I have said it before but you are the King of resin and wood turning.
Thank you very much!
I agree 🌞
Hi Mark, yes, he is the King! I watched a lot of other wood turning guys on the internet, but Jim is the best, no doubt about it! God bless and best regards from Wuppertal, Germany, yours, Wolfgang. 👍👋🏻
Completely agree, others don't compare and he teaches how to accomplish what he did and many other things!
@@dinkvjr yes, I like the way he teaches and he's not so proud to accept further tips of the trade. I do wish he'd be more careful sometimes with using wrong tools. He's going to get hurt.
Wow, just wow. Those colors with that burl is amazing. Nice work! Congrats to Opie on winning this amazing piece!
Thank you very much!
That’s what I always have on my mind when Jim finishes a bowl - “Wow, just WOW!!!”
Designer Epoxy
Hey Jim. Rarely am I at a loss for words, but this bowl is magic. It’s my color, my shape, and my wood figurings. Purrfect!
Thank you very much!
Those greens from Designer Epoxy work so well together. Beautiful piece, but we expected nothing less.
Thank you very much!
I used to casually watch your videos for a long time. Then I tried turning some resin projects, now I appreciate every second of every video and look forward to it every week. You are extremely talented keep up the good work 👍
Wow, thank you!
Jim, You do amazing work. I also love that you use bright colors in your art.
Thank you so much 😀
The wife and I love watching your work. We like how you change things on the fly and that your work always turns out great! The colours in this are fantastic.
Awesome! Thank you!
This turned out so lovely! Even though it's not a perfect sphere, it still reminds me a little of a globe of an alien planet, with continents to the north and south and gorgeous blue-green ocean in the middle.
Totally, thanks!
all your videos are so calm and pleasant, they're really nice to listen to while drawing, and it's really cool to look back at and see how the project is doing, it's always really cool :)
Glad you like them!
This turned out absolutely stunning! I appreciate you letting us know what it would’ve cost. I look forward to the day I can purchase 1 of your pieces, although I’m not sure if I would prefer a resin project or 1 of your inlays.
Thank you so much!
After a brutal week of work, it is nice to come home, light up a cigar and watch your video. Too tired to do anything in my shop tonight, but watching your videos help inspire me for Saturday morning. By the way, Robust makes a low profile tool rest that reaches in for interior work quite nice and still sits low. Beautiful project!
I will check it out. Thanks for watching!
If Brady is the GOAT for football, you are the GOAT for wood-resin turning. Incredible work.
Wow, thanks!
Congrats on hitting over 85k subscribers! Thanks a million for all the woodturning tips. I learn something new from each video.
Awesome! Thank you!
This is a beautiful piece! I love that you let the piece “speak to you” so that you can change your original idea to make an awesome final piece!
Thank you so much!
My 2 teen sons and I happened across your channel a couple of weeks ago and have been watching several episodes a day, we have loved it. You do amazing work. Thanks for sharing
That is awesome! Thanks for watching and welcome aboard!
@@SpragueWoodturning 😊
OMG I am so "GREEN" with envy of the person who won this beauty. Love, love, love the greens in this piece.
Thanks so much 😊
Your work just keeps on getting better and better. This bowl is gorgeous. The greens really do work beautifully.
Thank you very much!
Your work always turns out so beautiful, you are an amazing artist!
Thank you so much 😀
When plans change is why I say it's art work. Looks like you had a wedding in the shop, rice everywhere....lol Like the greens, I think they worked well with this piece. The two different maple burls types looks stunning. Another fine piece of art work. Who ever won this piece should be very happy. Outstanding sir.🌿 👍👍👍
Thank you very much!
The green and the black tones in that go so well with the wood. Another great looking project.
Thanks
Another beautiful piece. The colors are fantastic.
Thank you so much!
Adoro seus vídeos e seu trabalho. Pena que não sei como comprar uma! 🙌🏻🌟✨🌼🍀✨🌟🙌🏻🇧🇷

Oh my holy... I so, so love this greens! And the hollow form was the best decision, you were right with that! Opie will be very happy to get such a wonderful piece. Great work, Jim!
Thank you very much!
Those new colors worked really well with the maple. Enjoying the "experimenting" with the resin and colors. The burl definitely had beautiful grains. Thanks for sharing your artistry and I enjoy watching the creative results. Look forward to part 2 next week. 😊👍
Thank you! Cheers!
Love the use of different pieces together with resins. Watching your videos helps when I'm having a anxiety issue. I want to thank you for that.
☮️🙏💜💡
Thank you very much! I’m glad to help!
That had to be the most beautiful piece of art I've seen. It is like mother earth with the life force of the sea caressing the continents. Stunning
Thank you very much!
Mr. Sprague I have been enjoying your amazing woodworking & resin pieces. I am always in awe of your stunning work. This is such a wonderful gift to give. Definitely an heirloom to behold. Thank you for sharing. My name is Ellen. Take good care.
Thank you very much!
Well done....little Mem,,,,extent ,,,what a simple and unique style,,,to explain every thing,,,keep it up,,,,😊😊❤
Thank you very much!
Beautiful bowl love the color and that wood is gorgeous!!!!!Opie is a lucky guy......
Yes, she is. Thanks for watching!
That mix of greens is just stunning.
I’m not a wood turner, and will never be, but watching you create makes me want to learn. However, this old dog doesn’t do new tricks. 😊

Thank you very much!
Congrats Opie on winning this gorgeous bowl!
Wow Jim! This is a fantastic bowl! I love the color and the figuring in the wood is wonderful! I love this bowl! Thank you Jim.
Thank you very much!
You know what this one makes me think of?
Between the two greens and the shape....it makes me think of some of the beautiful Sea Urchin skeletons I've seen.
Gorgeous piece Jim! ❤
Interesting! Thanks you! 😊
The colors are beautiful, and the burl is spectacular. Congratulations on hitting 85k, it won't be long until your next giveaway. Thanks for another great video.
Thank you so much!
I love the shape and overall look of this piece!!! Turned out lovely, Jim. As usual!! 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏
Many thanks!
Grats Opie.
Lovely windy water bowl, what a gift.
You're awesome Jim, thank you.
Thank you! Cheers!
This is a stunning piece! Love the colours! I also love that you use purples fairly regularly too, I don't see many artists doing this kind of high end wood and resin work using purples or shimmery pearly colours so it's a real treat to watch your videos.
Thank you so much!
Congratulations to Opie H. You got a beautiful piece to treasure. Those new greens really were awesome. Great choice not only in the colors but also not parting the top. As usual it turned out fantastic. Anxious to see the finishing of your wall hanging next week and see you mounting that on your vacuum chuck...:)
Thank you so much!
Absolutely gorgeous 😍 Congratulations to Opie. Love the colors. Take care, keep safe and warm.
Thank you! You too!
First,
That turned out great!
Second,
I love your commentary as you go and the solutions to the unexpected surprises that inevitably pop up.
Awesome, thank you!
Awesome looking bowl. Love the wood against that color and cool swirls in the resin. Congrats on 85K subscribers. Congrats to the winner

Congratulations Opie H! You are getting a gorgeous piece of art! I believe Jim’s workmanship is superior! Enjoy!
Wow. Thanks so much!
Ohhhhhh, Jim the master of resin and wood turning, this bowl is beyond beautiful. I have yet to see a piece I didn't like. You are a true artist. Be well my friend
Thank you very much!
Love all your videos, Jim. This is my first comment. If I were ever lucky enough to wind up in a bowl draw, I’d have my fingers crossed for one of these green resin projects. Green is my favorite color, and I think this may be my favorite of all the bowls I’ve watched you make. Cheers!
Awesome! Thank you so much!
Simply gorgeous. My husband and I love watching your videos and enjoy how you explain every step and make a point to provide insight to those little surprises that pop up. Your work is amazing!
Thank you so much!
My Good God ,I don't have words .. just so Amazing ,you rock. 👏👏👏👏👍. 👵💕
Thanks 😊
This creation makes me think of a planet with swirling clouds. Would definitely be worth any price tag that you would put on it
Me too, thanks!
Such a beautiful bowl, and the winner is quite lucky to acquire something of this workmanship, free or otherwise!
Thank you very much!
It's BEAUTIFUL! Love the shape, the form, the shape of the wood and the epoxy, and WOW the COLOUR is divine! Congrats to the winner! GG Jim!
And ;) congrats to Designer Epoxy
Thank you so much!
Your creative solutions never cease to impress.
Thank you very much!
I love the new colors as well. It is a very pleasing shape, Jim. Congrats Opie.
Thank you! Cheers!
I love the green color. I think you made good choices on this project. I think the voids/cracks/dark lines on the bottom add tons of interest to the bowl. You always seem to find the best way to show off the wood.
Thanks so much!
Missed on the 1/6 chance, maybe next time. Congratulations to the winner, they got a beautiful piece. Lovely resin and burl, the sacrifice of the plastic bowl was worth it.
Thanks 👍
You were right! Those two colors combined beautifully! Good call.
I think so too! Thanks
This is practically monochromatic for you. I’m not a fan of green. But GD! That is by far the nicest piece you have made in a while IMO. There’s no denying that you make maple burl trip the light fantastic-we’ve all seen that time and time again. But I think it was a combo of the chatoyancy in the wood and the thinness of the resin at the top letting more color shine through the walls that just hit that perfect delicate balance of light and dark. This one shimmered like it got a blast of fairy dust-even before you lit it from the inside. I rarely want to actually pay money to buy something someone else crafted, simply because I glean inspiration from other’s work and come of my shop with my twist, lit with petrol. Then I give or trade those away to someone that I know will be able to visit and see that piece again. (Glad most people tend to keep my pieces.) But the simple understated cleanness of this piece (witness line or not, you perfectionist) really does “DO IT” for me. Oh yeah. I would pay a few hundred USD for that. And I’d keep it for myself on the windowsill above my less messy workbench to ponder in the dim PNW winter light. Come to think of it: that green would be perfect for resin to age in. The yellowing of UV breakdown of plastics would be well hidden in green swirls. I envy Opie H or whoever ends up this one. 💚
Thank you so much for you’re kind words! Thanks for watching!
That green is beautiful! The wood is also fine inside and out. Out did yourself again!
Thanks
Beautiful even my 82 year old Mom wants one of your bowls😁😁😁
😊 thank you
Every time I watch you, you always create the most beautiful stunning pieces of resin wood art.
Hopefully one day I might win one of your pieces 😊

Thank you very much!
A blessed morning to all from Arizona.
Good morning! Thanks
Lovely colour and swirls with enough wood to make a purist happy
Thanks
I'm glad you didn't split it down the middle! That resin color and swirl is gorgeous, can definitely see the two colors.
Thank you so much!
I think that is one of your best work. You are number one in my book. I also love Designer Epoxy so glad you turned me on to it. Thanks.
Wow, thank you!
Oh Jim! This piece is absolutely breathtaking!! I've only ever commented and shared your videos on Facebook, this is my first time on CZcams, my hubby and I watch your videos all the time 🙂
Thank you very much!
That is beautiful - love the epoxy color. Good choice in choosing to turn it into a hollow form.
Congratulations winner!!
Thank you so much!
Sweet new colors and I love that burl the way it is with ray's on bottom ✌🍁

Thank you! Cheers!
A wonderful giveaway bowl! It’s been fun watching your channel continue to grow. Congratulations Opie H.
Thank you so much!
This is another beautiful piece. I love the colors. I like watching you because you usually do bigger pieces then other turners do.
Thank you so much!
Beautiful. Your projects are inspired. Thank you for sharing Jim!
Thanks for watching!
A beautiful piece 🥰 reminds me of a planet or river map. Was thinking that it could be turned into a lamp but that is just me 😁 congratulations Opie
Totally, thanks!
Amazing. Your pieces always look like a new beautiful planet with oceans. Love it! Hava Goodun Jim!
Thank you! Cheers!
Wow very beautiful. I agree you did make the right decision to make it the way you did. Those colors are amazing. Congratulations to the winner
Thank you so much!
Congrats, Opie, it’s a beautiful bowl.
Kudos, Jim…another great piece.
Thank you very much!
Really liked how project turned out, much better than a lidded box. Very interesting to see the thought process and problem solving to make the globe.
Thanks for watching!
Wonderful project... I actually snorted when you said "kind of like a project I did before but not really"...awesome description. What's funny is your best friend would probably just nod their head along with you and know exactly which one you meant! lololololol
Yup, that’s about right, lol. Thanks for watching
Thanks for featuring up front the caution re the scammers--it is so nice of you to address this just as much as you address the revenue aspects of your channel. If it is the first time being the target of one of these scam attacks, for someone who doesn't spend their life online, the come-on can seem real, and it's the more innocent viewers who need your kind caution sign. The bowl is lovely: I am among those to whom that bottom wood brilliance might have seemed better on top and more prominently visible! Last note: I am fascinated seeing you put together the puzzle pieces at the beginning as you "see" the final result in your mind's eye. Well done.
Thank you very much! The scammers were out in full force on this one. Received about ten emails so far. If it continues, I might need to shutdown the draws! I’m very frustrated with the whole thing!
@@SpragueWoodturning The scavengers and vultures and destroyers, it seems, we have always with us. It's so much harder, less common, more rare, to create--one reason so many love your channel :-) The makers and builders are among our many signs of hope.
This bowl is stunning! I absolutely love the greens!
I’m beginning to run out of words to express my delight in your art! Well done!!!!!
Thank you so much!
Well Jim, you've done it again. Thought I'd seen it all but this one moved up the list. Can't wait for the next one.
Thank you very much
Simply beautiful love the new colors. The swirling of the 2 colors really enhance the piece
Thank you so much!
Amazing final product as always Jim ! Thank you for your educational videos every week thanks to you I was able to help my old man get started on his new lathe he recently purchased for some home projects, he now watches your videos every week and is always trying something new! I had a thought as to something you could possibly use for these kinds of projects rather than the garbage bags. If you remember seeing the old circular candy machine domes that would hold the candy, some were made of plastic I remember and could be of use for these spherical projects! Just a idea but no matter what you make magic happen!
This would work but where where would you get some, lol. Thanks for watching!
Love the colors. You and I have similar likes in color. My two favorites are emerald green and colbalt blue.
Gorilla tape is the best! SO many uses for it!
Love the creative use of plastic and tape to create the mold.
The finished piece is fabulous!
Thanks
Cool colors. Designer Epoxy just keeps coming up with new things. I enjoy your creativity when it comes to different challenges when pouring resin.
Thank you so much!
Beautiful bowl, Jim. I love the colors of the resin with this wood. Take care.😊 Designer Epoxy
Thank you very much!
Beautiful work. Yes, I think you made the right choice, the hollow form preserved that beautiful resin.
Thank you very much!
Absolutely Gorgeous piece! Congratulations Opie! Jim you always do such amazing work! I love the new green also, very rich color.
Thank you very much!
Gorgeous!!!!! And another fun video - how quickly the hour goes. Thanks for sharing Jim!
Glad you enjoyed it
Now I can say amazing and beautiful bowl the colors really popped more than I had expected. Did not expect the swirling effect that it gave off but should expect no less. I lol are the packed rice
Congrats to the winner!
Thank you so much 😀
Beautiful turning. You are a true craftsman. My wife loves your work.
Thanks
Well done to the winner this is one I would loved to have won. You really are great at picking the colours they go so well together. I think you always have a great eye for form and shape too such a beautiful bowl. Well done Jim.
Thank you so much!
Not typically a green fan but this turned out amazing!!!!! Love these new colors.... Designer Epoxy
Thank you! Cheers!
That bowel is fantastic and you can definitely see the color separation.
Thank you! Cheers!
Gorgeous, Gorgeous, gorgeous as always. I love your art always. Blessings
Thank you so much!
You made the right decision. Beautiful! Love it.
Thank you! 😊
This green bowl turned out amazing! It’s so beautiful and Opie H is one lucky person to have received that win (I actually thought the bowls would be much more than you stated. $800 to $1,200 range.
Some of my more artistic pieces sell for that or more. Thanks 😊
Yes sir really love that color. What a wrestle with pouring!! I find myself shopping for more wood turning tools I’m gonna get in trouble with the mrs!! Bought a nice face shield yesterday so I can stop eating shavings!! Would you show more wood selection and how you keep the shop warm. Maybe a shop tour? Me and my shop vac are now good friends thanks to your videos!!! Thanks for sharing your work!

Omg, Jim, this bowl is just gorgeous. The colors are so rich and beautiful. They accent the burl magnificently. thank you for creating such wonderful pieces and sharing them. By the way, in addition to watching you create such amazing pieces, I am enhancing my vocabulary. I had never heard of chatoyancy until today. Can't wait to work that into a conversation.
Ha ha! Thanks for watching! 😊
I think you made the right call. Honestly, I'm a sucker for your work but this bowl is just beautiful. I think it is a truly beautiful piece. thank you for sharing.
Thanks 😊
I love the bottom rays going up. I mean sure, top would have been cool too, but I love this piece as it is!
Thanks
The shine on that is gorgeous! The greens really pop against the maple.
Thank you very much!
Love these greens! I also love the combination of the two burls, looks like continents in a swirling green sea.
I think so too! Thanks
