    Just my two cents and advice for others. Unless you are competitively racing, I'm talking pro or semi pro, you do not need a $1000 set of rotors. Unless you are driving your car at levels where you are a squeezing every inch of performance out of your car and extra few pounds of weight savings will make a difference, then by all means. But for the average aggressive daily driver and weekend track junkie, brake pad choice is way more important than lightweight expensive rotors. I can't almost guarantee that the majority of owners don't drive their Z06 so hard that they can tell the difference between stock rotors and expensive lightweight Racing rotors. Even brake pad choice should be selected for your ACTUAL driving, not your fantasy. So track pads on street cars are bad choices. If you track your car, the ideal situation is the have two sets of reasonably priced rotors and a set of low dust street pads and a set of high dust high friction track pads and swap out your pads and rotors before you go to the track. My point is that no street car benefits from expensive rotors besides bragging rights. Even cars that come with the extremely expensive carbon fiber rotors are overkill for the majority of drivers. A guy at the track once told me, instead of spending $2,000 on mods, take that $2,000 and go to a weekend racing school. Stock cars are way more capable than our actual driving skill or need.

      Thank you sir! I did the pad bedding procedure yesterday and they work great with the rotors. Stops super fast, no squeaks or squeals, and the best part - when I got home there was no brake dust anywhere on my wheels! :)

      The brake dust is insane on my vette as well, I spend 3 hours washing the car and cleaning the wheels and within 3 minutes of driving alls you see is brake dust.

      The OEM pads stop great, but the dust is maddening. Once I got my new black wheels I knew eventually I'd want to get different pads because they would get filthy after each drive, and I *hate* cleaning wheels. LOL. With these new pads I'm planning on blowing them off with my compressor and doing a simple wipe down from time to time, and a thorough wash of the wheels maybe once or twice a year, tops.

      Good decision you made there. Hate cleaning wheels, the worst

    Man I wish you lived in my area haha It’d be nice to have a car mentor who had his own equipment and tools, and the resources to get the job done. Hope I can do the same some day. Thanks for the video!

      Geoff Christian Thank you sir! I’m just a novice but love to research and try new things. I’ve done more on my vette than any other vehicle. It’s a little daunting at first but after a few jobs I got pretty comfortable. Thanks for the view!

    I'm considering these rotors and pads for my C6Z, how was the stopping power and dust levels compared to the stock brakes?

    Hi! I just bought these same rotors and am planning on following your method of clearing the inside of the rotor face. How did that hold up for you?

    Why did you not go power stop rotors as well?

    i appreciate that you took the time to make this video, but it's not a very good video. the first 11.5 min of your video had NOTHING to do with the install, aside from a quick "clean the rotors before install" that could have taken 5 seconds. And then you didn't even show how you pushed the pistons in. At the end of the video you mentioned some caliper spreaders or a c clamp, so I guess they're not the type of pistons that have to be screwed in, but you didn't mention that at the time of removal/install. You didn't show how you took the rotor off or put the new one on. Basically all this video did was "show off" you brakes and how meticulous you are with making your brakes look pretty. If you make another "install" video, focus on the actual steps and less on the extraneous stuff that is specific to your tastes and parts. Was not a very helpful video. Again, I appreciate that you took the time to make it though.

      @@ZWHOA6Productions what do you think about the hawks? They are alittle bit more expensive

    • @ZWHOA6Productions
      @ZWHOA6Productions  Před 5 lety +1

      Abu Nation I’ve heard mixed reviews. The ceramic hawks don’t stop as well as powerstop and the metallic hawks dust way more.
