have been trying to calm my fight or flight cause I’m tired of fighting and working on this parasympathetic system lmao cause it needs to chill . I have been doing cbd oil , you probably won’t believe me, but chamomile has been my lifesaver. I have been doing chamomile tea in the morning. It has like some type of sedate or something that calms you the hell down and I do it at night time before I go to sleep, because I couldn’t sleep at night I felt like I was having a heart attack and I also started magnesium glycinate, which is helping me a lot with my anxiety. Mental health is not easy. Many would judge you because they haven’t been in that situation. It’s a struggle every single day with yourself. Meditate and think your body for helping you fight for you because this is a way that your body fight for you, because you keep thinking that something is wrong with your body and don’t allow yourself to fall. We are all in this together. You are not alone.

I wonder if mindfulness is a way to practice and perfect simply not imagining anything, but instead be aware of only what is tangible and real around you. That is, I was walking and heard the part about mindfulness and thought it might be a way to practice relaxing and so my mind leapt to a patch of lily pads I saw and started to imagine a scene where I am peacefully lying and floating amongst them but then I realized that imagining myself in different scenarios is part of my anxious brain and that perhaps even nice mental projections are practicing the same reflex. It then seemed to me that actual mindfulness practice would be a way to intentionally not imagine anything better or worse than what is right here right now, which is also why dwelling on the mundane might be beneficial.
Just a thought, seemed interesting to me. I’m at the beginning of my journey to overcome a panic disorder and have found reading peoples thoughts here and there to be helpful. I don’t necessarily take them as fact and would not suggest anyone do so with my words. But feel free to add your ideas.

I had to skip exams, thought of trying therapy but its too costly and Indian families usually dont take mental health problem seriously so its hard for me to convince or do anything about it...... Once i tried to end it all at once but i was too scared dont know what is happening and what will happen to me if i keep getting those anxiety attacks

I’m really struggling, I’m 20 and have always kinda had health anxiety but recently it’s gotten much worse. I forgot something small then couldn’t get rid of the feeling I was having memory loss, dementia etc. I’m so scared of getting it since this. I feel awful & so depressed. I don’t know how to overcome it

Broke down earlier because just like what’s on the video, I thought I was being healed already without any worries for few days then voila anxiety attack with trembling and it’s soooo tiring. While I was trembling, I went to the comfort room then later on I did high jacks to face it then I felt okay bc nothing in my mind went true. I hope this will be gone completely or at least bearable and not get worst as we want to go on with life to live and not just survive. Whoever reading this, I hope and pray that you will heal from everything you feel or undergo. 🥹❤🙏🏻

For people who still has it and don't get better I want to tell my story of recovering.
If your panic attacs are regular or after them you feel exhausted for the whole day, you might need some medication as I got. Don't be shy to go to the psychiatrist, at first it may be the only way out. After some time using sertraline or other SSRIs with tranquilizer, you will feel better. Then I started to do yoga for 2 weeks or more. And reading, reading, reading, guys. Not about your symptoms, but about GAD aka health anxiety aka hypochondria. Then you have to upgrade your body, your heart, lungs and body in general. In my opinion, it is running(cycling, swimming). It worked for me, see if it will work for you. At first I felt really bad after running. Really bad. Head was spinning, HR was strange, I couldn't catch my breath. And this after 10 seconds of running;) But then up time of running, little by little. So I came to 2 minutes running 1 minute walking for six times. When you understand you are ready meaning you accepted your anxiety, you can start CBT. Now I'm not yet overcome my anxiety, I mean I want to get back to the gym, be more sociable as now. I still do CBT, but now I feel that I control my anxiety and can it change. Be healthy, guys!

I developed tinnitus 7 months ago and im pretty sure it was caused by my behaviour regarding health. Every time i felt something strange before i would go to google and check, be anxious for a couple of days and then back to normal. However, one night my Tinnitus appeared (already checked with doctors and my ears are super fine) and that attitude got me into a negative and anxious spiral that took control over my whole life. Now i am a little more in control but there are days where anxiety is too much. I want to get better, tame my tinnitus, befriend it and calm my anxious brain. It is going to be a long journey😂.

Hy ruben, I'm also suffering from tinnitus for the last 6 months... and the ringing sound is coming from the right ear.. it's jus freaking me out literally every single day.. went to the doctor and he said it might be bcz of the nerves around the ears and gave vitamin tablets for one month...if it continues then I have to go to ENT and check...so have you seen any doctors? How are you feeling now?

@@jesnajessy790 Hi! Yes I have seen two different ENT and both told me that me ears are fine but I still hear the sounds hahaha. It is more related to the brain than the ear. I have my days, some good and some not so good. The only thing I can recommend you is to stop visiting forums or checking for symptoms, try not to fight the T because that fuels it and play ambient sound in the background. Listening to crickets helps me a lot. Hope you get better or at least tame the sound !

I had health anxiety since I was little. Whenever I learned about a disease, I would pray to God that I didn’t get it. As an adult, I can feel when my body is off and I have to figure out what it is and fix it myself. I can’t keep going to the doctors and when I do they just ignore me 90% of the time anyways.

My anxiety cycle starts with a symptom. I am over sensitive for whatever symptom arises i my body, but the scariest is dizziness. I feel dizzy, then I think it must be brain bleeding (my father in law had it 2 years ago and it really affected me, but he is old and he had chronic high blood pressure). I feel very anxious, i am checking my watch where the pulse and stress level is very high and I am getting more afraid. Then I think - this time is for sure not anxiety, then I get more dizzy or get weird sensations in my body and become sure that this is brain bleeding and If I dont pull myself out by accepting that this is anxiety - I get a panic attack:(

Anytime I have a medical appointment and they need to do a BP check my BP and heart rate goes through the roof. The anxiety starts the night before the appointment. Once I leave the appointment my BP goes back to normal. I tried many techniques but they never work. It takes the medical staff about 3 BP checks for them to see that it's anxiety and it decreases once I feel safe. I hate it. I will only do telemed appointments now. I will not go in unless I have to. I need help. I am so tired of it.

For me, it all started when I did a school presentation about rabies. I fell into the usual rabbit hole of videos about rabid animals and people. I was scarred for life. The thing is, I have a terrible mouth breathing problem, some days I would wake up to my throat not being able to swallow properly. I associated that with hydrophobia, and had little panic attacks. The worst part? I didn't even have a close encounter with an animal lately, or if I did have, they are all vaxxed. Why am I so neurotic?
