I’m so exited for starship because starship will grant full easy access to the solar system. People like to say how the starship will bring us to the moon and mars but many people don’t really mention how starship will allow asteroid mining , the building of massive space stations such as rotating space stations and o Neil cylinders. Starship will allow the exploration of the outer solar system through refueling on mars and the construction of massive nuclear powered spacecraft in low earth orbit.
Starship is the ticket to humanity’s conquest of the solar system

For the sake of the children of the engineers, I strongly hope for next launch to exceed expectations. Really also strongly hope for mechazilla success and eventual substantial redesign. How about an artificial giant bush resembling a 10 acre forest, made of fiberglass and carbon-fiber shrub branches and leaves, and having a water jet deluge and support thrust. So it's like landing in a field of 100 ft. Tall corn or cotton plants.

Nice video. I'm not sure it's 100% correct about this though; "However this launch mount contains most of the systems that are responsible for igniting the 33 engines." Certainly the engines with relight capability *can* (obviously) start without the launch mount. Would SpaceX go for the added complexity of giving those engines two separate sets of ignition hardware? I can't find an official confirmation, but what I've seen stated in several places is that in fact only the outer 20 Raptors are started by the launch mount.

at time of separation, the upper stage does not necessarily have to go immediately to full power. they can fire at like 50%, then after separation, bring the vacuum raptors up to full power. This will help reduce damage to Hot Stage Ring and top of booster.
And, I doubt all 6 engines will fire on the ship during separation. Probably just the 3 outer vacuum engines.

Why doesn’t the second launch of starship include reignition of the second stage engines prior to landing? Is SpaceX worried that the heat shield is not going to work? Remember, if SpaceX cannot make the heat shield approach, they are currently using work, a major redesign of starship will be required for a new Type of heat shield or approach to landing starship. The fact that SpaceX is not testing the heat shield by trying to reignite the second stage engines prior to landing is worrisome.

There is much better engine shielding on B9 onwards. B7 did have shielding as well but it was a retrofit so not as good as baked in from scratch. I imagine not having hydraulics and the fluid involed will go a long way a well to prevent fires especially as they have a beefed up fire supression system on the boosters too.

😂😂 the amount of fish and wild life in that area isn’t very expansive. Elon on a pod with Lex said the fish and wildlife people made spacex kidnap a seal, strap it to a board and then put head phones on it while a rocket was launched to see if it got stressed out. It did not, they released it and then had to catch another and run the same test. Even showed a photo. Stupid bureaucracy slowing down human advancements. They also asked about whales, and sharks, the odds of a shark, fish, or whale being hit is about the same as a human getting hit by lightning. Basically they are just super unlucky if that happens. They have massive cleanup teams in case of spills or when debris ends up offsite. Wouldn’t make sense to leave it when its needed for examination.

I still assert that the new attempt to launch this rocket in 2023 is unlikely. Even in 2024, the risk of something going awry is considerable, as they are behind schedule and need to race against the clock to meet NASA's deadlines. If there is a mishap during the launch, it would essentially mark the end of the project. In this regard, China appears to be more organized with a more realistic planning approach.
