Plot Summary
The Outer Worlds is an art deco style single-player RPG from Obsidian and Private Division. It is set in the Halcyon solar system that is under the dominion of megacorporation’s. Colonists volunteered to a cryosleep aboard two Halcyon-bound spacecrafts. The first ship completed the trip successfully, whilst the second ship ‘The Hope’ is lost in transit for approximately 70 Years. ‘The Hope’ is discovered by Phineas Welles who revives a passenger, the player, who he promptly jettisons to Emerald Vale. This is where your journey to save the other colonists in cryosleep begins. You spend the game visiting a handful of content rich planets talking, shooting and negotiating your way through most situations.

I got maybe an hour in and had to put it down. Couldn't get into the story or quests, and the combat and menus didn't feel at all good to me.
Honestly, I had trouble getting into this one, even though I love Fallout and the Assassin’s Creed RPG games. Especially when there’s a whole solar system, but the next main line quest after leaving the starter planet is returning to the starter planet, to a town that looks kinda similar to Edgewater anyway, with a company that doesn’t feel any different than Spacer’s Choice.
I didn't make it off the first planet. I laughed a few times at the company slogans but the writing and characters weren't all that interesting to me. I ended up browsing a few reviews and from what I read/watched the first planet was the best planet as far as writing goes, so I uninstalled the game.
Now to watch your video and see if we're on the same page!
Yeah we mention in the video that the characters/companions are kinda boring haha it's a shame the game didn't grab you but it's not going to be to everyone's tastes 🙂 - Heather

I don’t think I’ve even play the dlcs or unlocked that one gas planet which people said was easy to get by following a certain path of dialogue and I finished it once since theres no post game, kind of making the journey less fulfilling
Murder on Eridanos is accessible once you reach Stellar Bay. ADA will show you a cut scene. Peril on Gorgon becomes available when you complete the quest Radio Free Monarch 🙂 - Heather

Well done video...but I gotta ask...HOW THE HELL DO YOU PRONOUNCE A CHARACTER'S NAME WRONG REPEATEDLY WHEN THEY PRONOUNCE IT FOR YOU IN GAME A BILLION TIMES!?
Hi this is my fault. I watched a season of Survivor years ago and one of the contestants was called Parvati and it was said the way we say it in the video and we just got stuck on it. Also I hate the way they say it in The Outer Worlds and Heather just went along with me. 🙂

Its a fun game reguardless
It was mediocre. Small local maps, not much point in exploration cause there's not much to find, average writing... I've played worse, but I'm not going to replay it
Great vid and instasubbed! I really want to like this game. I am a huge fan of obsidian games and consider Fallout New Vegas to be one of my favorite games of all time. But the writing in The Outer Worlds was just so lackluster. I could tell that they didn't have their "A team" working on this one. It was just very bland and all the characters lacked any interesting backstories/motivations. And the fact that the devs injected their woke identity politics into the game didn't help.
Jeeze you must have missed the political stances in new vegas. Was Caesers legion too subtle?
Glad you liked the video! Thank you for the sub. We've quickly noticed that The Outer Worlds seems to be a bit divisive amongst Obsidian/Bethesda fans based on the comments! We can understand that it isn't for everyone but we enjoyed the game a lot.

I starfield is such a snooze fest this game is way better
Honestly, I liked Starfield more. After the main quest line sent me back to the same planet I just left was just annoying to me.
