- Overview of the Hasbro Black Series Boba Fett helmet. This was scheduled to ship on May the 4th but it had been popping up at retailers early. In this video, the BS helmet is compared to the recent EFX Boba Fett as well as the original Master Replica's helmet.

I found an interview online with a member of Hasbro's design team. They actually went to the Lucas film archives and did a 3D scan of the original joe Johnston helmet used in empire strikes back. They of course said slight changes were made because the original helmet had cracks and showed the signs from being on a shelf for 40 years plus moving around to museums and conventions.
Yep, so it's cool that it still has that direct connection to the screen-used prop. I think some changes were made for safety considerations, too.
And no wonky brow

The absolute best Fett helmet out there. Going from $500+ to right over $100 for a _better_ product is astonishing.
Best bang for buck yes. Interior sure. But the EFX has a far better paint job. The product is incredible but I think the EFX is still superior in terms of accuracy.

Considering I'll never see the EFX one, I'll still 99.9% agree with you. The paint apps on the Hasbro one look fine from (maintain at least) six feet away. It's a bit low res, and doesn't look metallic. But the thing that I instantly noticed and bothers me the most are the incorrect kill stripe colours. They're _soooo_ muted, and don't fade from (it's super saturated dull) yellow to a (super saturated dull) orange.
Exactly. You can easily use it for the cosplay especially if you do a little repaint.

Helmet is so amazing for the money...I've seen a lot of em with that same kill stripe issue...also the cat scratch is missing the bottom portion on alot of em...but still....I think its the best black series helmet to date.. Hasbro killed it on this one
Ahh, so the kill stripes isn't just me? It's a little weird and the only thing that bugs me about the helmet. But it's minor and I'll deal with it. It still looks great overall.

Amazing Boba Fett collection, or museum, thanks for sharing. Boba is my favorite Star Wars character. Thinking about the EFX, but I think I'll be happy with the Hasbro helmet.

Thank you for this video ! You convinced me to buy this myself. I always wanted to own a Boba Fett helmet replica, but their prices were all way too much for my taste. This one seems like a perfect compromise between quality/looks and price.

Nice review ! Just purchased this helmet , and I have to say I’m blown away by how great it is … finally , people can get a close representation to the on screen prop for a fraction of the cost compared to high end collectables like EFX for eg . To me for the money , it’s a no brainer .

I just got mine yesterday, and it's amazing...and comparing it to yours to check their production consistency, your kill stripes angle seems to be a production issue on that helmet, as mine are properly aligned. But I did notice ALL of the paint job on our helmets are IDENTICAL. The Hasbro paint job seems automated. But that's ok, because it looks great either way!
I have the EFX on the way as well and can't wait to get that one too.
I compared the paint job of the Hasbro to the screen used helmet, since I have the 4K Star Wars Saga set, viewing Empire in glorious razor sharp 4K on my 65" reveals SO much detail,. and you know what, the Hasbro ,and the EFX are almost DEAD ON with the paint job. Master Replicas version is not. It's close in places, but there are so many more correctly painted areas on the Hasbro / EFX helmets.

So, good spotting the difference between the EFX/Hasbro and MR paint jobs. The reason for that is when Master Replicas was producing their helmet, they used the wrong helmet. They THOUGHT they had the screen-used ESB helmet but they actually had the Preproduction 3 (PP3) helmet, which was painted similarly to the final ESB helmet, but there are differences in paint and shape. Good eye, man.
The kill stripes on mine dont run down like that. Theyre straight across. I can see where the photo printing is off on a couple spots, but definitely agree for 100$ you wont find a better one. Seriously impressed with Hasbro on this one.
So I got my helmet the other day and I also have the problem where my head is too big for the head strap. What I had to do is take the strap out and basically dismantle the adjustment mechanism. I found that the mechanism is just so thick it takes up too much room even though you can technically adjust it further. I then temporarily affixed the straps at the right adjustment for my head with some electrical tape until I can figure out a better, more comfortable, and more permanent solution. Was I happy to do it? No. But I can wear it now and I absolutely love it. Even pre ordered the prototype boba helmet they’re making!
Wow, I'm impressed. You put in a LOT more effort than I did. lol I did notice how loose the mechanism was inside. I didn't really care, though, since I'm not going to wear it. I just tried it on because... well... I had to. lol But yes, I ordered the prototype helmet, as well! I'm super pumped about it.

It looks like it's got the best T visor I have seen , the other props looks a bit too thin.
Good observation. The t-visor, and overall plastic, feels thicker than the EFX version. Probably done so because they figure kids will still be playing with it.

I just ordered mine on eBay for 280!! Seems like the price has gone up quite a bit since it was first released! Also now with Fett in the mandalorian and the original Fett passing away I predict anything Fett will skyrocket in price!!
Checked the paint stripe on mine and its perfect. It doesnt go in
They're only wider on the dome. The bottom seems to flair out more on the Hasbro so if you place the openings onto each other they should be same.
Also the head adjuster comes out so you can see out the visor, just put in a foam band instead

I was wrong. It came today and i´m absolutely stunned. I love it.
Sadly, my rangefinder doesn't work and I had to super glue the earpiece/rangefinder on, owing to the fact that continued removal in an effort to get it working wrecked the clips. I have most of the Black series helmets and I find this one a little disappointing.
Aw, man. I'm sorry to hear that. I did notice the earpiece was difficult to take off. Would you consider exchanging it?
After I superglued it? I think EB Games would just laugh at me. It doesn't bother me all that much, as it will just be a static display along with all my other SW prop replicas.

I definitely have a soft spot for the MR helmet! I love how sturdy it is, it is definitely the highest quality, being made out of fiberglass.
EFX has lineage to the actual ESB helmet, EFX molded the screen used helmet, which is why you see those little nuances
Yup, they molded it years ago. It was done by a guy named Gino, who is well-known in the prop hobby and industry. If I'm not mistaken, Hasbro did a 3-D scan of the ESB helmet for this then just did a little clean up on it.

I got mine today. I removed the head liner thing on the inside. My head is huge lol. But I fit after removing it. It just snaps out.
That's what I had to do, too. The only thing is now it kinda wobbles. Can't win them all. lol

It sucks that the stripes are slanted! I totally am still SUPER stoked for this thing, but I hope mine doesn't have that because it will drive me CRAZY! (Pretty sure I have un-diagnosed OCD lol)...also there's another video on here that shows that they got one from Hasbro to do a video review, and that one's strips are straight (here's the link: czcams.com/video/ndUzrq7_hPQ/video.html ....skip to 2:44 to see the strips), so it seems like it's a "case by case" basis as to if they're straight or crooked...I suppose that's a sacrifice that's made when it's something that's "mass produced" instead of the more expensive hand painted ones...Thanks for the excellent video though! Loved that you compared it to other helmets too!

@@ebobhazard No problem...I've been calling around all the stores in my area to see if they've been getting them in, but unfortunately most have either said they haven't been getting them, or (for example, at Walmart lol) they have no idea what I'm even talking about haha...I have one pre-ordered through Amazon, but they keep saying as far as they know, they're not shipping them early, and I'm impatient lol
I guess you find Boba Fett armor pretty cool huh ? :) Anyway my helmet just arrived and its amazing quality. There is really no downside to it especially for the price.

To get it to fit my head, I have to remove the hardhat liner. But I seemingly have a big head. Lol
I'm exactly the same way. I knew before I bought mine that my head wasn't going to fit because I can't even wear baseball caps unless I special order the larger sizes. So when I found out that I can remove that liner inside and the helmet fit perfectly then I was so excited that it fit!!
Instead of removing the liner, I removed the cranking device that pulls the liner together in the back. It's sort of snapped in, and with a flat bladed tool I was able to non-destructively get it off. Now it fits great yet still stays in place with some padding on the top of my head.
i took the liner out and stuck a pad in it and it perfect fit now...
Yep, exactly what I do if I want to put it on.

Ebob Hazard True! Never know there may only be a few out there like that, so maybe it is worth keeping the misprint one. Especially if it’s just going to sit on display, atleast it’s got a bit of uniqueness and a story to it!
Do only I see that or is the left side of the t visor of the efx just bended down oder out of shape it looks not really good to me
The real movie helmet is like that, it is supposed to be pretty wonky. The original props were sculpted by hand. Hasbro made their helmet "idealized" and fixed those "issues".

Hasbro altered the shape slightly to make it symmetrical but the overall dimensions are 1:1 to the EFX.

I only have overhead lighting in my apartment but if my videos get popular enough and there's demand for more professional, higher quality videos, then sure. I genuinely enjoy sharing with the community and the conversations that come out of it, so hopefully people will keep watching!
Just a question: do you prefer Boba Fett being a Mandalorian or not?
Before the Mandalorian aired, it bothered me more, but the idea of the "honorary" Mandalorian recontextualized it for me. So, to me, it still leaves the door open for him being a Mandalorian.

There have been reports of a lot of weirdness with the paint application. Some helmets are missing colors or whole patterns. I've seen several people in in the comments section they have similar problems as mine. But it's not a huge deal to me. But I'm glad yours is right!

Oh, I don't sell them but they're available at Walmart.com, GameStop.com, HasbroPulse.com, BigBadToyStore.com, etc. I had heard Game Stop was offering a discount on them, too.

No, this helmet does not include a voice changer. The only electronic features are the lights.
