When I try to activate my Xbox when I sign in with my Microsoft account it takes me to workspaces and and quick starts I don’t see developer programs or windows and Xbox

Amazing video. The only thing that my xbox isn't allowing me to do is change it from App to Game. As soon as I press up after opening the dropdown box it closes out and then just shows that it's stayed on App and when I hit A to confirm it signs me out. Essentially it goes behind the screen to the background base page and doesn't actually change when I open up the option to change it. I've looked everywhere online and no one seems to have the same issue. I've plugged in a keyboard but it's the same issue.
I used this set-up for the various directory locations and I now need to delete an individual game config file (stored in a folder Q:\\UserMgr1\AppData...etc) how would I go about doing that?
I managed to get games running on my XSS, but my RetroAchievements stopped working. It says I'm "not logged in" even though my login info has been entered correctly.
I'm thinking there might be something wrong with my retroarch.cfg file, and it may be overridden by something else, but I don't know what or how to fix it.
Any ideas!?

owkey so the only place i can find any files is the Q directory for some reason eventhough i made the development files to be the Z drive like you said. i think my software is updated so i don't understand why it doesn't appear.
The link you put here (Download and install safe exit ) is totally different from what you show in the video it downloads an executable and not raisins like you show, why?
I just installed today and noticed at 19:11 in video where your install files are on S: mine were put on D: for some reason.
Thank you for being very clear in this video. I have the exact same issues on my Xbox series s. I got the same thing, file explorer wont work, and i got the invisible folder problem. Im so glad someone made a video on this. Unfortunately, im taking a break from Xbox dev mode. But you're right, the new file name is Platinum for retroarch Could i ask, did you get Wii games to run? And how are we suppose to put a wii game on internal using network? It takes really long

I have not not tested wii games specifically yet on this version, but I will bring a video out on it soon. For slow transfers, I would suggest making sure both your xbox and computer are connected via ethernet cable to your local network, this will give you much faster speed than wireless
@@Scoby This is good advice, to have it hooked up with a wire. But not everyone has two free ports on the router. But i guess i could adjust. Its just crazy how previously my wii games were working. But then now it says cannot read file when i try to open a game. It requires a lot of patience though. Im glad you got Ps2 gsmes working. Your the only one with updated vids, i like it

Big Issue here , my xbox can find the launchpass inside with pictures and games but RetroArch wont find my ExFAT drive any solution

weird. I go to re map the file directories and my system was under the D: drive. then just development files, windows apps, retro, then the folders i made. Did I do this wrong?
I've been following a few guides since I got my Series S today, and was wondering if the error "failed to open libretro cores" is a known thing. I have cores for GBA and dolphin currently and both give this error message when trying to open a from for their games (with the core selected).

How do I change directory to S . My xbox defaults to drive D. Apparently that breaks PS2 emulation.

When i paste the link from dev portal in the this p.c adress bar. I get an error saying "saying windows cannot acess *insert xbox adress here*\DevelopmentFiles
Theres a diognose button and the error it finds is "you don't have permission to access the share"
The p.c is my own. Nobody else uses it so im definitely the admin so i don't really know whats wrong

How do you upload roms when using a mac? I've seen people say you need to map a network drive, but I'm not sure how to do that on Mac.
Try opening the finder on your Mac, and selecting the “Go” menu at the top of the screen. Then go to connect to server at the bottom of the menu and entering the path that comes up when you go to files explorer and hit the browse button. Then enter the username and password when you are prompted and you’ll be go to go.

U start by getting and ftp app for your Xbox Durango ftp is what i use ounce u find one open it and run it, it will show you an ip address u will type tht ip adress in on your computer in the file section like so ftp//000 000etc n it will connect

I have not tested this on my MacBook yet actually, I'll try look into it soon.
I would say, make sure you're on the same network as your Xbox, and your Xbox is currently sitting in Dev mode, as two things you can already check

i downloaded my roms onto a flash drive and they aren’t showing on my Xbox. i added them to a new flash drive that was formatted to NTFS and it’s still not working. I have the latest version of retroarch, anyone have any ideas what’s up?

Yes should still be working, never tried sharing saves, not sure if the files are the same between dolphin and the core itself. You could try moving them across though, just set them in the saves folder on your xbox, or put them on an external drive and remap the folder settings in retroarch

No extra stuff is installed, but switching can take a few minutes

What console/game are you trying to load, do you have everything setup correctly for that core?
I have videos showing how to setup most console's on my channel, double check those to make sure you have everything setup first :)

@@Scoby This is my issue too! I did this tutorial couple months ago. It was working perfectly back then. Until now (August 2022). Is it because I updated the console to the latest update ? I also noticed it’s now on D drive instead of S drive. Before it was on S drive.

File explorer thing no longer works, or did not at the time of recording this
If someone has an issue with external drives and can't see files on Retroarch except on D: Drive, make sure your Dev mode main screen doesn't show up October 2021 on the top. If so, update your system and it should work fine.
Edit: Microsoft released a firmware update yesterday and they probably fixed the issue with it.

@@Showman360 I'm not experienced with Xbox Consoles at all and only purchased my Xbox series S (my first xbox console ever) early November. It seems like it was a recent issue with one of the recent updates where I and many others couldn't access to external USB drive. When I tried to update my console to find a way to solve the issue, they released a firmware update on the same day and this is how I solved my issue.
@@maxbreaker888 Mine says November and still everything shows up on the D drive. Retroarch even shows some directories on the S and Q drives but I cannot navigate there. I just bought a Series S last night, updated it out the box, and did everything word for word. For everyone seeing this I don't think theres a fix yet, its too early and no one is talking about it yet. I've been searching for hours for an answers.

Sadly not anymore, before we could use my files explorer to backup files to an external drive, but now we cannot. You can map a network drive as I show here, but, I beleive that will not transfer old files and saves so you will be starting from scrath :/

@@Scoby Hey, so they changed selecting a specific directory. Now it only give me an option of a Q folder and an “Open…” option which opens an Xbox select folder menu. Got through most of the video but I cannot access my ssd on the series X- when I go to the appropriate drive I cannot access the files I made on my compute it just says parent directory, use directory and has no items. Had the same issue watching Acrhades videos and thought I may have done something wrong but have followed both videos now step by step.

I'm having a similar problem all my directories are empty. when I go to laptop an just the folder and names show but nothing inside any of the folders. It says destination doesn't exist or has been deleted and this happened every time I reinstall

@@Scoby nope mines it's actually in a the d drive, but I'm also using a chrome book PC to set it up I'm not sure if that's the issue either
@@lildog077 I don't think the Chromebook is the issue, I've seen more and more people running into this issue.
There seems to be no "real" solution to fix this, some people say fully reinstalling dev mode can help adjust it, but when you have everthing on D drive it seems to just cause more issues
Some users say after a full reboot it/restart of the system can help populate the correct drive

Not for nothing this video is extremely rushed. It is very detailed but there are some parts that arent explained at all. At 18:52 my S: has nothing in it at all. none of them do. can you help

Speed in videos is tricky, some like it other don't. But there are the type of videos I like when finding tutorials, I try to share enough details but not over bloat things, it's hard to find a good mixture for some complex topics.
In regards to the S: drive, I've left some comments but there seems to be no clear way to know why some have it and others not, cannot find any clear details about this online either. Have you tried using the other drives I believe the D drive can work, or do you have an access to an external drive you can map with retroarch?
@@Scoby yeah "not for nothing" is like slang for when you have a strong opinion on something. Like "hey James, not for nothing but that shirt looks better on your brother".
Anyways yeah none of my other drives have any content and the only one that does is the D drive and that doesn't have what you were mentioning. Idk I'm hoping for some fix or anything at this point
I'm not very good at any of this stuff, and I followed the video up until you have to make the network, I made the folders "system" "Saves" etc, but as soon as I go back to Retroarch it just says "No items" Not entirely sure what's wrong. I've watched through the video a bunch and I followed everything exactly.

Looks like they changed the website at Microsoft, I can’t just scroll down and find the developer program for Xbox … I see insights, partner center etc …
I thought it was just me! I've been researching for over an hour on how to stop redirecting and I just can't figure it out. Are you still even able to do this now?
@@kajuanlockett8980 …. I think Microsoft put an end to it, I read an article that says they stopped it .. Sadly :( I imagine legal issues were brought up and they probably had no choice ..

@@funkyflights Yes it took me a few tries of copy and pasting the URL link and then scrolling down and trying to click the Xbox link fast enough but I eventually got it and was able to setup from there as normal. I just did this last night successfully.
