  • Welcome to my college decision reaction video! I applied to quite a few schools: 20 undergraduate institutions and 7 medical schools (through BS/MD programs), bringing my total to 27 schools! Sit back, relax, and enjoy my (very, very cringe) reactions!

Feel free to reach out if you have any questions. I know it can be difficult to decide between one school and another with an MD bridge program. I did Stanford premed. It is a tough curriculum but it prepares you well for the MCAT. Also, Stanford applicant admit rates to medical school over the years have been around 75%, above the national average. That may be less reassuring than a guaranteed MD spot elsewhere but something to consider. Stay open too, as most premeds entering college end up on a different career path during their undergraduate career. Anyway, sorry for the unsolicited advice but I’m available if you want to chat more about it.

Hi, thank you so much for reaching out, and the advice is definitely not unsolicited! I'm in the exact dilemma you mentioned: choosing between Stanford and a BS/MD Program. Considering how Stanford has grade inflation which will boost my GPA, I think that if I keep going premed, Stanford is a good choice, but if I changed my mind, Stanford's other programs are also very strong. Did you end up going to med school after Stanford?

@@academicgamestipstricksand6592 Hello there yes I did end up going to medical school. I went to Loyola Chicago. I actually graduated last may and I’m doing a psychiatry residency right now. I would say that just about all of my peers who are premed and were focused and committed had no issues getting into medical school the first time. I wasn’t the best applicant but still got some good interviews and multiple acceptances. The Stanford prestige and the resources that comes with being a premed there are definitely significant. You make the right choice for you. Just a lot of my peers and I had an amazing time at Stanford and continue to miss it regularly. I think out of 800 Stanford freshman my year who were premed went down to about 200 who actually applied by the end. That’s why I say keep an open mind since you may end up changing your mind after getting a better idea of what the medical system is really like.

Haven't watched yet, but I'm sure you have killer grades if you are applying to Bsmd programs. Got into Stanford and 2 BSMD programs impressive 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 I'm surprised you didn't apply for Brown PLME?

@@academicgamestipstricksand6592 Congratulations again, my nephew got into Yale, John Hopkins, Cornell, and University of Michigan, but he didn't bother apply to Brown PLME because the odds were too high. However I saw a girl on here apply to many BSMD programs like you. She got many rejections but did get into Brown PLME. However turned it down for Arizona BSMD because she had a scholarship that covered most of her in-state tuition in Arizona, saving her $500,000 in tuition over Brown PLME. So I believe you end up where you belong.
