Gyrocopters have come a long way since I was a kid, my dad and I built a Benson B-8M in the early 70s and learned to fly it ourselves.
How could you NOT like a sweet machine like this? I'm writing Santa today for this year.
Great looking - Just paid for my 17 year old son's pilot license training one of these would be a blast to fly around in the Boston area.

I flew a Cavalon at Bay Bridge. It was fun and I had a white knuckle grip when the IP doing the demo and he said pull the throttle to idle. I’m waiting for a stall warning and a buffet that never came! It won’t stall. That is weird and it takes some getting use to. Really cool aircraft. I’ve seriously pondered getting one.

It is called a GYROPLANE. Gyrocopter and Autogyro are brand names.

No, retreating blade stall occurs when the airspeed:rotor speed ratio is too HIGH, decreasing the relative speed of the retreating blade through the airflow across the chord of the blade.
When the rotor speed gets too LOW at normal airspeeds, both the retreating blade and the advancing blade lose lift, which is not the same as RBS.

Rotor speed is dependent on autorotation, which is independent of the engine. It's low-G maneuvers and/or excessive control inputs "unloading" the rotor that causes low rotor speed in flight, not engine failures.
SeikiBrian so if the craft is moving quick and the rotor slows, isn’t that exactly the same thing?

Okay, so it can't stall, so you don't have to fly angle of attack, but, what if the engine fails? Does it have a parachute?

How come the helicopter requires a tail rotor to counter the opposite rotational force created by the main rotor but the gyro plane does not need one?
The main rotor is only engine powered at start, during flight it is self-rotating. It is more like a "rotating wing" providing lift than a rotor. I am not sure though.

It probably has auto gyro capabilities if there is a so called engine failure.How much is the kit.I know for a fact that it will cost me less to operate in maintenance fees and insurances versus one of my planes,far less!!.They are really interesting and I will end up purchasing another toy to keep in my hanger down the road.Thanks for the video.Ray the Pilot
+Ray Taylor "Gyrocopters" are always in autorotation, unlike helicopters which have to transition to autorotation. A gyroplane that looses engine power simply flys its inherent glide ratio to a suitable landing site and flairs to an almost 0 airspeed touch down.

Oh my gosh, how do you heat the cockpit? What about icing conditions? What is the service ceiling?
You can run a heater of the liquid cooled Rotax engine. Carb icing is not a problem with the 912 series of engines, but there are also carb heaters available.
Liquid cooled ! Wow, engines have changed so much. :)
Light Sport and Ultralight Flyer Dr. Klimpt's gyro uses the 912iS, so there is no carburetor to heat, unlike the other engines in the 912 series, which are normally aspirated.

It's really pretty but it's just TOO much money for what you're getting. Plus there's really not a good engine for it yet. Even with a 914 you're still not getting all the performance you could get with say a 130 or 150hp engine. Unfortunately there aren't any of those engines certified that are light enough.

Can't stall? Vertical descents? Thrill-seekers do those all the time when they get tired of thinking or have totally abandoned the Physics of this universe. Lovely funerals too. They leave the average IQ of the planet slightly elevated. If anyone tells you this is a STOL type aircraft keep your camera on them; CZcams needs videos. IOW: Stay within the designed performance specs it is the safest aircraft ever built.

+rafael khalitov Одно дело - подготовленная, укатанная грунтовая полоса и совсем другое - брошенные поля, луга, дороги с колеями. Нужен ротоплан для полётов на природу, а не вокруг аэродрома летать. У этого не подрессоренное шасси, что не очень хорошо и пневматики малого диаметра, только для асфальта или бетонной ВВП. С грунта, вдвоем сильно разбег увеличится, Он и так-то не круто взлетает. Здесь всё отдано аэродинамике и наворотам в кабине.
У вас что, культ неровных полей и ухабов? Если у тебя он окажется, сразу найдёшь и поле ровное и ухабы заровняешь.
