  • I spent the last 7 days studying Italian using nothing but the new ChatGPT-4o to find out if AI is really the future of language learning. During the challenge, I tested different prompts and compared it to popular apps such as Duolingo. Andiamo!

Italian is actually a special version of the Japanese language.

The first thing I typically learn in any language is pronunciation. The biggest things I noticed is that you'll want to pronounce ch as a k sound; c followed by i or e makes a ch sound; and gli makes kinda like a lyee sound. 🙂 The channel that helped me a lot with the basics of Italian was Italy Made Easy.
PS: if I recall correctly, you'll always want adverbs to be attached to the verb. Ex: Parli bene l'italiano. That's why Duolingo considered that one sentence incorrect.

i usually use chatgpt as my vocabulary builder and usually asking differences between close verbs that have similar meanings etc. its a great tool to ask for meanings of words and u can literally also ask it to refer to a spesific dictionary on the internet so u can make sure its legit too and it creates pretty solid example sentences. id say experience is 8.5/10

I started learning Italian on Duolingo two weeks ago. Now I think I'll try to incorporate chat gpt as well!

I suggest you to combine chatgpt and lingq, that way it automatically generates the audio and you can learn better, save words, use flashcards etc. I'm italian, the AI not doing a bad job... but as you mentioned the listening part is important and you are gonna be much more confident speaking and reading if you have a good pronunciation

Yeah, I would definitely like to try LingQ! From what I’ve heard, if you can get into it, it is one of the absolute best resources to learn a language!

Sono italiana e per 7 giorni la tua pronuncia non è per niente male, alcune frasi che hai fatto su duolingo che risultano sbagliate non erano neanche poi così tanto sbagliate, ci stavano :)

@abdi_252 well yes, the thing that makes my language complicated I think is the fact that there are also dialects but honestly for dialects I don't know much either that I am a native speaker hahahah
