Better and bigger than the Glasgow's metro :D
Glasgow needs to expand, it's a nice looking underground
@@BJ-zd2or It’s great and tremendously spacious so long as you’re 3ft tall 😂 Nah, they could start expanding with a badly needed line to connect their main two train stations.
Way better and bigger than the genoa metro too
That’s what I’m saying!
@@BJ-zd2or don’t need to. Trains do all the job underground does in Glasgow
i'm waiting for Omsk so that the trilogy of stupid short metros can be complete even though it really only needed Glasgow and Omsk
And Genoa
These metros arent that bad
And Warsaw!
@@berlineczka spoiler ahead: Omsk metro has 1 (one) station, no match in the whole world
Does Wuppertal count
My favourite one so far, I like the complexity of the rail
If you like it complex, you should see the Glasgow one.
@@FloriOnRails Ooooh, I’ve seen all the Metro Liner Videos! This one tops Glasgow by just a little bit in my books though
Wait until you see Helsinki.
I advise you to see the metro of the city of Dnipro))
Fun fact: The subway itself may not be very big, but they're the deepest subway stations in the world. So deep, in fact, that they're certified for use as nuclear bunkers if necessary.
That's quite common among (post-)communist systems built during the cold war. The deep metro lines in Budapest and Prague also double as shelters.
North Korea's Metro is older than South Korea's ones. But... without any further development. (3rd line was built but had a major accident crossing the river, and was postponed forever)
Also it has former BVG's subway stocks (D train). Possible CNR (CRRC Changchun) supported new stocks. Beijing once wanted to build this type of deep tunnel (~100m deep) metro, but is too expensive to build. I dont think DPRK now has the ability to build such deep metro tunnel again.
*Note that this tunnel is EASIER to build as of technology, it dosent need TBM. Until 1990 then Beijing has the technology to build through TAM Square at shallow depth without cut and cover.
No one has replied,
First and this is good.
Seventy nineth
Fun fact: Pyongyang opened its metro system (in 1973) 1 year earlier than Seoul (in 1974)
It’s also good to mention that the last extension of Cholima Line was originally planned to be a separate Line 3, but a major accident that killed unknown numbers of workers during the tunnel construction below the river indefinitely postponed the Line 3, and the completed ones west of the river bank became a part of Line 1.
Also a station permanently closed after the death of Kim Jung Il
Kwangmyong station has been closed since the death of Kim Il Sung
That moment when you realize that Pyongyang has better metro rail than most US cities.
...and yet it is much smaller than those American metro railways.
To be fair, there are only two cities in the US that are bigger than Pyongyang, so it's not super surprising
@@caleb7612 I think you should compare the built-up areas or at least the urban populations stats, not just the "city" numbers. Eugene, OR is larger than Pyongyang and Portland is just slightly less populated..
@@joshi1863 You're right, with "larger" I meant just to compare the size of Eugene\Springfield\Thurston built-up area with that of Pyongyang.. and while we're talking about about a very car-friendly conurbation, I think any European city that size, for instance, would be completely blocked without any type of metro system
@@joshi1863 When I saw and as tourist tried American public transport (in misc regions of country, including subway of NY) I decide that somebody launched some scary experiment over Americans! :D
My advise to anyone who want to visit that country: use car sharing services, because public transport is @#% and can be even dangerous (if you travel by random directions and don’t know where exactly you will exit; yep, of course I was robbed, in NY: jewelry, money, expensive camera and they even wanted my clothes, went away because I start to cry).
Short and sweet. If you ever do Lisbon, I will be ecstatic.
But Lisbon had much more expansions through time...
I want Shanghai or Moscow next.
@@diogorodrigues747 Yes, that video will not be as short as Pyongyang, but it will be sweeter.
I'm waiting for Moscow
I also need it
if you look closely you could see a couple of lines
Do :
1) Hong Kong MTR
2) Singapore MRT & LRT
3) Kuala Lumpur & Klang Valley Integrated Transit System
4) Shanghai Metro
5) Shenzhen MTR
6) Guangzhou Subway
7) Moscow Metro
8) Osaka Subway
9) Washington Subway
10) Chicago L
11) Metro de Madrid
St. Petersburg metro?
Osaka Subway has been renamed to Osaka Metro as of 2019 btw.
12) Seoul Metro
@@anatolykim4269 Its coming on that channel
I am surprised this wasn't as much of a joke as I was expecting.
Why would this be a joke? Pyongyang has decent subway
@@terryliu9015 The subway is extremely short in comparison to others. Oh and also, there was an april fool's joke about Glasgow's subway.
why would it be a joke? Pyonyang has a complementary tramway on surface. You can compare with Warszawa that also has only 2 lines of metro but complementary tramway lines. I really don't get why something about North Korea should be a joke...
North Korea maybe a joke itself but this one is, at worst, plain
@@patrickovsiu why would North Korea be a joke?
The ending of the music was on point!😂😂
You should do the Seoul Metro for the next video, just for the comparison and juxtaposition
It is already done, and is going to release very soon
But i want Moscow🥺
Coming tomorrow!
@@MetroLiner But when Moscow?🥺🥺🥺
@@user-df9iy1sn9v there is actually a video on moscow already on a channel that was called "metro cucumber" or something
Wow such simplicity
Would like to see a video on the Sofia metro! Most of it was built only in the last 10 years.
I've been on parts of the Sofia metro when I was travelling to Burgas to visit some friends, and I will definitely +1 this suggestion.
I wouldn’t be surprised when Pyongyang has better public transport than most American Cities
In Best Korea, mass transports are so effective that they just need as much as two lines to efficiently take people to their destination.
At least they have a metro system. In Bogotá, the corruption was so hard that the politicians promised the metro since 1960s. Until this year, the metro system started to be built
Moreover, it is very beatiful metro. Just search photos, it incredible.
I wished they could expand the Pyongyang metro to make the travel a lot more affordable and comfortable
They could....
1. Extend the Chollima line (from the north) i.e pulgunbyol till sopo and then turning east till Pyongsong town
Therefore the Chollima (Red) line will ultimately have 18 stations (8 existing + 10 planned)
2. Extend the Hyoksin (Green) line from the west (i.e Kwangbok) and go south till Mangyongdae and finally connect Puhung station (i.e Chollima Line) in a west semicircular fashion.
Therefore the Hyoksin line would have 16 stations (8 existing and 8 planned)
3. Create a new line (Blue or yellow) and this line should start from Tesong station in the south and go east till Munsu water park and then turning left towards West Pyongyang Station (passing Rungnado stadium)
It will connect Kaeson station and Hyoksin station.
This new line would benefit the people living across the taedong river and will boost the increase in ridership due to the water park and Rungnado stadium stations.
Therefore this line would have 14 stations + 2 Interchange stations
I remember one german reporter being in the Pyongyang Metro and finding a picture he scribed in the train back when it was running in Berlin.
No way 😨
Small subway system with just 2 lines, yet more efficient then most US subway systems.
This is the shortest video I've seen, now I'm scared to imagine the Ekaterinburg Metro
Comparing the lengths of this video and Seoul Subway system's is just hilarious
Fun fact : after 21th century, they don’t extend the line😂
Reminds me of Chicago's CTA! Except there were no line closures in Pyongyang...
Woah wasn't expecting this at all
Make the evolution of the Mexico City metro 🇲🇽 and the evolution of the Madrid metro 🇪🇸. Greetings from Mexico 🇲🇽.
Hong Kong next?
The Tuen Ma Line Opened The rest of the finished bit on the 27th
Still more than Glasgow lol
34年間一度も延伸されない地下鉄も中々
it ain't much but it's -honest- work
did you notice that the logos of the metro company is added to the thumbnail
他のチャンネルよりも説明が分かりやすいですね
I advise you to make such short videos, like Pyongyang or Glasgow, so that your channel is not empty, and release them at least once a week.
Can you please make Subway in Hamburg Munich and Nürnberg
Pyongyang metro have a 3rd line, underneath the river. That line never oppend due to flodding.
You should do Warsaw. That also won't be long
Warsaw, Marseille and Pyongyang share 2 things: almost the same amount of inhabitants and only 2 metro lines. But when it's about Pyongyang it's funny for westerners...
Santiago, Chile next please :D
Next please do Prague Underground or Pražské metro. It will be very easy for you I think
You should do the Milan Metro sistem. It's kinda cool and articolated.
Pyongyang Metro
Chollima Line (1973)
Hyoksin Line (1975)
Madrid metro?
Cool video
Where's the 'secret' third line?
It is abandoned :(
Vienna and Budapest would also be interesting in my opinion.
Please make one video of Caracas subway. Thank you! awesome channel
A bit small but nice vid as usual
Nice video! Maybe you could do Seoul next? :)
it would be amazing if you could do Valencia!
Another nice video👍
Comments: Better than Glasgow
Me as a Filipino: You guys have metros or subways?
Manila owns 2 lrt and 1 mrt lines tho
@@disappointingmarbleraces9028 I'm from Rizal.
the video just started:Wow they had the first metro line in 1973, pretty good!
End: Tf??? So the start is also the end??
Imagine what Pyongyang would turn into once annexed by SK and turned into the biggest economic experiment in history as a completely undeveloped and extremely poor region instantly gets access to unlimited capital, intense government will to develop the region and 1st world country governance. Pyongyang would grow into the 3rd or 4th biggest city in Korea in a decade with like 50x GDP growth.
Still longer than Bogotá Metro...
still longer than Omsk...
Do stuttgart germany next
Do Minneapolis/St. Paul, we have A TON of trains (2)
생각보다 짧네요
Make Buenos Aires please!
Please do the Chicago L-train
Hey you should do a Singapore one
Waiting video about Omsk Metropolitan. :D
Very nice
Do: Prague Metro
Next one milan pls
Can you do the Mexico City subway?
This was intense, I almost coomed when the Green line grew longer
Next santiago????
Please do the Hong Kong one
The oldest part of any Chinese metro system that isn't Beijing or Tianjin is newer than the latest extension of the Pyongyang Metro, yet China's metro systems are gigantic.
I'd like to see the Munich subway system traced
It's weird how they don't extend metro for 32 years, even stations at right side of river not opened
It's bigger than the one Dublin has...
Pyongyang 34 - 0 Dublin (km)
LOL I read that part of it was or is not used by the public. They rebuilt their old U-Bahn cars to look like Toronto red rockets.
Однако... Но до Глазго им ещё очень далековато будет...
До Днепровского Метро ещё далеко
Нужна линия на Южный берег
迫力のあるBGM
You should do Hong Kong, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Oslo, Stockholm, Chicago, Manchester, Birmingham, Dublin, Belfast, Washington DC, Melbourne, Canberra, Sydney, Edinburgh, Copenhagen, New Delhi, Rio-De-Janeiro and other major cities that have metro systems.
Please can u do video about metro from Hong kong
Nice city...
And I thought Los Angeles had a small system. :/
After seoul next video would be metro of madrid please
It's so short? Hey at least they have metro
It ended before it could start
Please do Chicago
Yeah!
How do you find info about this?
Well that was quick
Can you make Hamburg please?
Can you do the SF Bay Area?
Video is 1:07m long and done by 0:45
Vienna please.
Please do Frankfurt, Germany
Here before the Dear Leader shows up.
Can't have underground metros where dissidents can hide and organize...
Where's the 1994 closed staion?
Same level as my cities skyline
Please do Prague
Please! Make about the Metro of Madrid!!!
Actually it was China helped Pyongyang building the metro, but u can rarely see any official record about it in North Korea
