What I don't understand is that twitch didn't see this coming and had to immediately revert the changes. They must be pretty dumb if they didn't think that was going to happen.
My farts are better than Oompaville's farts 💨
It was a particular department that wanted the changes cuz they’re cucks. And when the top brass learned about it they immediately reverted the policy
Or, they knew it was going to happen and because they "tried it" they can now tell all the artists that wanted this, "well, we tried it your way and it failed miserably." Remember, initially their statement was, "we are listening to what a lot of artists have had to say about our regulations..."
The chipmunks that come up with their policy ideas can’t think that far don’t judge 😤
@@headkickedthey could have also been testing the waters to see the reaction although it's not that likely considering how far over the line the changes were
Genuinely, why is it so hard for both sides to accept that they have some responsibility in this situation. People need to restrict and watch what kinds of access their kids have access to. It is ALSO the responsibility of the website to moderate their content. Twitch is a 13+ website, and if they want to add 18+ content, Twitch needs to do a better job at separating the two kinds of content. Adult content is an interesting avenue of monetization that Twitch was looking into, but keep it art/gaming related since that is the original idea behind the company. Twitch never should have added categories that incentivize sexualization if they didn't want it on their platform in general. They need to pick an avenue and stick with it, the more they backpedal the less reliable they are. If twitch does manage to create a working separation of 13+\18+ content (which is highly unlikely), it doesn't change the fact kids can just lie about their age. Assuming we had that perfect space, children who are unsupervised could still access that "adult" content. At that point we're back to the issue being on the parents, not the company.
Ultimately though, under the current systems, Twitch should not have any form of adult content on its platform. No form of softcore "corn", nor hot-tub streams. Go to an actual adult site for that content. Unfortunately I truly believe that Twitch will never get back into a "profitable" state as a company, unless they give some control back to actual gamers. The people leading the company clearly don't understand the heart of the community, and are there solely to milk the community for money. Even then though, they don't understand that. They're still hemorrhaging money.
Their biggest problem has been dividing their own community. At the same time though, if nobody actually leaves then all the complaints mean nothing. I hope the other streaming sites just focus on improving their service, because this is a golden opportunity for them. If twitch continues to fumble the bag while they keep improving, eventually enough people will see the alternatives and just switch. Twitch will only listen once they start bleeding users and income, cause unfortunately that’s what it takes nowadays to make any company care.

Twitch is the furthest thing from what it set out to be as possible. It's a shame how they just bend the rules and do anything to avoid accountability or remove their cash cows.
Look while I do get the view that parents should be in charge of their kids, I do still agree that it shouldn’t be on twitch and these streamers are just predatory and pushing fans to only fans. There is a very simple solution to this just permanently ban these women blatantly trying to find ways to skirt around the rules knowing they are wrong for doing it. Problem solved right there.
Yeah exactly
@@thewholething430 there are apps they can use to block kids from certain sites- they don't need to be right next to the child to censor what they watch anymore.
@@faerie5926 kids are not dumb and can find a way to get around blocks very easily. If you give anyone access to the internet, they will find anything they want.
Lets be real, no Twitch worker ever could bring concequences to somebody they thirst over.
@@faerie5926 That works if you're only thinking of kids being on computers. Its infinitely harder to block access to stuff once the kids are old enough to have a cell - which is around 11 yrs old in America. Theres so many ways to circumvent blocks making it near impossible to block what they are watching on their phones outside your own residence. In most cases even as young teens, kids are more tech savvy than their parents.
The main issue is that they want us to believe it has to do with artistic integrity, when the reality is that the Twitch team has shown that they let their lower halves do the thinking when it comes to business decisions and rule enforcement.
Lower half as in wallets?

If someones kid is on an 18+ site they can see that and prevent their child from watching it. If their child is on a 13+ app or site, then they have nothing to worry about because its 13+ but with that content twitch is allowing parents wont know that their kid is watching that because twitch is, *13+*

I'm surprised that the ad's are still coming. Waiting for the adpocolyps-twitch-edition.
My favorite Arc of this show was when twitch did the left field move of "allow pretty much everything so long as it's artistic". And then instantly all of art become nothing but corn of all varieties.
That said, youtube has infinitely worse on it. You can search for any kind of fetish/kink and find tons of videos & animations on it.
Therr are sites for stuff like that and it's not twitch. Twitch has seen a shift in the audience but it's still for children. Parents having to have an eye on what their kids watch doesn't make the content more suitable for the platform

I get the conversation about places online not being for kids, but like, even the places meant for kiddos are full of adults being weird and awful (sometimes fully predatory). It’s not realistic to say they shouldn’t be online. So where can the wee ones go and be safe? CZcams Kids had that scary situation with inappropriate content with Elsa and Spidey. Can’t even count on Neopets or Club Penguin these days…
I’m not a parent so maybe I’m missing something. I do think we, collectively, can do better. Surely we can, right?
Software helps a lot in blocking adult content. But when that adult content is lumped in with the roblox streams my stepson loves to watch and the only barrier to entry is a button saying "don't click this unless you are over 18" what are we supposed to do? The only other option is to block the entirety of twitch and that would crush him. But hoochies need money and their simps will protect them to the end. Sorry kiddo, unlike some people you get no safe spaces.
@@thewholething430 if they don’t get serious and start developing these tools and self regulating better, the government *will* get involved. And boy howdy, that’ll be messy. At this point parents just need to accept that the internet is not for kids and is a very dangerous place for young minds. The internet makes kids grow up faster than necessary when they’re overly exposed to mature topics.

These are so out of touch, how is this an excuse when it should be added to the problem
Not to mention Twitter atleast has a 18+ category you need to switch in and im pretty sure you chat even access it if your account is young
Parents should watch their kids but these websites being 13+ should add more restrictions for said kids, if CZcams can do it so can these multibillion dollar companies
This will have irreprable consequences for the young children who should NOT be exposed to this kind of content

Not trying to be down bad but what’s the twitch streamers name…?
I feel like since the app is definitely used by minors, and is targeted towards minors (as it’s 12+ on the AppStore) the parents definitely need to make sure to watch what their kids are consuming, but also the app needs to watch what they’re letting the 12+ year olds are doing.
I do see an issue with it, but then again twitch does let a lot of whacky stuff slide… so yea idk.
I think it’s definitely mostly a app problem, they police too much and then don’t actually police it when someone else does it.
They need to implement an age verification that doesnt just involve a button but some kind of ID age verification
I think the reason most people are irritated is cause the content that twitch use to promote and was built off of is being pushed to the side to make way for a very poor double standard rule system and “content” that is unoriginal and in the case basically softcore “p*rn”. When I think of twitch I think of my favorite creators doing gaming or life streams with other creators like it used to be. Idc about whether it’s safe for children or not I just care that it’s turning into another streaming site with garbage I can find better anywhere else online (for free). It’s like stop saying you’ve always been this all inclusive kind of gaming at the roots platform and just embrace what you are; a no standards platform that doesn’t care about their audience or creators that actually try to make quality content.
EDIT: after fully finishing the video it seems they stopped pretending to care and just said the quiet part was okay

Weird that adults think their problem with policing their kids needs to be everyone else's problem. It's crazy that Google is free so they could block these sites.
I hate the whole "what about the children?? Think about the children" argument 😂😂 so we all have to be PC, not swear, not do anything that kids MIGHT stumble onto? Be for real
Why do you feel inconvenienced to do the right thing? It's literally no different to how you should present yourself in the public eye. It is everyone's responsibility, If that wasn't the case, then the public view would be a very different place. Everyone should do their part, and not doing so is disingenuous to the human experience. All you would have to do is add a NSFW tag and require an ID age verification. My state already does this to view corn. Literally takes 60seconds to click a button and load images of your ID. And it's not a breech of privacy when you consider how much information is gathered on you in general through Google software and other apps you may use.

honestly i think they just need to make it where streams can be flagged as 18+ so any minor cannot see it. feels like a p simple fix even if kids can bypass it. up to the parents atp to make sure their children do not
I like this. Idk if twitch does it but require an age verification. For their safety, minor safety, streamers safety as well. But it should be up to the streamer to mark it as 18+. That way it is all responsibility on the streamer and they suffer the consequences of their actions. 18+ should follow the typical stuff that would be rated as such.
You do realize very rarely do people put their actual age and you can just lie on your birthdate to access the adult content?
Advertisers will love this
@@AtPlay22 true, legally tho it protects the content creator and platform. How corn sites do things and sites that contain any 18+ content. So if they take that precaution on their end it’s up to the parents entirely on their own end plus it helps prevent just randomly stumbling into it. It’ll actually be censored or blocked from seeing actual content until you put in a date of birth.
@@AtPlay22Ya don’t say? At the end of the day it’s up to the parents to handle their kids
it's funny, most of the big arguments could be avoided by just hiding 18+ content from people who arent signed in and also make a setting when you are setting in that shows 18+ content if you want it, then just enforce using the 18+ tag or make the tag nsfw so it fits more since there are different kinds of 18+ content
twitch makes money of this, so they wont do alot about it. And since women make the most amount of money doing this content they will also most likely get the least amount of punishment for doing it. So they twitch has to either get strict and punish everyone fairly ( meaning they will lose money ) but their site wont turn into what its turning right now, or they will continue doing what they are doing now ( make money )
@@ibotair74 obviously they wont stop this considering how much twitch is making on this as well, but i think still that my suggestion would be a valid way to at least do the minimum effort to hide it from audience that might not want to see it, just make a nsfw tag on twitch, make it mandatory to use if you are a nsfw channel, and then make it so nsfw tagged channels are hidden both if you arent logged in and by default if you are logged in, and add a option in account settings to show nsfw content, that way you wont easily stumble on it but if you do know you want to see it, you can easily make that type of content shown
They need to implement an ID age verification system like roblox did for voice chat and age restricted games

The legitimate question I got to ask and everyone is going to have to answer is: what kind of self-respecting individual would want to stream on Twitch anyway when there are better alternatives like CZcams and others?
Why would I want to stream on Twitch anyway at this point it's not even worth it. Especially when it comes to favoritism. Their policies are often times very inconsistent. They cannot even apply the terms of service equally for everyone no matter what.

False. SuperMega defended THEMSELVES and posted definitive proof that they communicated to Morgpie about that situation months before the whole drama began and buried the hatchet well before she decided to come out with that information and use it against Matt, not to mention some aspects about the original allegation being potentially a coordinated character assassination. @@cajampa

The main isse is Twitch bans and TOS are very inconsitence. One streamer will get banned for so little and another won't get banned despite violating TOS. I also do agree that parents should moniter their children internet activity, but there is several issues with that as well. One, the kids easily by pass that by either going to a friends house or wait until the parent is out of the house or use incognito tab. Plus Twitch itself market as a 13+ website so imagine a parent who knows nothing about Twitch, thought it was okay for their children to use Twitch since it is 13 and above. What Twitch should do is require an ID to access 18+ content or change their 13+ rating to 18+ rating, maybe also blur the 18+ conternt as well when browsing.

I think the whole point here is that streams like Morgpie are incredibly predatory and only exist to push fans to their more risque platforms. The whole lot of them should be removed from the platform because at the end of the day Twitch IS a website with young adults/children and has ALWAYS been a website with young adults/children. Twitch is still letting the reindeer dude girl choose who is banned.
The problem has never been twitches rules, its how it completely just picks and chooses who they want to ban or not ban for either small or massive infractions. Twitch has always been extremely unclear about its rules and lets things that arent allowed on there all the time then ban someone for doing something that arguably is ok. zero consistency in their enforcement
