Even my 1999 GMC Suburban has that silly clip in the top of the intake manifold. (5.7 Vortec). In my case, however, the hose was the culprit. Local dealer had it overnighted from their Denver warehouse.

Greg, my serpentine belt busted on my 6.7L 5500 cummins Ram 2021. My question is oil still circulates without the belt
Can anyone explain why the billet part that threads into the block has a reduced ID? I just replaced mine with a 1/2" SS nipple, elbow and MNPT X hose barb fitting.
