Scale was giving error and actual lb of 12V battery is about 7-8lb not 9lb, vs Tesla Lead Acid at 29lb.

Can't we use a Noco or CTEK battery charger to top up /maintain the 12v lead acid battery?

the original battery is dated April 2021. Surely it had life left, though I understand the desire for a lithium 12 volt battery.
Good eye, it’s still good but we wanted to make sure we don’t get stranded on our cross country road trips over next 12 months. Highly recommend for those that have 12v that die or about to die! Upgrade if you can sooner than later is recommended for the benefits. 12v lead acid battery is on back order now too.
Sounds like you have that constant humming in your car too. I would've thought it stopped when disconnecting the battery, but I guess it has to do with the BIG battery pack. Funny, but I don't think I had that humming when it was brand new for the first couple of weeks, but maybe I just didn't notice it.

I have decades of negative experience with 12 V lead acid car batteries. There is written 80 Ah on the battery, but it can happen, that after discharging 4 Ah for powering the laptop, the car can not start anymore.
For 2020 Model Y, can you use the lithium battery without issues?

Recent updates have starting to throw error on my ohmmu. Very expensive experiment since I got them in both model 3’s. Smh 🤦🏻♂️ have had to swap lead acid back

@@megawatts yeah still working in the M3P but not the M3LR. I’ve swapped the lead acid back in and the error has gone. Apparently unplugging they grey power connector in the backseat resets it. I might charge the ohmmu up and swap it back in to try again to see how long it lasts

Yes lithium batteries have issues in freezing conditions unless you have a warming pack for this replacement you will have issues.

Tesla stop providing warranty on the lead acid battery that comes with car, you have to pay out of pocket for it.
@@megawatts I’m surprised that Tesla does not give you a prorated battery warranty like everyone else. Maybe they were losing too much money because they are horror stories out of Phoenix with the lead acid batteries needing replacement every year!

Sorry, did I miss it- how much $ did you save from not having Tesla replace it?
Tesla charges ~$350 to change for another lead acid battery that only last ~2 years and can die suddenly or with a few hours warning to change. We swap out for lithium which cost ~$400 that last up to 10 years.
Tesla charged $123 to come out and replace the low voltage 12V battery in our 2018 Model 3. You can buy it from Tesla for $85 with 3 year warranty. No exchange needed.
