Please my light just went off and stopped heating what could be the cause?
When it overheats, the heat control system is set up to go off automatically. Kindly try to use it again with a different power socket, and if it doesn't heat then we can assume to be a fault.

Well the cable does that automatically, but that doesn't mean it will stop heating. If yours stops heating after the light shuts off then you'd have to probably change the power cable.

Remove the connector and wash it like you'd wash any utensil

Oh no, it has to be non stick
Don't fry with it, it'll consume all the oil cause the light automatically goes off when it over heat, hence why it consumes oil. Aside the frying, everything else is good. I use it to cook all foods except frying. The one i got is very small, i need a +size for my soups....
