This Guy Added Salt and Crystals to Resin - Can You Guess What Happened?
Warning: Important Health and Safety Notice:
Resin is an industrial chemical and as such should always be treated with respect and the manufacturers safety advice taken. Here is a video I have made on how I keep myself safe: • Stop Making Yourself I... - Jak na to + styl
You really made me chuckle today when you said, 'of course make a mess.' Making a mess is something I seem to do with every thing I create, it's obligatory I swear, lol. Love those beads in those dishes, they really gave them a very different and interesting look. Have a great weekend Steve.
That tickled me too 😂
One of the first things you learn in art school is to embrace the mess. Halfway thru my first semester, I'd be heading out of drawing to my design class with charcoal on my face.
It reminds me of the quote from the book “Even Cowgirls Get the Blues”: If it’s messy, eat it over the sink.
Flicky wicky
Ooh, a new one! I still chuckle every time he says tappy-wappy. 😂
Lil Dicky (the artist i mean)
You just came up in my algorithm, I don’t know why, I’m a crocheter but thought I’d watch any way. I’m impressed! Beautiful little soap dishes, I especially love the shell shapes, reminds me of the 1930’s art nouveau!❤
I’m so sorry to hear of your divorce but I am so happy that you are still crafting!! I sure love your creativity!!
😢
Steve, so pretty. The shells look like lace or sheer fabric. Thanks for showing us the technique.
Welcome to Flicki Wiki, the encyclopedia of resin bubble removal that you can edit!
"A bit of flicky clicky" 😅😅😅 L❤ve the little hand soap dish!!
Those little resin hands would make great spoon rests.
These are absolutely gorgeous! Great job! Brilliant on the Crystal's and Epsom salts! Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful work!❤
That is a really cool effect. Love it.
Love your voice and that personality! Can't wait to go through the rest of your content!
Oh Steve you naughty boy give it a flicky... lol. I absolutely Love the seashell dishes! They almost have a lace pattern to them don't they. Or at least from the camera they do. Absolutely 💯 love those ❤
I won't say it. ... but it's my older brother's name! And, you should make sun catchers with that mix. Make the decorative parts to a wind chime set, then add metal chimes. The shells are so pretty when you held them up!
Neat. My mum loves seashells and soap trays, I'll have to make one for her.
Very pretty, love the crystals! Flicky Quicky! Lol
I was thinking *Flicky wicky* They all came out gorgeous LOVEd the look !!!
That was really interesting. I've never done anything like this, but you made it look easy! Thank you sir for sharing this!
Thanks Steve!!
Flickey Mickey. Absolutely love these!!
If you are making a lot of this stuff, it's worth investing in a small vacuum chamber. You can put the mixing bowls in before you pour that will remove 90% of the bubbles, and then go again once it's in the moulds. It only takes a few minutes and it makes a big difference.
Thanks!
After watching your video with the epsom salts and sand I made a soap dish with Epsom salts. I was thrill d with the results. Thank you 😊
You are no doubt my favorite resin artist!
I purchased the moulds, crystals & Epsom salts. I found some gemmy things too at Family Dollar. I would send pics but there doesn't seem to be a way to do that. It appears to have separated. Kewl look but why....
You are so delightfully flicked wicked.😂
Beautiful. Thanks. ❤❤❤
What a great video. I LOVE those molds and the end results, they're gorgeous. I love your sense of humour too. Have a great Sunday, take care xx❤❤😊😊
Bravo!
These soap dishes are beautiful!
Where the crystlals shown through, it gave the resin a lacey-looking texture.
I know these are meant to be dishes, but you could easily adapt the mixture with the crystals, add a small hole to the hardened resin, and create some lovely sun-catchers ☺
Really great effect.😊
Half TBE time the use up resin pieces are my favorite
It was "tricky flickie" you were looking for, Steve. Thanks again for another great tutorial. Really enjoy your content.
Flicky Tricky, little bubbles? 😊 Great ideas as always, thank you.
I added chunky Himalayan seat salt into 3d mold because I thought it resembled rose quartz. Months later at an outdoor event, someone pointed out a small 3d bear with whitish powder on it t that resembled salt. Sure enough. Salt was coming out of that bear all over. I wiped him off and the next day there was more. I've never tried epsom salt.
Those are really cool! I love those shells! Very unique.
Beautiful.
They're beautiful ❤
If you get a mold to make your own “gems” and make them from the color you are working with, or, accent/contrast colors, you can not only have “empty” spots, but have ones that match the theme, or even new accents like gems in a host stone
Great projects Steve. ❤
Flicky tricky!
Those came out Beautiful ❤❤❤❤
😂😂😂😂😂😂i love how you do youre things and they all very beautiful 😘😘
BEAUTIFUL🤗
Love these 🥰
Really cool effects
that pattern created from salt and gems, it really reminds me of lace for some reason ^^ nice effect
oy oy naughty naughty Steve! hahaha what a great upload! Your wonderful humour as well as a really gorgeous project, perfect combo! I think the shells worked better because they were thinner casts, they reminded me of frost! Absolutely perfect aesthetic for bathroom/hygiene products, really great thinking there, love to see you do more of this, mixing other colours and in other thinner moulds that you have 💜
AMAZING to see your kit is in stock! Only 9 left at the time of posting, it is SUCH a good kit, I am not surprised that it keeps selling out! It's my birthday next week, so I'm really looking forward to treating myself to a few new materials to try out, inspired by your awesome content!
Thanks Steve, take care! 💜🌈✨
I think I had only watched about 2 minutes of this video before I knew that I would become your new sub💓
Oh boy Steve....don't you go getting in trouble with those cute little catch phrases like Flicky Dicky 😂😂😂 You always make me laugh😂😂😂
Those little soap dishes are cute, love the hands too!!
Hey Steve,
Try using alcohol inks to dye your crystals ahead of time, let them dry, and then put them in resin. Just a thought. I'd love the pink hand to put my rings on when I'm too swollen to wear them. It's so cute❣️
Even tho someone already said it flicky, wicky is good.
I know EXACTLY what you were thinking with flicky whatsit!!😊
Hi it would rhyme with icky or sticky or sickly enjoy you casts a lot. Thank you. Chris
Family gets charged double!! 😂😂
You could keep with the theme and say Flicky Wicky. But I think you were gonna say Flicky Dicky lmao
We like messy Steve! Makes us not feel like the Lone Ranger! 😁 It's a requirement, apparently, for many of us to make messes. LOTS of them, especially with my clothes. *sigh*
"Flicky Wicky! 😂😆😅
LOVE, LOVE all these soap dishes, Steve! 😊💕😍
You should build a vacuum chamber to fill molds like that.
I like the scallop shell ones with more dots on them
Flicky hickey! These turned out cool 😊
Flicky... LOL!
Flicky Nicky. 😉😉
Happy wrappy lol
the pinkish one looks like fish eggs.😂👍🇺🇸
lol... flicky licky!
A tutor told me years ago...if you don't make a mess you aren't an artist......you can clean a mess up.
flicky wicky
Flicky wicky😊
5:26 flicky mickey! 😁
Love watch your video
Try flicky wicky. LOL. 😆
question: what happens when you hit one of these with water? you'll probably get voids from the salt that touches the surface washing out.
Flicky Sticky
Flicky ticky
flicky wicky!
Tricky Flicky
❤❤❤❤❤
❤
The bowls are never available. Been clicking on the link below for months now and it just keeps saying temporarily unavailable. Any idea when it will be available for uk viewrs.
Did you knew if you spray your molds with Alcohol before you put your Risen in it will help with Bubbles.
😂😂 sticky flicky? 😂
Cute cute 🥰
Ticky bickie❤
not that it rhymes but the saying goes flick the bean! lol
If someone wants to try resin crafts, what do you recommend to a complete beginner?
Does anyone make a decent kit, or do You have a site where you can get credit for any sales?
Andrea -a Granny in Pennsylvania
Steve, are the crystals glass or plastic? Thx! Have you tried to color gems?
I wonder if you were able to put that resin in like a syringe and squirt it in there would that be better?
Flicky Ticky
Icky or tricky ❤❤❤
WICKY! Minds out of the gutter people!
Flickie Nickie😆
Hi, I used salt in resin a few years ago and don't recommend it. It's beautiful but after some time in a humid environment (sth about one year in the garage) salt crystals grow and destroy my resin art. Btw the plastic crystals for resin are really cool :3
I did some epsom salt resin ages ago when I first saw it on your channel, and unfortunately it looks terrible now because the crystals look like they've shrunk and dried out into little white bits. Sad times. :(
tricky flicky
Flicky Micky lol
Squidgy widgy 😝
Where do you sell Steve? A market stall or on line?
😂😂❤
Flicky Wicky, Flicky Snicky, Flicky Hickey and Flicky Micky
Sticky Flicky! LOL Picky Flicky, Tricky Flicky (just don't put the 'flicky' first!)
