I love Kilkenny been there once going there again next month
I lived there for a year. During that time ( and in other holidays ) I explored the entirety of the Republic of Ireland. There can`t be so much as a village in the entire country that I have not been to, or been within 20 miles of.
I was a Novice / Seminarian at St. Kieran`s College, Kilkenny. Two of the Professors there were both brothers ( by birth ) and Priests and a third sibling, as far as I remember, owned a couple of pubs in the City. Also, if my memory serves me well enough, ( and since the Landlord was the brother of two Priests ) the first pub he purchased was nicknamed "The Vatican," and the second was nicknamed "Vatican II." All Catholics will know what I`m talking about.
I've lived here all my life and its only the last few years I've appreciated what a beautiful city we have.

My grandmother's family were from Kilkenny, but I have very little history from Ireland. Her name was Meagher and her mother's maiden name was Power. That's what I know in a nutshell.
Making me homesick, I left in 1988 and have sadly only been back a few times since. 😭😭
I loved Kilkenny but only had about 4 hours there. I would love to go back and spend at least a couple of days

Great overview, could be a bit more detailed when it comes to the different spots. Otherwise it becomes slightly more advertising than information. Alnyway, great collection of spots that are brought forward.

Very safe and fun, unfortunatly you will see less and less Irish people around these days.
