    3:50 That is a breach of human rights. I would personally use the toilet (if I needed it) anyway and told the signaller that I'm not moving the train until I'm finished.

    4:30 Big mistake on the part of all three people involved. The platform staff, conductor and driver should ALL have noticed the danger signal and stopped the dispatch process immediately.

    14:30 Max should have breaked his train BEFORE worrying about the sun-visor.

    That signal involved in that first SPAD is ridiculous by modern standards. Why would they still have semaphores especially at an apparently busy station?! Also a lot of it would be on the guard for giving the rightaway without a proceed aspect.

      Because the UK has a horrifically poor railway.

  • @busestrainsofthewestmids2519

    Technically when the driver for central passed the signal at danger the emergency brakes should have been applied automatically unless train stop overuse was enabled, however there should be no reason for it to be on

      Not all signals are equipt with TPWS (only signals which supposedly have a higher risk of spads have the equipment fitted)

    Why was there no banner repeater on the man in the pacer on the second spad?

      I really don't know. It would have been very useful.

    • @firestarteronyoutube5542

      probably because of the speed limit on that line. I *think* it was around 50mph or so.
      That said a repeater would've been good

    [1] well truely yes but its essentially caused dueto mostly lack of staff , staff running more services back to back than having or being able to have a break and continue with a slot later or thesimolour

    I love watching these videos but I wish the people that make them would either stop using abbreviations or at least state what they mean what is a SPAD and a DRA

    • @SandwichedTom
      @SandwichedTom Před 9 lety +3

      These videos are designed for drivers who know what they mean, and the videos are old, but a SPAD means 'signal passed at danger' (passing a red light) and a DRA is the 'driver reminder appliance' which stops the driver moving the train when it's on, so drivers set it at a red signal.

    • @WDH59510
      @WDH59510 Před 8 lety +3

      +Paul Watkins SPAD = Signal passed at danger, DRA = Drivers' Reminder Appliance. You probably know these but now everyone knows.
