Also, full disclosure, I thought I independently came up with the Lays joke, but then I saw it was commented on a bunch of other aerogel videos, so I'm no longer sure if I just subconsciously remembered it from back in the day when I watched those. - Věda a technologie

Finally a comment about the joke at the start and I had the same reaction lol
If I recall correctly, Aerogel is blue for the same reason the sky is blue, because it scatters light and blue light is the most scattered. So, when you point it at the sky, you’re combining it with the sky itself and thus creating a “thicker layer of sky”, which makes it scatter yellow light too, and that’s the same thing that happens in sunsets!!

Huh who knew I would relate to this so much, my iPhone 5 c got pratically its whole top of the screen shattered when I dropped it on the sidewalk.
Later I dropped my iPhone 7 and the screen hit directly on the corner of the table from the top bunk and still survived with barely a scratch
