City of Ryde Green Waste - SL024

- For this week's video we see Ryde Waste Collection truck, SL024 collecting green waste in the suburb of Gladesville on a cloudy Tuesday at the beginning of 2015. SL024 is seen collecting green waste on its third and last load for the day at around 10am. This truck is known to be the most cleanest and well looked after and cared for truck in the fleet as its pretty much spotless on the outside and even cleaner inside the cab. Even though this truck may not be the fastest truck is still has a arm that is reliable and gets the job done. The driver behind the wheel is Jason, who is known as the on-road supervisor for the Ryde Garbo Crew, a really neat and tidy operator of SL024 and a great mate of mine that I have known over the years.
As you guys may notice from previous pictures from me, that the front face of SL024 has just been recently repaired with a new paint job and no decals or numbers applied to the face of the truck. The reason for the new face on the front of this truck as this truck was involved in a collision involving another vehicle, who cut this truck off meaning the truck had no time or stopping distance to stop safely which meant this trucks front end was written off and the other vehicle was severely damaged due to the vehicle cutting off SL024 approaching a set of lights. Just another day on Sydney's roads with drivers not thinking about how much room a trucks needs to stop safely at a set of lights.

Awesome stuff Alex. Nice skilled driver too. You can tell the face of the truck had been repaired as it was a slightly different tone of green to the rest of the truck.
Thanks Caiden, he is neat and gets the job done quick :) You are right there mate the tone of green is slightly different in the video but in real life it is really noticeable, shows how much the other parts of the truck have faded :P

Great video! Very clean truck and arm goes well, Seems like it scrubbed up well after that accident! Is this thing staying or getting pissed off at the end of the contract?
Cheers Yianni, Not the fastest but she still gets the job done and as far as me and the drivers know SL024 will be kept along with (022, 023, 061) and possibly a few others for there other contracts and the rest will be sold.
