The perfect compliment would be to manufacture punches or cutting dies that fit the molds, then there's no scissors involved!
Hello @sharon94503! We do have punches that fit all of these molds, but the Dichro-ISH Films are so thin and slippery, they won't punch out cleanly. Wish they would though.

Such a creative, fun, INEXPENSIVE Idea! 💯🙏🏻
The only thing I can say about your work is Woooo you go girl. It so beautiful I love it I can't get over it
Why thank you @dorothymitchell771! I appreciate your kind feedback :)
This technique is addictive, and truly one of the easier techniques. I hope you get a chance to try it out!
fran@little-windows.com
Thsnk you very much that was so fascinating to watch . You are so clever and the things you made are all so beautiful. Very inspiring 😊
Beautiful Love it
Your narration voice is nice, but I could do without hearing you say 'super' every minute. Interesting technique. I found you because of Daniel Cooper. Thank you. Nice tips and tricks. Love it!
One thing I want to try to expand on your awesome idea is I saw a YT channel use some of that one-way UV privacy window film and stack it with the color film and WOW holy cow did it look amazing after heated!
That's really cool, what channel?
Oooooh yes please send that link! There are so many wonderful combinations, just be sure to test before any project you really care about to make sure any films don't delaminate or lose color vibrancy in resin.
Keep creating :)
fran@little-windows.com
Sounds like dichro-ish film in resin, then topped w a holographic silicone inlay on the mold? Wondering if thats what they ment...
❣
1way uv privacy window film? Where can one get some?
This is the best tutorial I have seen on using this film. Beautiful to watch and amazing results. Thank you ❤ x
Wow, thanks so much @appleoneill5135!
Make lots of beautiful stuff and send photos :)
fran@little-windows.com
Great stuff, love the quality of your molds (wish I was able to afford).
Only thing I’d recommend as I know a jeweller …. Never open close jump rings/links like that. It does weaken them…. They should be open closed in a twist motion if you get me…. So two sets of pincers and hold ring/link flat (so you see the whole O) the holding at at 3 and 9 pm position twist gently in opposite directions to open ring to required amount, then reverse to close.
The pulling open method you used weakens the link at the 6 pm position more.
Just a little tip🩷🩷🩷
Hello @cymorilgray1891, thanks so much for your feedback! I agree this isn't the best way to work with jumprings, the trouble with some of these pieces is that they are too thick to get the jumpring through by opening it the suggested way, that's why I sometimes open them like this, then squeeze them shut.
Fortunately, these sterling plated jump rings are super strong and I've never had trouble with weakness. I'll try to explain this better and show examples both ways in future videos.
I appreciate your input :)

Woah ❤
Those are beautiful!
Is there a reason you didn't dome them? I like how doming magnifies everything!
Hello @linwoodnymph6113! I did dome some of them, it really depends on which side ends up being the front/back, and the look you're going for. Also, if you have the time to dome up, some people don't and just want a single-pour project, but you're right, Doming Up can add another level of dimension and a super smooth finish!
fran@little-windows.com
Ma sono bellissimi!
I just found you and you have made almost everything I have ever wanted to make 🥰. Can you please do a video of bangles with a solid colorant inside and other things on the outside? So the colorant is split vertically in the bangle? I can’t wait to order your kits and make everyone’s Christmas gifts 🪅🪅🪅
Hello @pamelaeagleshield9696! I'm so glad you're loving these videos, I sure love making them!
If I understand correctly, this would be very difficult to do with liquid resin, but have a look at these 2 videos, as there are examples of colored flat pieces put in that are vertical, I suppose you could color the resin or add anything you want to the resin in front of that.
Vertical with Dichro-ISH Films and Clear Photo Film Images - www.little-windows.com/blogs/project-center/artistic-color-shifting-bangles
Vertical with Patchwork Dichro-ISH Film on Black - www.little-windows.com/blogs/project-center/fabric-inspired-resin-dichro-patchwork-jewelry-and-hair-clips
Or there may be some ideas in this video: www.little-windows.com/blogs/project-center/bangle-bracelets-ornaments-trinket-dishes-with-double-sided-large-molds
Can you send me a photo or sketch of what you envision so I'm sure I understand?
Thank you :)

Do you feel that the lower temp on your heat gun helps? I have one that doesn't give me an option and I'm not getting these great results. Thanks, Fran - love your products and your videos!

I just found you through Daniel C. Great video and products. On a side note, your voice is so soothing. Will you be my mom? lol Now I’m off to check out your store and probably spend too much
Awww, yes I will! Some of my customers call me "the Bob Ross of resin", which I find to be the very highest compliment. Some find my voice to be quite the sleep aid too!
Have fun creating, and let me know if I can be of any help along the way :)

We used to heat cellophane paper with a hair dryer when making gift baskets. Is this cellophane film the same as cellophane gift paper?
Hello! It's similar in transparency, but different in that the range of colors and reflections is broad, and the textures will be more pronounced. It's also great that these fuse together beautifully. They also hold embossing much better than a cellophane would.
Here's a link if you're interested in trying them out:

Hello... i love your work ....tell me how did you do the stone at 20.08......very nice....thank you....❤❤
Hello! Ooooh that's one of my favorites. That's made by embossing the Dichro-ISH film, then cutting the shape out and casting it in the Small Geometric Mold.
Here's a video that'll show you how I emboss this film, and the supplies you'll need. Different shaped projects, same technique:

мило
Are you doming the tops also or leaving them flat?
Hello @FriggasKloset! On some of them I dome (the keychain with the glitter sticker), other ones I just trim or sand down the top edge. It depends on what you plan to make, some things need that smooth glassy rounded top, others are great without.
Hope you have fun making yours, send pics if you can :)
fran@little-windows.com
Legal.
How did your top coat not fall off the edges when you domed it?
Hello @shovanabajracharya! Whenever I dome I make sure my surface and my resin bases are completely smooth and level. The Brilliant Resin I use is great at doming as it has a high surface tension, so that helps too.
I didn't topcoat (DomeUp) many of these projects, they come out of the molds super shiny. If you let me know which project you like best I'll be happy to describe my process.
Thanks for asking :)

Hi Julie, I am in the UK and just gone to purchase the dichroic films (4" x 10") and it says the postage is £24 - Surely something so lightweight wouldn't cost that much? Is that correct? Thanks x
Hello @bluebear1218, I'm not sure who Julie is, but our shipping prices are based on the total weight of your package, so that pricing does seem high. Did you have anything else in your cart?
If not, let me know and I will be happy to find a less expensive option for you :)
fran@little-windows.com
When I use the heat gun my film doesn’t crinkle up. It’s on a silicon mat but it doesn’t move it . What should I do differently?
Hello @lw3370, the surface on the back of the Silicone Doming Tray I'm using is super matte and doesn't grab the films, it sounds like the film may be sticking to your silicone mat, so I suggest using tweezers to push it into wrinkles, or try this technique on a piece of cardboard instead of the silicone, that may help.
Keep your silicone mat under the cardboard to help protect your surface from the heat, or use 2 sheets of cardboard, just in case.
Let me know how that works for you :)
fran@little-windows.com

Where are the ring findings and earring backs?
Hello Lois! I get most of my findings on Etsy, or taking apart old or broken jewelry.
Have lots of fun creating :)
fran@little-windows.com
Can you use UV resin?
Hello @meme2255! Most of these castings won't work as well with UV resin as the light can't permeate multiple layers of this Dichro-ISH Film, and even though our molds are clear, there will most likely be some around the edges that won't set up completely. That said, you could certainly give it a try. If you have a light that can cure the edges of the molds as well as the top and bottom it might just work!
Please let me know how yours turn out :)

When you work with resin, you work backwards
