  • @michaelsandy2869

    I use my low rank rejuv on the low priority targets. DPS that took a spike damage and likely won't take major damage again immediately, pets, warlocks who are tapping for mana. I typically do a healing touch on one target and switch to another immediately for rejuv. I have found that in ZG, it is a lot more effective, because I am much more likely to be the only druid healer in ZG, and thus not have to worry about my HoTs being overwritten, which is more of a concern to me than heal sniping. If you have a Heal Comm addon, heal sniping is trying to waste mana. It helps your numbers, but it doesn't help the encounter. What helps the encounter is if you can manage your mana as a team effectively. If I can boost my output while another healer is trying to stop casting to get the most of an innervate, or vice versa, I help the team more.

    After I watched this video I went back and changed the way I play my druid, at first I was kinda salty that another druid got to be the tank healer. Last night I parsed rank 1 on the server for BWL I couldn't believe it.
    I'm sure it was this video that helped me achieve it. This "off Meta" healing style is a real sleeper and I've never enjoyed healing in classic more than I am now.
    First time I saw this vid was about a month ago, my parses went from avg 44-46 to 92. With many 95-98s no 99 yet.

    If rank 3 rej is your main source of healing, wouldn't the Improved Rejuvanation talent be in somewhat waste? It only buffs the base heal from the Rej, excluding the healing power from items, which ends up as only 15 heal per cast. Seems minuscule for me. Same with the Nature's Gift talent. 0/30/21 might be better in terms of the flat mana pool, which supports the mass spamming of the low rank Rej. Would love to see a few more variations of this approach! GL

    The reason most healers don't use HoTs is because Fury Prot Warriors are already close enough to buff cap and if they lose World Buffs because a Druid/Priest used a HoT on them it will effect the entire raid by them not being able to produce as much TPS which in turn threat caps your DPS and slow things down.

    • @neceriumcloudes5381
      @neceriumcloudes5381  Před 4 lety

      You should go for the rank 1 that does the most healing but doesn't make you go oom basically :) It might depend on the encounters, but I think r3 or maybe r2 would be good ranks for renew :)

    • @selearth3123
      @selearth3123 Před 4 lety +3

      Rank 3 renew is the lowest you should go. Rank 1 and 2 are both learned before level 20, and therefore have a near 0% benefit from +healing, whereas rank 3 has the full benefit that a max rank renew does. Any spell (and ranks) learned at below level 20 have a greatly diminished coefficient, basically.
      As a Priest you shouldn't have mana issues doing something like this anyway. Rank 3 is only 94 mana (after accounting for talents), so you can throw these out like candy even when mixing in heals/flash heals, and never run oom. Although, keep in mind that this sort of strategy **only** works if your HoTs are NOT overhealing which they often will do.

    • @davidbrankovic874
      @davidbrankovic874 Před 4 lety

      Also this won't work in aq or naxx, since those hots have to be strong and not mana efficient, this is nice ofc but only for MC and maybe bwl, but later on if you use hots like this it gona be worthless to be "top healer" if your raid gona wipe, and this also won't work if you are main tank healer..

You can use the HoT spec (imp regrowth with max points into imp rejuv) 21/0/30 to make this really shine, especially with 5 set t2. You get constant r3 gregrowth crits for 800-900 hp and it has a consistent 1.3 sec cast time.

  • @vgorp3849
    @vgorp3849 Před 4 lety +2

    The problem with hots is that they're what I call "low impact" to the raid healing overall. Consider a scenario where your target takes damage - let's say 80% of their health, and you HoT them. What happens to your mana efficiency and to the raid overall, if they're double-tapped for the last 20% of their health? If you had used healing touch instead, you may have immediately healed them outside of the range of the incoming damage that killed them, but because you used a HoT, they were too vulnerable for too long. I think while the Healing Done charts tell one story, the actual effect of healing over time is that the other healers are picking up the slack and saving more lives, while the HoTs are rolling for "points". You save a lot of mana, but it's because.. you aren't healing anyone. Of course the mana efficiency looks good. You aren't using any!

    • @MrCliverandy
      @MrCliverandy Před 4 lety

      This is the best way to compete in healing vs other healers. But with one risk, once the other healers realize this they will cowardly abandon their post to push your HOT to overheal in the name of "our heal is more efficient" which sometime will resulted in MT's death.

    • @Esge71
      @Esge71 Před 4 lety

      @V Gorp - Exactly this. It's such a lazy way to heal. Focusing on the meters instead of actually helping the raid with healing is what most slackers like this do.

  • @danielandrews3878
    @danielandrews3878 Před 4 lety +2

    Kind of odd how in BWL, after all the calculation, you no longer top meters and don't downrank Rejuv anymore, and got Swiftmend also :)
    At least you get good numbers at Chromaggus (hey, no dispells mean more healing :D )
    If anyone still takes this as a fact in BWL, keep searching, is not valid at all (if you don't believe me feel free search his own logs, is not hard).
    To point it out once more, HoT strategies work a bit better on horde side because you have no paladins, instead you have shamas with the only smartcast in classic.
    The more well geared healers you have in raid, the less heal you'll do with hots, just because they will afford the direct healing without issues(unless they are really lazy)

    While this spec works in theory, it doesn't really work in practice. Any good guild's melee dps and tanks are going to have buff cancel macros on their main abilities to avoid good world/food buffs being pushed off by Rejuvenation/Renew. Even in a semi-hardcore guild, you're looking at 15-20 players that will immediately cancel your Rejuv before it even ticks, wasting your mana and time.

      Sadly meters dont take precasting/canceling heals effectively into account. It favors sniping, and competition amongst healers instead of teamwork. I gave the other druid in our raid hot slots and I'm concentratimg on regrowth and HT. He being swiftmend and I'm regrowth spec. Sure he got hots rolling on tanks so he can swiftmend when needed and will naturally be over me on meters since tanks take dmg all the time. But in zg and for example lab packs in bwl. Regrowth is awesome for keeping mages up. Also a quick regrowth crit gives me the oppurtunity to really save a tank going too low. We are a team after all.
