2005 Vette Having the same issue. Both Battery and Alternator are brand new (and the starter) Car will crank with no problem and go to about 14.2 and then while idling about 5 mins will drop to 12.0 or something and the Service Charging System code will come on. BUT the car doesn't stall and afterwards will slowly climb back up to around 13.2 or whatever. My advice is to make sure your cables are good and tight. I did disconnect my battery and let my alternator just run the Car and it held at a steady 14.0 no bouncing around. (my old alternator when I did that would have the needle bouncing around and the car would be about to cut off). So to make certain I'm going to check my connectors at the starter and make sure they are on tight and see if that helps. If that doesn't....then I'll take the brand new alternator and get it checked to see maybe replace it but right now the car runs strong. The Charging system checked code is not comforting at all so it has to go. Great video and good work! Enjoyed it!
@@vrcorvettes2048any luck fixing this? I’m having the same issue on a manual c6 ls3. Changed alternator and battery but still getting service charging system.
My alternator failed on my C6 Z06. I replaced it with a new one. Now I always have the service charging system warning on the DIC all the time. These cars are such pieces of shit. I wish I didn't love them so much
Hey man, I just installed a new alternator from GM for mg 07 c6z and i started it and let it idle and i noticed a smell of something burning coming from the alternator is that normal because its new orr ??
Don’t buy a alternator ever I have a c5 and those alternator the brushes get worn down $4 fix just open the alternator up and see bmw use the same alternators they are serviceable
Where did you buy the brushes? My mechanic says the alternator on my 2006 C6 is not serviceable and must be replaced as a unit. I'd rather spend $4 instead of $500+
🔥🔥🔥
changed my battery and alternator that exact same day, and voltage is at 13.6, too low?:/

It’s the alternator, happens often with oreillys alternators
My autozone alternator seems to be charging but do I need to replace it with oem to make the error go away?
@@slick408 not necessarily oem but there seems to be some brands that still have this issue
I see my 2005 voltage goes below middle at idling once I start running it goes back to 14.2.... 14.3 ...is this normal ?
Yes it is

Don’t remember this happening but if it went away and it’s charging ok should be fine
@@MPOWER-zg2kc it’s not working or it’s the service charging system light still on ?
