Hi. When I first saw your vid..it reminded me when september last year we shipped 4 minis from Chile to London Gateway to participate in the 60 anniversary of THE Mini in Bristol.
It was great to drive "on the other side of the road" on left hand side sterring wheel car. Never a problem but sometimes little nervous no to make a driving mistake.
Had a great time.

My 97 Cooper also had a useless fuel gauge when I bought it. The old sender float was leaky, so it filled with petrol. I bought a new sender, but when I tested it, it still only showed half full even when at the maximum position. I just bent the arm a little so that it read properly when full. It's quite easy to replace the sender as it is easily accessed in the boot. Biggest pain is that you need to drain the tank down. Cost for a new sender and the sealing washer was about £35 - definitely worth doing.
I'm living in Sheff too for uni, but I've had to leave my 1990 Mini back home in Nottinghamshire, can't afford to keep it on the road with this lovely student accomodation draining my bank account lol. Lovely motor by the way, the paint is 👌

"Multi-Story car parks are always fun in this car" except for when they have speedbumps bigger than your wheels and if you go over them anything faster than a snails pace you'll bottom out on the speedbump as the suspension travels
Hi Dan, nice to see back on the road again,i do like the engine noise in these cars, a whine every time you put your foot down,good job on the paint work very shiny.liking the tool box, well smart.

Nice car! I need to have my red paintwork polished up - I use the 3 stage stuff by hand but you still see the swirl marks, especially on the black roof. A local Waitrose car park near me has a "mini" only space...!

A classic mini has always been my dream car since watching the italian job when i was young , but as someone who who next to inept when it comes to cars and maintaining them the thought of buying one is terrifying :l

Owned a 71 van and a 98 cooper and sold em both this year. Starting to regret selling my cooper. Got an Audi Quattro as a project now but would love a Mk1 Cooper soon

I’m only 17 but I’m trying to save up for a mini that has an airbag, ac, and right hand drive without a ton of rust or missing parts and it’s a chore

It's been a while since my dad had the 850 and I remember we were getting well north of 35mpg.

Yes I know, I was literally parked for like 10 minutes only needed a few things
All dents in my car (not a mini but not big) I've collected in supermarket car parks ,most times when I'm away from vehicle ,attitude seems to it's an old car so it doesn't matter.
Nice mini,had lots in past ,62 saloon 68 van + pickup and more saloons,cheers.
Do you think the Mini is worth it, considering all the problems there are with them?
Yes definitely mate. It a minor thing the issues you have. You still love them know matter what. They are still worth investing in.
Mr DJC what are the most common problems you have with yours? I heard that rust, oil and the electrics are killers of these.
Rust is the main issue. They leak a bit of oil which is normal for these engines, even when they were new they leaked. Electrics aren’t really a massive issue.
Mr DJC But is the rust a massive issue? Or are people just exaggerating?
Rust is a big issue especially with later cars. They weren’t built as well as the earlier cars. They rust in certain places. The best thing to do is to buy one that it solid both on top and underneath. You can easily spend £1,000 on bodywork without really trying.

Wait how is an 18 yr old car a classic even if it is from the very last production run of the old mini design
Everyone calls the old mini a classic as the design isn’t modern anymore
Mine's 28 years old and I'd consider this Mini, my Mini or a Mini from 1960 to be as much of a classic as the next one.
It's a car designed in the 50's so it's definately a classic

You actively choose to park next to another car when there were spaces available without anyone nearby!? I refuse to do that in my modern car, nevermind in a valuable classic!
Yes I get that but I wanted to park next to a small car for photos. Also the spaces were big enough to stop people struggling to get into their cars. Normally I would park on my own.
@@MrDJC Fair point. I personally would have parked, got the pictures, then moved. But hey ho, I'm incredibly sad and have no life 😂

I agree - but I find that even if you park right at the far end of a car park, someone with a battered old people carrier will always come and park next to you - even if there are loads of empty spaces.......
Surely a mini has two fuel tanks
But that's not a real classic mini with SU carbs, the big speedo in the middle, 10'' wheels and a set of points, your car has fuel injection an ECU and a few more creature comforts and I hate minis that think they are coopers.....
Iv now got both Carbureted and fuel injection mpi cooper sports and yes Thay are different to drive But still fun and Thay are both 1275
