I know you recommended the neck gator, but another thing that works are the large bandanas. They're cotton or silk, and really help for cooling down. Thanks for the tarp idea; I have an Xterra, and have been wondering how to work a cover for shade; the car tents are more trouble than I want to go to. The tarp will be perfect, so thanks for that!

Most rear windows don't roll down flush with the rear door frames due to the cutout for the wheels. I can understand why the door nets aren't longer. The magnets can't hurt though, and I used them in the past to attach tarps to the top of my '01 Xterra.
